Frontier Senior Living

My loved one has been around just about a year now, and so far we've been very pleased with everything they have provided! It's a nice looking place, the staff are friendly, and they do a great job looking out for the residents. I like that the fact this is a smaller community means that the staff to resident ratio is very good, and everyone gets plenty of attention.

It's a pretty good community. They are relatively clean and very friendly. They are quick to respond if there are any needs, concerns, or requests. They seem to do okay on activities, too. I haven't really had any complaints about the food, and I don't think there is anything I would like to see improved or done better.

They do a great job here! The staff are all very friendly, and do a great job welcoming new residents to the community. The facility itself is always clean and well kept, and the services and activities they provide are all very good. The decor gives it a very upscale feeling, while still having a warm homey atmosphere.

Keepsake is a nice facility. They do their best to accomodate every person there with all of their strengths and weaknesses. They do genuinely care about doing what is right for each resident. We are very glad that we decided on this facilty. Great, caring staff. The food program needs some work.

It was nice and clean and beautiful, but it just wasn't for us. There were just too many people, it was a rather large facility. I think it was a little overwhelming and scary for my loved one. For someone who is confused it can be a lot going on.

We toured this community to look at other options, and were impressed by some aspects. For one, they had a sheet that showed how the "care points" translate to the cost of care. Also, they didn't seem to have as much concern about private pay vs. medicaid. This facility is significantly bigger than some of the others, which means long hallways, which would be a little difficult for my loved ones. Also, their rooms are much bigger and offer storage. This would be at the top of our list if my loved ones ever needs to move.

For me, it seemed very friendly. My mom had a couple of problems with a couple of the staff, but we had a very unique situation. She had very severe problems and she was in a lot of pain. She would need help getting in and out of bed and to the bathroom. They gave us the impression that they could provide the full continuum until the end unless there was something like a stroke where they couldn't swallow, but we just didn't feel like there were quite enough people. My parents didn't participate in the activities because my mom was so sick, but they were available. The food seemed OK, but my parents weren't too excited about it. They didn't like spicy food at all and they thought that even the normal food there was too spicy, so my dad was eating hamburgers four or five days a week. I always thought the food smelled good, though!

Due to a rather quick decline in Mother's health, we needed to have to her leave her independent living residence and go into respite care so that she could regain her strength. That gave us the opportunity to actually have her stay at two different assisted living residences for two weeks each and do a compare/contrast in regard to the food, caregiving, etc. Though she began to regain her strength, I was not at all pleased with the first asst'd. care residence; had she moved in, she would have had a nicer apt. at a lower cost, but she was going to be vastly overcharged for her service plan. She agreed to then go to Redwood Heights and after 3 days, decided that it was the place for her (if we were going to "force" her to go into asst'd. living). Unfortunately she fell & broke her hip after being there just 6 nights; no fault of theirs, that's for sure! Five + weeks later after surgery and rehab, she returned and moved into her studio apt. I wanted to wait to write this review until after she had completed her initial 30-day service plan and revisited her needs/wants. Mike Burdick, the executive director, did an excellent job of conducting the meeting and Mother was pleased with the outcome. Now that she's gotten used to the services provided for her, she's very comfortable with where she is, especially appreciating the medication administration, assistance with showering & dressing and personal laundry services. She feels that she's able to still maintain a good portion of her independence though living in an assisted living residence. She's especially appreciative of the Resident Assistants' friendliness and aid.

They were nice. The reason we didn’t pick them was they didn't have any bedroom units available, which is what I was looking for. They only had studios.

The living room was just too small. The bedroom was great but the living room was too small. My mom doesn't live in her bedroom so the living room size was important to us. Plus, she came from a huge house so getting her to even get rid of stuff was going to be hard. We could have her downsize that much.

This is a very nice place. They had a wing for the dementia and Alzheimer's patient but it was full and they had a waiting list of 6 or 7 patient. It was pricey too but it was very nice. We were down to the wire. I needed to find a place for my dad in a week so this wasn't an option.

The overall experience here was good. The place seemed really nice and the staff very attentive and personable. Dad and I had lunch here and one of the cooks came out to greet us. The server was super sweet and interacted with dad very well. The population here seemed much older than dad and had only a handful of men. I liked the rooms here especially the deluxe studios. Everyone really enjoyed dad and his dog. The only reason I wouldn't consider this is the age difference and small population of men. It was a nice big place with down to earth staff and welcome feel.

It's a beautiful facility! It's all memory care and beautiful but it was just too expensive for us.

Edith did not like this one. Too fancy! Like a palace. Not her crowd.

I didn't care for the room set ups. I liked the "Safety Checks" that are done 3 times a day. Lots of walking. Multi level facility.

Toured site. This is a Assisted Home at 1500/month based the needed assistments added 2500/month. Gets 3 meals for base cost.

Toured and liked. Will probably deposit (refundable). Depends on Mom's condition when we're ready.
