4 story facility with no ALF units on first floor. Mom would not be able to navigate the halls and elevator.

Apartment is more spacious than any I have seen. Grounds small. They have an inground pool which caused me some concern as people that need assisted living usually have some gait problems as well as balance problems,and they are opening a memory care unit, when asked they stated that there was no plan for a lifeguard. They do not have an RN on premises 24x7, just the day shift. We noted food scraps on the floor in the dining room and when we mentioned it, it was not addressed to our satisfation sort of ignored perhaps 'sorry that this has happened we will correct this issue' would have helped. The facility was clean everwhere else we saw. When queried if Mom needed help changing a battery in a remote due to arthritis in her hands we were told yes for a $10.00 fee or perhaps a change in the level of care. They have a great deal of activities planned, perhaps a daily schedule would be more helpful to the residents the complete month is a bit overwhelming to seniors. They do offer rooms to family visiting from out of state at $85.00 a night with breakfast. If you have a meal with your family member they charge for it with dinner at $15.00 Worth considering if they correct the concerns that I have. Pet friendly, friendly staff Welcoming to family participation.

I toured this community, and never got to see the rooms. However, I did walk up and down and around the community. Overall, it looked decent. The clientele seemed a little older than what we were hoping for. The lobby was definitely favorable. It was modern and just fantastic. Also, one thing that was nice is that this site is adjacent to St. Joseph's Hospital. It is literally across the street. However, this was definitely a city environment, and we were looking for something more suburban.

When we first spoke with Jeff over the phone, he was difficult to work with, and it was almost a turning-away point for us. However, after we met with him in person, we realized he was just very direct. We sat down and discussed our needs. He informed us that the average age of residents is over 80, which was not what we wanted for our loved one. It just didn't suit her personality. The community itself is nice. Each floor has their own activities going on. There is also a nice Golden Retreiver that sort of serves as the house pet! The facilities are nice, but they're not the cleanest. Also, their cancellation policy was not favorable. You have to be there for 12 months before you have give your notice with no penalty. All in all, this was not the right fit for my loved one.

Visited 3/4. Some potential if mom wants 'Hotel' format. Truly at top of range for monthly expense. No Buy in but no 'contract for care' security.

I looked into this community when I was searching for independent living options. This was a very nice looking place, but it was also very expensive. The community itself was also more spread out than I was looking for, and getting to and from the different parts of the community would have been an issue.

My dad visited when he was thinking about moving, and he thought that it was old and outdated. Everything was a little off; it was just old. He had a meal and he said that the food was good, but he didn't see any activities going on.

does not have central air conditioning nor washer/dryer in apt. Not interested.

Food was fair. Apt.is very small. Only plus is the V.A.benefit if M would qualify. That could be used elsewhere.

I like the mission statement..since Dad is moving up North...this might be one to really look at....

Liked the dinning room and how they will match like to like personality when eating. The rooms has wall unit AC.

Did not have a good experience with Beach House. My father has dementia but they placed him in assisted living not memory care. Then they seemed to be surprised when he was able to sneak out and was found wandering the parking lot. They then placed him in memory care. Woman across the hall constantly was screaming. One woman got into his room and was found lying on the floor. He is now at [community name removed] and everything there seems much better.

Based on my tour I would not recommend this facility, they were not very friendly. I also did not like that you either got no care or full care, there was no in-between.

We have had issues with administration not returning phone calls and issues with them keeping us updated on care issues and medication problems. We are going to be looking for a new facility and would not recommend to others looking.

The quality of the food has gone down, our loved one never had blood pressure or heart problems, but now due to the amount of processed foods she is now being treated for high blood pressure. We have been hung up on a few times when we call asking about our loved one and her quality of care. They have cut back on the entertainment and activities due to COVID which they are still being charged for. They do have life alert buttons, but there is no medical staff and after 7pm they just to have to call 911.

I toured Brookdale for my loved one. I did not like this community at all. to me, it felt like a nursing home that had been changed to an assisted living facility. It felt old, dark, and overall not like a good fit for us.
