My mother has lived here for a few years. The overall experience here has been overwhelming. The staff is amazing. They are so kind and caring to all the residents and visitors. The dining hall here goes beyond anything we ever expected. From the fantastic homemade soups they make each day, to the many choices for each meal to the homemade desserts served daily, it's hard for the residents not to gain weight. The number of activities held daily/weekly are to numerous to list. Their is always something to attend. Plus a movie theatre where great movies are shown daily. The Halloween party is over the top! This is listed and advertised as an independent living facility but the care given to residents goes far beyond any facility I have ever seen! I have slept so much better at night since my mother started living here knowing she is safe and well cared for. My husband and I look forward to the day we can move in.

We recently moved our mother into Brookdale/The Seasons of Northbrook and couldn't be more pleased with the overall experience. First, the facility is beautiful and inviting. The environment is just like being at home (only better) and it was clear all the residents we encountered were very happy there. The entire staff, starting with Sales Counselor, Jeff Altschul, is professional, caring and attentive beyond expectations. This is a top notch senior living community that anyone would be proud to call their home.

I do not know how I will rate this after I have been there a few months. The movers are here today to move me in. All I know is that The Churchill is very expensive. It better be great.

Camelia seemed to be the best choice for me. Its nearer to my son and as affordable as any I was able to find. They have a lot to offer.

We like the place, we haven't really moved all of our stuff in yet. It is very nice. They are a good size.

I toured several different assisted and independent living facilities before recommending this one to my mother based on the main factors of location, price, cleanliness and dining. After touring this and one other facility, she agreed with my recommendation. Shortly after move-in she began to need personal care due to a change in her health and she very much likes the services she receives from the ComforCare personnel (at additional cost). The Town Village and ComforCare personnel are very personable (and observant - they will notify you if they see a change in your loved one's behaviors in case you might not be aware). Mom participates in some of the activities provided by the Town Village staff and also utilizes the services of the on-site hair salon. My experience is that all maintenance requests are performed promptly. They seem to run a pretty "tight ship" and I feel that my mom is in a very safe environment.

It's not perfect but it's really good. We're pleased with it. My dad has meals and I think they're very good. In fact, I'm going there for dinner tonight. I think the activities are good. My dad hasn't participated in a lot but they're good. They have several exercise classes and he enjoys the social things and playing bingo. The housekeeping has been very good. Any time there is something that needs repairing they are very prompt. It's a very friendly place and everyone is really happy to be there. He's doing as well as anywhere. The only negative, and it's not really a negative, is I think they could do a little better with assigning someone to new people to show them around. I'm very pleased. We're really glad he was able to move in there. I can't think of another place that would be as good for him. It's working out well.

The two deciding factors for choosing Sterling House was the price and the fact that it is a smaller establishment. We did not want a large facility. The room they showed me was perfect for my loved one, close to the restaurant and activities. I looked at one other facility before choosing Sterling House.

Everything takes about a month to get settled in and probably some of it is my own frustration. What did it for me is the cost with speech therapy and physical therapy it's running us about $[removed] for her to live there per month that's with food included and electric water, sewer. And they give her medication twice a day at some places we could be spending upwards of $[removed] or more for this same amenities. She has a room with a bedroom, a small little kitchenette with a small, living room. She has been quite happy, even in these surroundings.

Staff and residents very nice and helpful. Bright cheery place plenty of activities to do Eating times too early 7:30. 11:30 and 4:30 Food not hot. I love my apartment and am so glad I moved here. I would definitely recommend to others

All the initial intake was good but it seems like they have a lot of staff turnover. Now that my loved ones are in there, it seems like communication is lacking. It's a very disorganized place.

The move-in experience could have been better, and the transition into the community took some time. Additional support during the initial adjustment period would have been appreciated. There were also some early challenges related to medication management and monitoring, which led to concerns about staff training and communication. However, these issues were addressed, and care has improved since then.

Very impressive facility. They appear to have everything I would want if I were to move to this type a place. From the restaurant to the theater and work out area I can’t image ever being bored there.

Nice facility. Fair pricing. Friendly staff. Some long halls for residents with mobility issues, but overall a good place.

The staff was nice and so were the people who lived there. The one-bedroom model we looked at had a nice size bedroom that can accommodate a full-size bed, dresser and it had a large clothes closet. The sitting room area, with kitchenette, was a good space for relaxing and watching TV.

What sticks out as positive is the friendliness of the staff. What sticks out as negative is the high staff turnover of the caregivers and the cost of the facility per level of care.

I chose it for myself for several reasons. I had worked here a # of years ago & liked it then. Also you can age in place. All the staff are friendly & caring & sincere. It's very clean, the apartments are roomy you have many choices from the meals menu. Best of all it's easy to make friends. I love living here !

The facility had most of what I am looking for. I enjoyed my visit and will try to make another visit in the fall.

Food is very good, diversified and healthy if you choose! Many activities from cards, board games, lectures, live music, movies. Staff is exceptionally trained. They treat us like family. Are always upbeat, funny and fun. Apartments are cleaned well twice a month. Desk receptionist is always very helpful. Residents are friendly, curious, helpful and generous

Start with accommodations, first class adequate size one bedroom , nice kitchen, great bath and wonderful closet. Living room small but two large chairs or one love seat and chair. Very clean, well maintained and great activities. Staff is first class and very accommodating. Most residents in independent living are seemingly happy or at least content. Only negative is food. Marginal at best even though chef tries hard. I think he tried to do to much needs to keep it simple.
