My first impression was great. [Removed] at the front desk greeted me and was very nice. [Removed] the Marketing person showed me around and answered all of my questions. As we walked around I noticed how all the residents were interacting with one another and having a great time visiting with each other and the staff. I also met with [Removed] the Director of the facility which also answered more questions and spent time with me which I really appreciated. I can't say enough good things about this facility, the staff, residents and everyone I come in contact with there are so friendly and helpful. My mom loves it and has already met new friends and stays busy with all the activities offered.

My mom is absolutely loving her new living environment and has no complaints since she made the move. Its a great social environment for her and the residents have been so welcoming. She is participating in activities almost everyday and is staying busy which Is the most impressive thing to me. I have had a peace of mind since she moved in and would recommend this place to anyone.

My father experience here at this community was a good one, but unfortunately he is going to need more care than they are able to provide. Overall it is a nice community. The staff is kind, and caring. This is a community I would recommend to my family, and friends.

The community we toured was nice, I didn't see anything that was in any way bad. I was looking for a community specifically for Memory Care. Since this was not it, I ruled it out immediately.

I love how all of the staff have so much patience for my mother in law. They will try to work with her and try to encourage her to engage more in the community. My mother in laws room is really nice. I also like the set up of the community her room is near the dinning room. It's a clean place and kept organized. The most important thing is that we know she is in a safe place.

Our mother in law has moved into Brookdale Lewisville much against her will. She was very angry with us that we would do such a thing to her. The staff at Brookdale has been very understanding and caring with us as this has hurt us tremendously. They have also been wonderful with her as she is now starting to join the community and become accustomed to being there. It's because of the Brookdale staff that she is doing so well. Thank you Linda, Shelley, Charles and the rest of the staff, whose names I don't know yet, for helping her and us get through this very difficult time.

Friendly staff. Love the homey feel and the number of residents. Just no opening at this time. We are keeping them on our list.

We looked here when we were touring. It was a very nice place, and was definitely an option. I did find a place that was closer to me and offered the size room that we were looking for.

This is a very good place. It very homey place. I have worked in nursing homes before and this place is one of the best.

At Brookdale San Marcos South they need more care than they offer. The staff will remind him to take his insulin but they don't do it themselves. They cant even check his blood sugar. It got really low one time and I checked it and it was at 34. They fall a lot there also. I think the move over there made it to where they don't remember as much. They do say the food is good and the staff is attentive. They have a really nice room. The billing is also confusing. It keeps bigger every month. The staff is very responsive. Overall it's a good facility but I may be moving them soon to where they can get more care.

I don't really know of anything they could improve on. My experience was that my mother just didn't want to go there and she wanted to stay at home instead. I think she would have been real happy there if she would have chosen to go.

They seem to be doing just fine. They are really responsive to anything that comes up. I have eaten there and the food is fine, and mom really likes the desserts. I don't have any complaints, I would rate them highly.

Definitely an option after Jan 2015. My dad doesn't receive his full VA benefits until that time.

No matter what time you go there or call, they are always helpful or understanding. They never pass you on to the next person or make light of what your call is about. When I had concerns, the head nurse sat down with me for a half hour and addressed them all. All wonderful, caring and understanding staff who definitely know how to deal with dementia patients. Just fantastic. They do BINGO, exercises, people come in to do musical performances, church services, and a balloon toss thing. I have seen almost all of those activities every day. I wish my mother would participate more. I walked by one day and they were doing Wii bowling. I wanted to do that! They are taking her back after rehab, even though I don't believe that they would admit her now as a new resident. They are great at motivating her to bathe and take care of herself in a way that other places aren't able to do.

We're very happy with how they're doing with Mom so far! It's a nice looking place, with a very warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff are very friendly, and encourage the residents to stay active and involved by participating in the activities. They're also very good about communication and feedback, they give me a call to update me on how she is doing to keep me informed of any situations.

They're way friendly, my mom doesn't need a lot of care care, they just hand her her pills everyday. She does the exercising, she likes it. I feel the value is good for her, this is her second month so it's relatively new. It was real homey, more like a home atmosphere than a nursing home atmosphere. That was the main thing and she can keep her independence. She has dementia so she's making new friends everyday and she's happy.

This is a BEAUTIFUL facility with tons of social areas and is very well appointed. The staff was lovely too.

Good meals, housekeeping, activities, laundry, services, grounds, and friends.

It has been going good for my mom so far and the staff have been providing the care she needs and always being helpful. Her meals and activities are more than adequate with choices she can pick from. There has been no discrepancies about cleanliness through the community or in her room.

The place feels more like a home than a nursing facility. There are even dogs at the residence which make it feel like a home. It is staffed well and the food is prepared on site. Very helpful staff and the owner is very knowledgeable, being an RN.
