My mom lived at Brookdale South for over 5 years and it truly was somewhere she felt loved and valued. She suffered from dementia and the staff were always respectful, caring and understanding. It was a family atmosphere in which she always felt secure. Many of the staff have worked there for over seven years and during the COVID lockdown I never worried about her because I always felt confident that the staff and management there were working hard to keep her as safe as they possibly could, as well as providing protection for visiting family members as society started opening back up.

Staff is very helpful, caring and kind. The food is really good. We have interesting and fun activities, that give us the opportunity to socialize and relax with our friends. Living here is a great experience, and i highly recommend it

I would like to share about my family's experiences with Brookdale San Marcos South thus far. My sister and I had to make the hard decision to move our Dad into assisted living last summer, pretty much against his will. It was difficult. Brookdale made the transition easier for us, even though it was a strange and hard time for our Dad as he lost much of his independence. Currently our Dad is still in Brookdale, but now under hospice care. The care he receives is wonderful. The care he was receiving just as a resident was very good, and they continued to increase his care as his needs are increasing in intensity. Now he is reaching the end of his life, and the hospice care he is receiving is amazing. Between the Director, the nurses, the caregivers, the cleaning crew, the caregivers, the wonderful receptionist and every other employee on campus go out of their way to care for the residents. If you make a decision to place your loved one at Brookdale you will be very happy

The whole staff really care, they make me feel as if I'm their number one priority, they focus on my care If I have any questions or concerns they are addressed immediately! My family, especially my oldest daughter is very satisfied with my care. I love living here!

It was such a blessing that a spot opened up for Mom in this location. The staff welcomed us with open arms. When we walked in on moving day, they had a cute personalized sign welcoming my mom to her new home. The Executive Director was always just a phone call or email away. The Business Coordinator has a heart of gold. She was patient and kind in helping me with the financials. The Concierge is always there with a wonderful smile. I know that I can depend on her for help with mom's appointments and delivering messages. The Programs Coordinator takes care of everything that mom might need for the day-to-day stuff. The dining staff have always been open to suggested food items to make mom feel at home. The doctors/nurses are phenomenal with my mother, who is not always the easiest to deal with! Even the custodians go out of their way to do what they can to make life easier for my mom. And...MY quality of life has improved ten-fold since making Brookdale her home.

I feel so blessed that [name removed] found us this place of living (Brookdale South) I love the residents like sisters and brothers! Also, the staff are like family!! Our care takers are so sweet and kind like having our own children around. We are truly blessed to be here!

Mom came to Brookdale at a time when she needed some extra help with care and the luxury of not having to worry about meals and housekeeping. She immediately made new friends and enjoyed many of the activities. My son and I celebrated most of the big holidays with them, and enjoyed the festive setting and delicious food that was served. The care that the residents received, from what I could see, was very nice. We had her moved to Silvergate's assisted living san marcos facility due to her worsening Alzheimer's and I will always be grateful and appreciative of how well she was taken care of at both facilities. Have been here for 2 weeks and it's awesome!! People and facilities are second to none!! Everything I need they have here!! Reputation is excellent!!

The staff was very concerned and caring for the resident. My loved one thought the world of her daily caretakers. She mentioned how sweet they were and how she loved them so. She loved the food overall, with a few particular favorites. And the staff made sure she received those favorites on a regular basis. At first I thought it was really expensive until I realized how much care they were providing and how much I would have been doing at home. So it's definitely a great value.

My mom has been very satisfied with Brookdale San Marcos South. It has been a temporary situation from the get go and the staff here know that. The rooms are older. but they are a good size. They have kept them as up to date as they could. The staff are very willing to work with you on what you need. My mom is very happy here and I would recommend them to others looking.

In general, you need to understand the financials, know what you will need to provide when it comes to essentials. The communication between the staff and the family is good. I would recommend this community to others

It's a very unique experience. The environment is more like a home environment and the ratio of residence to caregivers is an idea. The community feels more like a family and you have 24-hour access to your family member. All the meals were home-cooked. I would recommend this community to others.

I wanted to send my thanks to all the people taking care of my mom at Brookdale in San Marcos. Whether it has been in person, through email, or on video calls, the staff has been great to me. [name removed] has been an angel for setting up weekly FaceTime calls with me and my mother as i live several states away. I greatly appreciate this and it means the world to me to have these video calls with my mother!! I thank everyone there who has helped my mother and my family through all of this.

Excellent Rating [removed] Felicitas owner,[name removed] takes an interest in each of her residents to ensure their care needs are met. The home is designed for resident's care with bathrooms for each of the master orsemi-private bedrooms with ADA roll-in showers & toliet. The atmosphere and ambience of the home is beautiful & peaceful.I loved the outdoor patio & garden for residents to enjoy. I appreciate the safety precaution of meeting or interviewing guests of home behind plexi-glass shield at desk to exercise safey precautions from germs. I have reserved a room in this facility for my loved one with effective move in date of [date removed].

Excellent and compassionate care for our mother, grandmother, and GG. She moved all the way from Boston and a very different culture and the staff have been amazing to her, even during those times that her dementia and anxiety show a pretty difficult side of her personality. I would recommend a visit. We where shown around by Executive Director [name removed]. She is fantastic. knowledgeable and caring. The building is clean, bright and welcoming.

I had to move my mom somewhere she would get the care she needs. The staff here are real friendly and I feel more at ease and safe with her here. It stays clean in here. The dining room is nice and the food is good. The grounds are fenced in and kept up nicely. I feel like I am getting my money's worth. I would recommend this community.
