Overall, I would rate the experience with Gull Creek as neutral. We moved them out two months ago because of costs and quality of care. They moved to Florida because of the lack of choices of other facilities nearby, and Florida offered much better quality facilities and care for several thousands of dollars per month less.

We did not have much of a choice where to put dad o did not like heritage from day one but the staff was great. Every one is very friendly even the residents. The facility is clean but very old wallpaper coming off the walls dirty carpeting dinning room is always cleaned not very welcome when you walk in the building. I never ate the food but dad says it's good not as good as [facility name removed]. Dad seems to be happy with the nurses they do come on time and if my dad needs something they do not take long to ask what he needs I spoke to two of the nurses they were very. They seem to have a lot of activities and do take the residents out shopping and going to other places my dad does not participate which is sad. I think they charge to much for what you get and the prices recently went up.

The reason we gave the overall experience a 3 is due to responsive office staff. The building is older and some of the apartments are in need of refurbishing. The nurses lack sense of urgency at times. The dining room is more like a restaurant with a menu given to each resident to order. Also dining room staff gets to know each person and are very friendly and welcoming. They struggle with finding people to drive the bus or run the theater. So a lot of activities are canceled. Overall good value for the cost.

Paperwork is what they care about. Anything they can bill Medicare for they will. They send residents to the hospital instead of tending to them, for everything including a cold. The food is poor, hard for residents to chew, under and over cooked. The quality has gone down drastically in past 15 months. Serving sizes are very small. Breakfast is pretty much non existent except for oatmeal and pastries except for Sundays. Every holiday dinner is a sandwich, chips and cookies. Just sad! In 24 months prices have gone up from [name removed] to [name removed] , they have taken away phone and cable services. If meals would be the quality they were in the beginning price increase wouldn't hurt so much. Service has declined, food is poor and prices have risen. The activities are plentiful and many things to keep busy with.

We left Heritage Woods a few months ago. My Mom was not happy there. The food needs to be improved on in a big way. The nurse wasn't very easy to deal with and they missed her medications on multiple occasions. My mom rarely left her room and became very depressed. [name removed] at the front desk is amazing!!

The price is the best thing. The least is that they are disorganized. Management is not doing their jobs. Never met the director.

Experience with Memory care(4 )is better than Assisted Living(2). Some of the staff is a 10 and a few are a 3. The administration is the least friendly after you are a resident. We had medication issues and the lack of honesty is those issues. There was sometimes a lack of responsiveness to aid the wheel chair bound resident. Recently there has been a short staff situations. And there is in general a poor response to questions that I've needed answered. My mother enjoys the food because it is bland. They do a very nice job with the diversity of types of residents who are at. If you added up the fours and even a five you might not understand the 3 for overall, quality of care has been lacking and those issues have outnumbered the few good staff

Overall I guess it depends they seem to gotten better since she has been there. My wife's cognitive abilities have gotten worse but that was the main reason for her being there. Cleanliness seems okay. They appear to doing a good job. The staff is friendly and helpful for any questions I have regarding her care. The Meals are okay but my wife is a bit picky about food. They seem to try and help her as best as they can. I think they need more aides but that is my opinion. Activities for majority of the population seen fine but my wife doesn't want to go to them because some require a little participation that she can't do. I think it is in line with other options in the area so it is what it is.

Our family had an in person tour with Carriage Court and it was very clean and quite, but the rooms were too small and didn't feel like an apartment. Definitely too small for 2 people and no separation for the bedrooms.

Not enough help. Cleaning their own place and mostly cold water and mediocre food variety. They need help. We picked this community because my loved one liked it.

Overall the facility is nice. The Activities Coordinator is amazing! She makes the place better. The housekeeping isn't great and they are not willing to help when it's not your cleaning day. The food isn't great and they make you think that you can order off of a menu if you don't want the specials. Not really true. Very limited fresh food (fruit) and not good at supporting any special diets or restrictions. I'm sure all of these places are struggling with staffing and quality staff, but I feel it has declined and prices only increase when I think others in the area may be more worth the high cost.

They moved a pool table into the community room. Most residents are in wheel chairs or use a can. They can not play pool. Now we have no place to play bingo, the price is right, exercise, crafts, music. Its been taken over by the pool table. It was stunning when it was first built but now all the furniture is put in other areas and it is a mess. Activity each day is vital to our health but now we have a giant pool table

We toured with Cedar Grove and the sales lady [name removed] is outstanding, but she needs a better product to sell. It was old and depressing. It was more money than [facility name removed] and dad would have had no bathroom in his room.

I like the staff. The staff is nice and they listen and try! The staff work hard but they are understaffed and things and people get missed. Too much is expected for the amount of staff, that they have. And I don't think they are properly trained for some things expected of them. Nurses have to bring trays to residents instead of the dining staff. They have terrible food. And they are no help for food allergies.

The Fountains is a very nice place for a family member who needs extra care. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Updating the building has been taking a while, and sometimes there is a strong urine odor in the hallways.

This was a very nice community. The community was a little more open than what I felt would be good for my loved one with memory care needs.

Residents are very friendly and many are high functioning. It is easy for residents to make friends. Administration is approachable and willing to please and generally very friendly and kind. As of now there is an aid shortage. My mom likes the food some day and complains on a minimal basis. Food is hard to tell, I haven't eaten there. The facility is airy , large and lovely. The rooms are large and vey nice with many having a terrace. The price for the room and overall price I think is less than some. It's in a quiet area tucked in a residential area. The grounds are lovely and they are building a garden. The recreation director is new and great, she tries to involve all residents. There has been a turnover of administrators lately. I like them and they are very approachable and try hard to solve problems. Berlin MD is a great town! Quaint downtown, close to Ocean City, close to outlets and National and state park at Assatinque. It is where wild ponies live. It's 40-45 min to Lewes / Rehoboth Beach where I live. I wish it was closer but it's an easy ride. Hope they resolve their staffing issues , but it seems to be an issue nation wide.

Gull Creek's facility is extremely limited - it's not set up well / doesn’t flow well / is very disjointed. The Executive Director seems really good, and she personally has reached out to me multiple times to follow up. She seems very motivated. My concerns came from the facility itself. It feels like house that has awkward additions on it. I found it confusing to navigate, so I can only imagine how confusing that would be for my loved one with dementia.
