Rooms are bright and "happy ". My mom is in an efficiency apartment, but she thinks she has a fabulous room and is always commenting on how happy she is.

Does the staff know the residents by their name as they see them in the halls as they show them around. Are the grounds maintained, and carpets steamed cleaned routinely.

A Place for Mom has scored Franklin Park Senior Living with 8.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score based on 26 reviews in the last 2 years. Over all time, Franklin Park Senior Living has 194 reviews with an average "overall experience" of 4.4 out of 5.
When we moved our loved one in, we were told they could handle bathroom needs. Their response time is 30 minutes which is unacceptable. Furthermore, she had a medical condition that wasn't addressed with the doctor for 3 days. They didn't wash the clothes every week as promised. They didn't clean the toilet which very much needed it. Franklin Park may be fine for someone that is able to get up and assist themselves but definitely not for someone that needs help.

Some staff are excellent, others just don't care or aren't trained at all. Always short on caregivers. Caregivers seem to be on their phones quite a bit. They would rather dope them up to make their job easier. Activities do not stimulate. They hardly talk to the residents. Breakfast is basically the same everyday. Meals do not match ability to eat. I would not eat there. Rooms are not always locked or closed. Residents wander on their own. Management is MIA on the floor. No accountability for workers.

The caregiver needs to be sure to read your contract and then read it again. Know what is in that contract

This is probably only good for someone who is ready to sit and do nothing. It there were any problems, I don't feel the staff were equipped to handle them. The staff were very aggressive with my husband and did not seem to recognizes problems for what they may be. The staff was minimally trained and it was very poor care.

I was not impressed by what I saw here. The person I scheduled my tour with was not available when I arrived, which did not leave a good first impression. In general the community just didn't have a very friendly feel, and I didn't think it would have been a good fit for my loved one.

I went by there and it very pretty from the outside. I received a brochure and it was very expensive. For me it was to far out and there's lots of traffic and some construction in Stone Oak.

My mother was living here and the administration is not at all helpful. They put the residents through all kinds of rules and requirements to do simple activities like going to dining room or making a reservation to take the community van to the grocery store. Their facility manager is extremely rude both to employees and residents. This is a very expensive facility to live in, and yet the management came back and pressured all the residents to ‘donate’ money to provide holiday bonus money for the underpaid staff. This little group of elderly residents ‘donated’ $40,000 from their own money. This is over and above the very high costs required to live here. There are staff memebers who are very caring, but don’t be fooled about the facility—it is focused totally on making as much money as much as possible from these sweet elderly residents.

We have not had a good experience with Assisted Living at Franklin Park Sonterra (FP) for our Dad and would definitely not recommend. We even had several meetings and conversations with the Administration(many times with no response). Has anyone has experienced issues with any of the following: administering of meds (overdosing, not being given on schedule or as prescribed; making changes to Physicians Orders (meds, changing original prescribing doctors, changing number of refills by original dr"s) without notifying family and original prescribing dr's; the Emergency Call Wireless Pendant not working for extended periods of time or a lack of adequate response time; ordering of Rx drugs and over the counter meds without family approval; lack of adequate staffing to provide the services and care that they say are included in the rental charges and level of care fees; being overcharged; issues with auto withdrawals; no nurse 24/7 response; getting blind resident to sign document.

Mom moved in [date removed] and I cannot move her out fast enough. Staff does not communicate to family by email or phone any issues regarding your beloved family members. The staff loves to bark out from upstairs into the dining to me that "it is not my mom's scheduled time for that now." It seems like her scheduled time comes and goes each week and she doesn't get any housekeeping, help with a shower, or laundry done. If I say, "can you please help, my mom today because she has not had a shower in a couple weeks?" They say, "well we cannot do that now, that is second shift." Next big issue, the residents do not have keys to their rooms so they cannot lock up when they leave. The staff does not have a master key so if the resident deadbolts their doors, the staff cannot get in to assist. Mom fell and a fireman had to come bust the lock so they could get in. Maintenance items are not handled promptly, and I must repeatedly request again and again.

We have not had a good experience. My loved one has lost a considerable amount of weight and basically lays in bed all day. Her urine is as dark as I've ever seen urine, which I talked to my doctor about, and he let me know that's severe dehydration. My loved one is NOT being well taken care of. The snacks I bring for her are being taken by the staff for themselves. The company has just changed from The Avenues to The Grove, and there is a new manager. I don't know yet if that is going to result in any improvement. They've just replaced the one person, and the rest of the staff remains the same. As things are right now, I would not recommend them.

We had a very bad experience overall, the food was not edible on the memory care side, it was not good at all. Our family hired an outside agency to with the care at the community because the staff did not do much. Our loved ones clothes went missing at one point, the management was not willing to work with us and their was no leadership.

Buyer be ware, sells you a bill of goods. Always changing sales people and Administrators. For the most part good staff, caregivers just manly make sure the trash is empted. After 7:00 pm very little staff. Food is ok but the kitchen is very dirty according to staff that wants to remain anonymous.
