My husband died [date removed] and while in Texas for his burial I realized that the February fee of $[removed] was withdrawn from my bank account. When I returned I spoke with them about it and they said I would be reimbursed in 30 days which seems too long for their mistake. It is now March and no check and no one seems to know where it is or when I will receive it. I DO NOT recommend this facility. It's too bad because the actual workers are wonderful folks.

Stay away if you care about your parents or loved ones! My parents moved in about 2 years ago and it's been nothing but disappointing. The food is not much better than what I feed our yellow lab. Dog food! My parents are paying over $[removed] a month for a 1500 sq. ft apartment and refuse to eat in the dining room because the food is so bad. Last month, they had Covid and 3 our of 5 nights, they didn't even get the food they ordered to be delivered to their apartment. Now, the night before Thanksgiving, the elevator is out of order for the 4th time in 2 years. My parents are disabled and unable to get down the stairs so they are stuck in their apartment for the holiday. We called [name removed], the management company, and they refused to give us the regional managers phone number. The local manager is leaving the company (I think they've had 3 managers in 2 years) and never returned my call. I was told it would be fixed today and as of 7pm on Thanksgiving Eve, it has not been fixed.

My in-laws live here. The food is inedible. They can’t keep an operations manager. The elevator in building [removed] Is consistently out. Given most elderly don’t want to move again the Grace management team takes full advantage of that fact. Try calling corporate and you get the run a round. You can’t can’t a phone number for any of the senior regional operators leaders only email.

My experience is mostly with the memory care unit. Complete lack of communication, phone calls seldom returned . My husband was there for 3 months and was never shaved or had a haircut. He lost considerable weight, I was not informed his clothes were too big and needed new things. The Dr there did not accept his insurance so he was not seen by physician and I was never informed that he wasn't being seen. I was not living in the area and couldn't visit .

We no longer live at The Summit and would not recommend to any one. The place is more of an assisted living facility instead of independent living. Food was terrible. Many times we did not receive what was ordered.

Always check on your loved ones. Show up when the facility is not expecting you. Taste your loved ones food. Check their bodies for bruising in unusual places. Watch how your loved one reacts to staff and vice-versa. Are their hearing aides charged and clean? Are they being kept clean? Are their teeth brushed? Is their hair combed? Do your loved ones act unusually timid in their environment? Are they getting enough to drink? Are they getting their medications in a timely manner?

Rivertown Ridge has great potential, it was just not the place for me. I was previously a resident there for about six months. I would have left sooner, but my condo would not have been available until the end of the year.

Unfortunately the travesty has been totally mismanaged as everyone was told the lock down was due to a flu outbreak. There is a complete cover up and staff change from medical director to executive director to food manager going on at this facility. Stay Far Far away..... I am trying to get my Mom out of there but I do not feel safe stepping inside that building. Do not believe anything they tell you there is a coverup going on here

I moved my parents from PA to VA and into Heritage oaks. when they 1st moved in food was great and service was good. Now the food is unelidable as is cold or burnt. staff does not wait on in a fast manner. My mom refuses to go in as her food is cold and she has dementia and gets agitated that it takes so long and is so cold in the dining room. Rent went up last year and going up again. i understand cost of food has gone up but my parents are unable to eat the food in cafeteria and spending money on groceries so they have decent food to eat. I really don't want to move them as they like their apartment and their neighbors but i also want them to have good food to eat. i am here every Mon Wed and Friday so can attest to the food and i am like everyone's niece and they all complain to me about the food and service in Dining room.

Our loved one h a s been there for some years. All was going wonderful until the past 6 to 12 months. Management changed 2-3 times, the kitchen was closed numerous days due to no employees, and residents were served sandwiches, only some residents were skipped. Chefs came and went, as did the house cleaning and personal care staff. There was no maintenance person to repair the broken showers, pipes, etc. Most heart breaking was the way some staff spoke to the residents. Demeaning, loudly, without compassion. Our loved one will be moving as soon as we can locate a new place that treat the residents as they deserve...with dignity and respect.

They are always short staff when I went to visit a friend of mine I got to see what it was about and the experience was horrible they were always short and food was brought out cold and hard to eat. When I asked to speak with the boss of the kitchen she was never able to come out and speak about the concerns. I witnessed staff get treated bad. They also got rid of some servers and it’s even more slow because they fired the best workers it’s just very unprofessional. My friend has been there for years and I hate to say they make it look like it’s a place worth living but in reality it’s a [profanity removed] show

We placed our mom here for a few months but had to remove her because it was horrible. The food is awful, the place is dirty. We tried to talk with the executive director several times but she was just rude to us. It's too bad, some of the staff are nice

The food isn't fit to feed hogs. The owner Grace Mgt is mean toward the residents. We are treated like inmates. The place is infested with cockroaches. The mental condition of most residents is so poor that they require nursing care.

They serve incredibly awful food. If you asked other residents that don't have dementia they would tell you. Also, they didn't keep my parents clean. They didn't involve them in activities very often. There were medication discrepancies and my mother's hearing aides were never charged even though they take them to the office each night to charge them. Also my mom and dad had bruises in unusual places. We also had to bring in water bottles for them because they said we had to. Very lacking in care. Also, when we moved them out a lot of their belongings were missing - a lot!!!

I do not recommend Northgate Park. Staff does not come when they are needed. Takes a long time to respond. Hippa violation. Sharing personal information with other residents.

Zero rating, A Place for Mom set up an appointment and they never called me, I called them to set up a tour and never got a call back.

If you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing a mask, they will not allow you to visit residents. They require a COVID test at the main reception but even with a negative test result you are denied entry.

If you are thinking of putting your family in this place save yourself the stress.the management sucks and most of the aids are lazy. Then you call them out on stuff and they make it a nightmare and the director will sit there and cover for his employees even when you have proof of what’s going on. Also beware they will tell you one thing and once they have you in there due the total opposite. Also they will keep jacking up your rent if you need more assistance. This place is out ravenous and the one aid on night shift is so nasty and rude. All I’m saying is save yourself the stress and find another place.

When I moved my mother in in 2019 this was an excellent facility. The memory support program was attractive, particularly the focus on cognitively stimulating activities and the freedom to participate in the regular assisted living program. The staff were dedicated to providing the best possible home for the residents. Particularly essential was the memory care activities director: she cared deeply, always providing creative activities and emotional support. I don't know how we would have survived the Covid lockdown without her; despite her own cancer treatment she was there nearly everyday, providing support and keeping residents and families connected. With new management much has changed. Most of the staff that I knew initially have left. Memory support residents are not permitted out of their specific area. The number of staff, the food and many other things have changed for the worse. I am grateful that my mother passed away before most of these changes.

We did not have a good experience overall. Our loved one went into assisted living, and on his first day there, they diagnosed him with sun downing (which we had no idea about). So he had to move to memory care. They lost all his clothes, so we had to keep bring him more. His room was nice with a nice view, but it always smelled and wasn't cleaned thoroughly. Otherwise it was really a nice facility and pretty new, so the common areas were clean and new. They had some good employees. The food was pretty good, but in memory care they didn't offer choices since that can be hard for people with dementia to communicate. They had activities that a lot of people were participating in. But we just found the services in memory care to be lacking, and it ended up not being a good transition for him. We ended up moving him to another memory care facility where he was able to thrive.
