I have been here for 29 months. The first 18 months were fine then [date removed] they raised the rent 7% and started taking away amenities too. The food has really gone downhill hill since [date removed]. Even 7 servers quit cause of lack of care in the kitchen. I will say the ladies in activities are great and the caregivers bend over backwards for you. Employers are another story. They do offer on Labor Day and Memorial Day a cookout for an extra [removed]. Where I used to live they would do that free for residents and one extra person. Even the head chef says lawfully she only has to make sure that we get 4 ounces of protein. Like I said when I first moved here it was nice and friendly. In the past year because of price raising over six people have moved out on my floor and one has been here since the doors opened. If you love your family member I would suggest to keep looking because of price increases, amenities and food. Good luck finding a home for your loved ones.

My mom is happy in her independent living apartment at Woodhaven Village. She is happy with the services, activities, and caring staff. She has made friends, and feels like she fits in. She also, for the most part, likes the food. Her biggest complaint is that they have a problem with food service that has not improved despite filing multiple complaints. What everyone wants to do is go down to the dining g room to eat a meal with your friends at the table. At home, or in any restaurant, everyone at the same table would be served at the same time so everyone can eat together. For some reason, my mom has an ongoing problem where they don't bring out her food. Everyone else at the table gets served except her. It takes them 15-20 minutes to figure out she hasn't been served. By then, most others have finished their meals, and even their desserts, and gone back to their apartments. My mom is left to eat alone at the table. Then she cries and doesn't want to eat, so she goes to her apartment and eats cereal. And calls me to express her unhappiness, but I have no power to fix it. She wants to be served when everyone else at her table is served. It's not an unreasonable request. I think it's a training issue that could be solved without incurring any expense to solve the problem. But multiple complaints have not solved it. Management does not report to me or my mom re why they cannot solve it. Not sure anyone is taking action on the complaints. Mom feels it's futile to continue to complain. It's a very sore spot. Now, at this time of year, they ask residents to give an annual tip to the staff for Christmas. I'm not sure how to advise my mom. She was very generous last Christmas, but I don't think she should tip generously for frequent poor service in the dining room, even though all the other services are great..

Overall, I give Inspirations of Tempe a 3. It is a clean, lovely place and the staff is nice. I haven't eaten there but they have a beautiful dining room. I am impressed with all the fun activities they offer. There is room for improvement in communication between staff and family, and staff and resident. There is also a need for consistency. There are often changes and my loved one doesn't know what to expect. I chose this assisted living for my family member for several reasons… Close location to me, I know she will be safe and taken care of there, she gets three meals a day, and she is around other people.

The building itself is nice, and [name removed] room is good. His biggest complaint, which apparently is shared by many of the folks there, is that the food is not very good, and there is no place close by that he can walk to for a better meal. He also thinks the management is poor, and many of the workers do not seem to want to be of help. He was pretty miserable at first, but fortunately he is making friends, which makes a big difference. Another thing that would be useful for folks to know is that the transportation arrangements are not very good. They only have one tram that is available at one fixed time on two or three weekdays, and there is no tram that can take him to Sunday church services.

The front line staff work hard and love what they do. The new owners are a lot more corporate than prestige assisted living was. You can definitely tell the difference in focus now, it's all about the $ vs the residents. Communication and follow through regarding medical and non medical issues/concerns is poor.

Staff retention and poor food. Are my reasons for a 3. Both the memory care and assisted living facility have 100% occupancy. Inspirations is like family. We know everyone's name. It is a very friendly atmosphere! I have made some close friends here.

Felt like there was always a staffing shortage and very limited care for those who need it. Nurses had far too many patients.

I was very grateful for the help in placing Dad. It has and still is hard to handle his passing. I do not have anymore to add to review.

I moved from Colorado to Nevada because my family asked me to be here. The facility is half the price of those in Colorado and probably as good as any of them except the high-end ones. The best part of this place is the resident assistants who are kind and friendly and talkative and funny and really really caring. The food is bland and the menu too repetitive. My room is just like a hotel room and i can hear noise from all sides including across the hall. But I have to have assistance and this is as good place of any I guess.

Winward Palms, I guess is probably pretty much standard like other independent living facilities. I guess the biggest complaint is that it's not really independent living. There is a lot of people and I would say close to half of the people that are there are not independent living, they are assisted living there in wheelchairs. They are in walkers they need Assistance stressing they need assistance for everything they do during the day so can't even walk. This interferes with the people that are independent in their living. In additionally, additionally, the biggest complaint is the eating facilities. Food is mediocre at best. However, I am not a gourmet eater so it doesn't really affect me an awful lot. What hurts is when I see people Coming in that are new and they go to sit at a table and they get told right away on the first day that they're there you can't sit here. This table is reserved or that chair is reserved for somebody. And then they go to another table and they get the same Complaint. You're not able to sit here because we have all these chairs at the table reserved for other people when the manager has meetings she always tells everybody there are no reserve seats however it's not what really happens when people go to sit where they are not assigned. I also find it very unfriendly a lot of the things that go on there there's an underworld of ways of working and you have to figure those out for yourself. There's no way to really complain and get something done about complaint. I also had a run in with a lady who is she lived next-door to me but she also had a table in the cafeteria that was just for her. The manager told her that if they needed people to sit there, they would have to she would have to let them and she told the manager no she said she will not eat if she anybody gets put at her table One day I tested her. I sat down at the table before she came and when she got there. She told me that it was her table and I was not allowed to sit there. I said well I was told by the manager that there are no reserve seats in here and she said she got very ugly and nasty with me and told me to get up and get out of there and I would not so she went back to her room and didn't eat that meal. I've seen other people try the same thing with her and she did the same thing. She just goes back to her room and won't eat. The manager knows about it and she does nothing.

The facility is very pretty and the staff that they have is nice and professional with a few exceptions on the assisted living floor. They are severely understaffed which results in medical errors primarily on the weekends which is frustrating. During weekdays things are find but they are slow to respond to the residents call button primarily due to insufficient staff. The existing regular staff however does the best they can. Housekeeping services are advertised as part of the basic package but my mom was here for 2and a half months before someone came by and me and a friend primarily come by to sweep & etc. because housekeeping rarely shows up. We haven't seen anyone for several weeks.

One night we were locked out, took 20 minutes to find someone to let us in. They rate Interviewed my sister and talked her previous facility. Several weeks after she moved in they asked me to move her to another facility, they didn't feel capable of caring for her.

Most of the ones caring for her were pleasant. You could tell who was doing it just for a pay check and those that loved the job. The staff has seen many people at the end of their life stage. They should know the signs and be able to let us know when to bring in Hospice. They told us nothing and we had to eventually approach the topic with the nurse. By the time hospice was brought in my mother-in-law was experiencing terminal agitation and was in a lot of pain. She really didn't need to suffer as much!

We picked them because it was newer and more modern. I would not recommend it to anyone. The marketers on quoted a price and when I got there she charged me [amount removed]more. It was too late to make other arrangements. I was very unimpressed with her throughout the stay.

I like the camaraderie and the events they have but what I don't like and you see happens at dinner is the table tops are only four people and if there was a way of Windward Palms putting together the tables so we could sit eight instead of four there would be a lot less screaming to talk to each other at dinner. usually by dinner time the guys have had one too many and they're very vocal and loud with their friends usually sitting for a five tables down from me. The most part for now is it's safe.

Meals lacked flavor and were sometimes cold. Value for Cost. It would help if the meal package was optional to help save money for seniors. Especially if the meals were not appetizing to the residents. There were options but they were poorly communicated to the residents. They should REMIND each resident about their meal options at every meal. Most of them ( including my mother) can barely remember what they did that morning.

We came into the facility when the management company changed and my experience has not been good. My loved one is happy for the most part. The place is very clean, the floor staff is very caring, nice and knowledgeable along with the move in coordinator.

Too much turned over with the staffs , the corporates/ upper managements have to look into these problems to prevent low census. In these 3 weeks members of the corporation have been present in different division, especially in the kitchen which has the most complaints. They hired two chefs now, which shows some improvement so far.

The quality of care depends on the caregivers. Some are amazing and attentive and some are adequate, with not much personality, The meals are ok, nothing that stands out. I have eaten in the main dining room a few times and would consider it to be worth the [fee removed] they charge. The cleanliness is fine, but could be better.

Sumter Place/Sumter Senior Living is a beautiful facility it is clean and well maintained. The staff probably should be expanded some because the care is not living up to expectations as yet. Most work is done by Hospice members when it comes to patient care. The concern is only one hour a day for four or five days is dedicated to a Hospice patient. The rest of the time is up to facility staff and they only check every two hours to see if there is a problem. Falling is an issue so if someone falls right after a check time it could be a long time before help arrives. There are many little things that we feel should be improved but so far even after stating our opinion nothing is done. The plan is to stay with them for now but it will all depend on day to day care. Thank you to A Place for Mom for all you do.
