Keely left for lunch? Facility just 'OK', not great.

Mother lived her a couple of years ago. The facility is nice. The community is not very active. Some of the residents were not very nice to my mother.

This was a larger community. It was a little more Independent for assisted living. There were some bad medication errors. I do think they are trying to improve. I think there was a lot of new staff when we were there. The food was not very good. I do know that the girl that runs it really does care and is making an effort to correct some of the issues.

It seemed so dark and some of the rooms seemed really old. It just didn't feel right for us. There were several levels that you had to maneuver around. It just wasn't right for us.

It looked like a nursing home, like an old-timey nursing home and that was not appealing.

Nice facility but staff didn't seem engaged with the residents.

We moved my mother in law out of there just because of the cost and it was kind of going downhill. They were not cleaning up, they weren't very friendly and the food wasn't all that good. Her room needed to be painted, it needed new carpeting and they weren't doing it. They just had some changes in managers that came there and it just started goign downhill.

Strange layout, multi-level property. Dining area was really clean after lunch. Not many residents available to see. Expanding care onsite at a attached facility.

Staff would not be a good fit for Dad.

prize to high, rooms very small and old looking but Director is your "jewel" she's nice, professional,knowledgeable, asked all the right questions and should recieve a raise. thank you

Retirement living, assisted living, short term/respite care, on site rehab. This is a nice facility...nice garden area and green spaces, but units may not offer a "full" kitchen..only a small refrig, micro and small sink.

Nice place. 42 residents. All seemed to be more independent than Mom. Not sure they can handle Mom's level of care, though the Director says they can. Further distance than we would like.

It was a nice place. But, I was not given the tour of the memory care. I told my mom about it and we may go for another tour.

The staff here are extremly nice and I like the place-but, it's just not for me at this time!!!

My Mom left Brookdale after a couple of weeks of being there. She just didn't like it at all. She chose to leave and go back to her home.

Care givers seem to lack enthusiasm with care. Rooms not kept clean. They do have a lot of activities to keep my mom busy.

The GM....Jessica is very interactive when you need help.....Mom lived in memory care bldg. 1.....daytime head caretaker there is very interactive with all residents....and has activities for them ....they have 3-4 people on staff during daytime, but at night it is only 2 aides, for 15 to 18 people... not enough staff to help residents.....many are left sitting in wet diapers, staff sitting at tables on cell phones or in office on phone.....told a nurse was on staff in blding 1...NOT...night nurse is on staff in another blding and only comes when called. told they check on everyone every two hrs. thru the night..if that was the case why was my mom peeing on the floor hiding her wet diaper under the bed, not found by caregivers the next day/morning but by family member......Have recently brought mom home and found she had acquired some very bad habits ie; eating with her hands, spitting food onto the floor, not needing to go to the toilet (she states "girls told me I had to wait and sit there") would not go to toilet, sat in wet diaper all day, getting out of bed @ 4am ( can not walk ) and peeing on the floor. Glad to say now she is home she asks to go to the toilet....no longer pees on the floor... eats with utensils now....and is learning how to walk again.... Even though mom has dementia there are things she says that are just to hard not to believe ......she is more cognizant than any of the patients in the memory care unit as well as more active.

We toured here when we were looking for options. We were looking into memory care, you had to walk through the entire facility to get to the very back corner where the memory care was under lock and key. The dining area in there was horrible compared to the one we had to walk through in the other area. There was a resident sitting in there all by himself, he was stuck and alone. It was like a dungeon in there, the great room was small and they had a little tiny fish tank. We did not choose to use their memory care.

Not a good experience for me there were no activities are very few activities for my wife. Communications were very tough. Our stay at gemstone only lasted 16 days and that's because of my guilt unfortunately [name removed] passed on [date removed] Just not a good experience for the short time we were there very nice people, but not much in terms of activity and keeping the folks mentally engaged other than TV watching.

No one answers the phone when you call, and they don't return your call when you leave a message, prices are way out of control, we were charged an extra [Amount removed} from the quote we were given before the next month even began. There is a lack of communication between the nurse and the family members, when tests are done we are not informed of the results, they are one of the lower priced assisted living facilities, until they get you in there and then the price just soars on every little thing.
