The tour started late and the representative had to keep leaving the room to check on the room prices. Residents seemed happy. Excellent cook.

We live out of state but had a reliable witness visit the memory care unit where our Mother is residing. They said the facility is clean but there seemed to be no activities and no advocate for patients with no family nearby. We thought there would be more care and personal attention.

Please be aware that as a memory care facility, bed rails are not available at all which I find strange. Something to be noted if it is needed. Another thing to is that there was an incident where there was an injury and no formal verbal description was given until asked and it was very vague.

My experience with Glen Park West has been ok. Not the best, but ok. The staff, facility, and care is just ok. Still filling them out right now.

My husband was here. The cost was going up and up. That and the distance are the reasons I wanted to move him. Everything was fine until they changed management. We were trying to get my husband to get veteran's help. When I signed up I told him he had applied and they said if he got it then the cost would go up $500. I told him he didn't get it and they still raised the price. The lady that we had signed the contract with was no longer there and the new management didn't honor our contract. I finally just said no. Other little things started changing. The staff was working at 3 or 4 other places so they were always short and moving them around. I thought they should have been a little understanding. It was clean and the people seemed to be attentive and nice but it was just different. They said they treat their people like stars but I didn't think so.

#1. Rate 2. They started out ok but the turnover of unqualified staff was constant. #2. 5 It as very clean and cute decor. #3. Rate 2. Staff was nice but didn't stay long. Some days just one person was there. But there was only about 5 patients in the entire 32 bed facility. #4. Rate 2. She wasn't cleaned or bathed often enough because there wasn't enough staff to get her into her lift and into the shower. Always seemed to have a diaper wash. She told me she always felt dirty. She is only 67 yrs old with MS and mentally ok. #5 Rate 4. They were very nice and head woman [name removed] was very helpful in getting her moved to a Medical skilled nursing facility. Then she was leaving too. #6 Rate 1. This was my friend's major complaint. The food was awful. I brought her foods she like many times. 7. Rate 3. They tried but there is no one really to participate except her and one other woman. #8. Rate 1. $[removed]K per month for her sub par care was killing her saving. I had to get her out and on Medical as soon as I could or she would be impossibly homless. I got her into a skilled nursing facility just in the nic of time and she is doing well. Was able to save what was left of her savings so I have some money to buy her some incidentals.

This facility is smaller than the other facilities that I checked out. It is a little dingy. It reminded me more of SNF as opposed to Senior Living/Retirement center.

I'm sure it's probably cheaper than some places but it's too much like a skilled nursing home or an institution. I would be okay there but not my mother.

Very nice personnel - however didn't seem to know I was coming and not ready to give a tour. Receptionist sort of took me around to see everything - but no one was available to talk to me. Someone had to call me at home later - to answer my questions. did not feel like a good fit for mom - or dad as they are currently. Too much of nursing home feel - saw little independence for residence - none were walking around independently. Looks like they are working hard to improve the property. Mom is just too independent - for this place.

They will up sell you and charge you quite a bit more money than they initially tell you that they’ll charge. My loved one is there with the understanding that they had a proper memory care service. They said they would be able to care for my loved one. The memory care cost more than the regular staff - that’s fine. After my loved one moved in they wanted to add one-on-one care.

After the short time that my loved one was here the experience has not been a great one. I’m not sure if it’s because of the structure that the facility goes by, but I believe that for such a large property they need more care takers. The facility itself looked nice with fresh paint and no bad orders. There is just a lack of quality of care here. I think some of the people there have awareness, but most don’t really care. To them it is just a job; there is no sense of hospitality.

Something has changed since 2015. I believe they are under staffed and moral has been disappointing. Unless you have one on one you will find it difficult to get help when needed. Dr. on call seemed too busy and unfriendly. Good help leaves after a while as it is not a good environment to work in when they learn what is not working as it should and can't continue under the conditions and orders in place. New administer cares alot and hope she doesn't get discouraged in her job or gives up trying to see things improve.

The administration here is very incompetent. One likes to play with the residents meds as if she was a doctor when she is not. The other is lost 90 percent of the time. Neither has any business running this facility. My loved one has gone without meds and has been subject to racist remarks from her roommate as well has attempted physical attacks. When she complained she was told to keep quiet or she would get a “worse” roommate. There has been a lot of inconsistencies in med techs. The good ones have been sent away for unknown reasons by the admins. The community and the residents are suffering because of this. This place is going downhill fast. There is next to no outings and very few activities done here. There is no dietary technician to oversee the menu which consists of all things high in salt and very few if any veggies. The care staff spend more time in the dinning room chatting than they do attending to residents. Especially during lunch time. An overhaul is much needed.

unprofessional, misinformation, price changes last min.

On [date removed], My brother who suffers from dementia was admitted as a resident. At about 7:15 pm that same evening, he walked out the front door and wandered away. The staff failed to notice he was missing until after 11pm, at which time the Glendale PD was notified. I was not called until after 2am on [date removed]. My brother was lost for over 48 hours, and when he was located near the Hollywood/Burbank Airport, he was severely dehydrated, had not eaten in over 60 hours and had soiled himself. He spent over 2 days in the hospital, and despite this traumatic experience, has made a remarkable recovery. I have several criticisms of the facility: 1. They were informed that he was ambulatory and would wander and they failed to insure his safety. 2. He was able to walk past the receptionist undetected. They did not seem to recognize him as a high risk resident 3. During and after the incident, the owners of the facility, [name removed], did not reach out to me to express concern, support or empathy. I have yet to receive ANY contact from them. A nice brochure and all the nice pictures on the walls do not effectively convey an accurate picture of the facility. Beware, if you plan on leaving your loved one here!

Smelled bad, floors are uneven, hand rails are loose, general maintenance is really bad.

Our experience was not good. Seems that are only able to handle persons requiring minimal care. I think they'd rather be in the hotel business. Because my mother required constant attention and care, we were made to feel very unwelcome. I finally put her in another place that knew how to care for elders.

not very impressed, very dark and depressing and rooms are not very nice would not like this place for my parents.
