Patriot Heights provides numerous activities, outside dining experiences, trips to unique locations, transportation to doctors visits as needed, staff is very friendly. Housekeeping services. In-house Physical, speech and occupational therapy. Monday, Wednesday and Friday exercises at 9 AM. 10 o’clock tai chi or chair yoga. 11 o’clock brain games. Each Friday mix and mingle which provides live music/DJ available, cocktails limit of two. Residents have set up groups to play games, such as dominoes, Scrabble, Mexican train, and Monopoly, as well as regular poker nights and trivial pursuit. We have a chapel and resident-ministers andguest ministers.. Dining room should have more protein in the menu. Good selection and variety. Wait staff. Could use more organization and training. Overall, Patriot Heights is a good choice. Apartments, as well as duplexes and homes which they call villas are available. It feels like a neighborhood lots of trees. Entrance is through a security gate.

The staff is extremely helpful and kind to my mother who has been with them for three months. My mother had a history of disruptive behavior, but the caring and patient staff made her feel at home and comfortable, and her behaviors are at an all-time minimum. Her apartment is a very nice size which is very clean and tidy .

This is a very friendly place. It is easy to meet other residents. Joining a few of the many activities to get acquired is easy .Minor problems with doors, appliances, air conditioning, etc. are quickly taken care of. My only disappointment has been the two meals a day. Some days they are delicious with a wide choice that includes foods needed for medical diets. (Mine is kidney disease, stage 3a verging on 3b). Then a few days there is almost nothing I can eat. So I usually eat two meals at home and only one there. I can handle the diet problem.

The place is clean yet there turnaround of staff frequently including upper management changes a lot. Very hard to get close to the workers or have the employees get to know the residents if they keep leaving. Employees give comments that they are overworked

It's not a fancy place but it seems like they're constantly trying to make it nicer. Hard to beat it for affordability when it comes to memory care I was getting my mom onboarded with them from a hospital room, because she needed to move from the hospital to full-time memory care, and they were very helpful and accommodating of that. They even had an extra bed my mom could use, saving me from having to find, purchase and transport one to the facility, which would have been very difficult with limited time and a fairly awful hospital staff who didn't seem to understand mom's need for supervision The caregivers and nurses are always friendly with me, and appear to really care for the residents as I've made my weekly visits I would have preferred a situation where they ordered/provided things like wipes and diapers and just billed me for them, but instead they just tell me when it's time to bring more

We chose Katella because of the location and size and beauty of the rooms. Nice community. I think the harder part was that my mom was a little combative and not an easy patient, and they only had so much time to be able to help her eat, but I also think that there were times that they could have got things a better situated for her. Overall, we would definitely recommend it though.

My parents are very happy with the staff. Some of the infrastructure is aging, but the maintenance people seem to take care of things nicely. Cost increase was not too terrible after the initial period.

Overall this facility has been satisfactory. This facility is ideal for those seeking a midrange dollar level situation.

I cannot rate the meals and dining services as well as the activities because I did not observe. During our loved ones stay I was mostly out of town and not within the facility so it is hard to say what we liked more or if they had room for improvements, but based on the experience we would recommend the community to other families.

Everything has been great besides the food. They could improve by offering better quality food and they have daily specials that run out with 20 min of mealtime starting.

Mostly location and the make-up of the other guests/renters. My parents fit well with other military and former civil service people. Overall, very good. Some recent maintenance issues are concerning though.

My mother lives at Claremont Care Center. The facility seems to be a better fit than her previous facility she was at. They accept Medi-Cal.

The facility and staff have been great, very willing to help out when needed. As far as the lower score for the food - very small portions and not super great quality. Very cafeteria feeling, not like you're at a place that is supposed to be your home.

Patriot Heights feels like home. It's rustic because the facilities are older but the programs are plentiful. Management staff are always available. Food services is available from 9-6 pm. Breakfast items are available all day - lunch/dinner items available til 6. Off-campus transportation is available 5 days.

We moved here 7 months ago to better assist and support my mother-in-law who has lived here over 10 years. We enjoy living here, participate actively in the community, and have made many friends.

I visited about 8 places. This is close to the hospital and her doctors. It has a nice layout around a courtyard. It's the right scale for her; some of the places I visited were just too big or the rooms or apartments were too large and I was worried about her navigating them.

When we first got there, we were told they were making changes and that it would be more clean, but nothing has changed as of yet. I will say, the staff has made some positive changes, but still needs work. They still need to step up to the plate. They do have housekeeping, but I've had to remind them to do things that I feel like I shouldn't have to. Communication has been pretty good. The food is not good and definitely needs to improve. The variety is good but quality needs improvement. At this point, I wouldn't be quick to recommend them to friends and family. Overall, the facility is ok but definitely needs improvement.

The number one thing is keeping good staff including director and management. Also the kitchen prep staff. She was there for a month without the heating and or AC. Called them four or Five times and they finally hired a new facilities director and replaced with a new unit. The food service now is much better, they have had turnover in staff which does make it suffer. They have also had some problems with housekeeping in addition. It is the main areas that need the work especially the hallways and carpets. They are certainly working on it and I believe it will be resolved. The apartments have been updated but hoping the rest of the whole building will be updated at some point. Activity director is phenomenal and do a great job.

The situation here is the Frontier company bought this place from Brookdale about a year ago. Before that Brookdale as we understand it when they were going to put it on the market they stopped putting money into the facility. The Frontier group bought it and there was an initial period where there was lack of leadership and direction. They did hire a new executive director in the last 3 months and he has experience in the VA healthcare system. He is doing his best to bring up the quality of the place and he is doing a great job - he is very hands on and we have seen those changes he is making, he knows what he is doing. There is a new independent living director and he is making improvements to this side of the facility. They have just hired a new chef and he is improving the quality of the meals and doing his best. They are updating the facility and doing new landscaping. They are upgrading a lot of things. We like that They do not require huge down deposits and they have month to month leases. We love our apartment, we have 2 balconies and also get a lot of natural light in here. The unit sizes here are much larger than other places that we looked into. Our apartment is 1330 square feet which is the largest we saw and we have huge walk in closets. The only thing we do not have is an oven. The facility has more of a campus like, relaxed appearance. There is a lot of outside space and greenery - they are working on new landscaping as well. We would recommend the facility to others looking - they have a lot of potential and they are slowly making changes step by step.
