Some staff are not well trained or experienced. Administrators did not follow through with commitments after my mother passed and we moved out. I would recommend this facility as long as it is right for the individuals needs. The staff are really nice.

Quality of food - need more fresh foods & less packaged foods like fruit & vegetables and backup food choices if the resident doesn't like the planned meal .Pay the caregivers more instead of the administrators . Clean the rooms regularly without the resident having to ask

Very costly but hopefully in line with other such facilities. Smaller number of residents is good. Be helpful for staff to identify themselves when we call. We were attracted to them because of the room availability and location relatively close to family. I would recommend to others.

There are a couple of CNA that have taken great care of dad. A new administrator was hired in October and everything changed. The current administer is does not really care about clients. She is manipulative and tends to shade the truth.

Our overall experience has been good. I like the idea of someone always being there to watch them 24/7. also, this place is not that big and I like that. They have great family get together parties almost every month, which is a nice. I picked this community because it was close to where I live. The other communities I looked at were more expensive and they did offer some more stuff like exercise rooms, etc. but this is a good place for the money.

We find the Executive Director and the Social Director excellent in engaging with the residents. The housekeeping could be better. Mom has a little throw rug that hasn't ever been cleaned (I used a vacuum on it that was left outside of her apartment once). The laundry isn't done as regularly as may be needed. I've had to point out dirty clothes that Mom has tucked here and there. All in all, we are pleased. We would recommend New Haven to others.

What our family likes the most about the New Haven Assisted Living community is the smallness of it as well as the layout. We really like the staff members that work there as well as the overall care that is provided for the residents. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families

I loved that they cooked the meals and cookies right there in the middle of the home where everyone could see and smell. It never smelled like a nursing home. I would recommend to others.

The community is convenient for our family to see our loved one on a regular basis, and we didn't have to drive far. My loved one seems happy here. The staff are attentive to our loved one's care. The care of my loved one is being watched closely and this makes the family happy. The community works well with hospice. The staff are responsive to the family's requests for our loved one. There are no more than 11 residents in the community currently; however, they are able to accommodate 14 residents. Most of the time the community is a little over half capacity. Some of the care provided by the community: medication management, bathing, hygiene, and dressing assistance.

I worked with residents and patients there. The food is amazing. [name removed] the chef is always asking how to better improve the menue. The residents are always happy and busy. I would recommend the community.

Overall I think New Haven of Bastrop is doing a pretty good job. They are short handed just like everyone else right now, but aside from that I think everyone is doing the best that they can do. I would recommend this facility to others.

I toured this community and it was ok. The dining area was a good size, very spacious. The resident rooms were kind of small. What we didn't like was the restroom situation. They didn't have restrooms with each room, restrooms were shared. They had 2 or 3 common restrooms for about 16 residents. This wasn't ideal for us and our loved one's needs.

I would recommend you checking out the community to see if it would be the right fit for your loved one. This is a nice and clean community. The community didn't have enough qualified staff to provide individualized care for my loved one. There is no nurse on staff in the building each day, and this was a big concern for me for the care of my loved one. The residents had their own rooms in the community.

I toured New Haven Assisted Living and Memory Care of Tomball; the gentleman who showed us tour was very informational and friendly, he's the new manager. I felt that there wasn't much help on the floor, he did talk about hiring more staff. We chose another community because the rooms were too small for both of my parents. It might have been good for one person, but for two people it was a little small.

Nice community, it was too big and didn't have a secure courtyard for the residents.

As with any care facility, family members are an important part of the care team. I believe New Haven staff strive to offer the best care and they do seem to listen to family concerns. There was a bit of disorganization with mom's care in the beginning and it was important that knowledgeable family was on board to clarify needs. The environment is upbeat and happy.

Due to the shortage of workers some of the things are lacking at the community but with the correct staffing there could be changes and it used to be a priority. Delicious meals and I eat there a lot. I notice that when I do eat they always have extra meals prepared just to share. You become a part of their family, they treat you like you belong.

Overall it was a pleasant environment. The staff was extremely friendly. My loved one said the food was just okay. But she really liked the activities and how they kept the residents busy with Bingo and stuff like that. I would have liked for them to have some additional care features, like bed sensors that prompt them to check on residents when they get up in the night.

we did a virtual tour with this community and it was good. The staff was very friendly and they answered all our questions. Pricing was higher than other places we looked at.
