We toured Inspired Living at Ivy Ridge and it was a no from the moment that we walked in the door. The urine odor was absolutely awful. We wanted a place that did not have that typical "nursing home" feel to it and we got that immediately here.

Do not go here, do not put your loved one here. This is one of the worst experiences I've had. The biggest issue right now is about a month ago, there was mold growing on the grates of her two air conditioning units - one in the family room and one in the bedroom. I reported it and they blew me off. I had to go over and take photos because they said nothing was wrong with it. When I showed them the photos, then all of sudden they said, "Oh ok we will go up and clean them". They wiped off the grates. Last week my mom had to go to the hospital for something related to her heart. I went over to Inspired Living late Thursday afternoon to get her room ready for her release on Friday. Upon going there, I noticed it hadn't been dusted and it smelled horrible when I walked in the room. My sister turned the air conditioning unit down to 68 when mom was gone because it was always hot and muggy. It reeked like mustiness, so when I started looking around while dusting I bent over to wipe off one of her chests with my microfiber clothes and the entire bottom of the chest had mold on it. When I pulled it off the wall the entire backside of it was covered in mold as well. I went into the bedroom and it was all over her bedroom dresser and her bedside table. Everything in that unit, for a month, had been feeling wet. In fact, it's so bad that there was condensation inside of a plastic container I got her from Publix. Even the kitchen cabinets had mold inside of them. Before I discovered the mold on those surfaces, they told us to buy a dehumidifier and DampRid when they cleaned the grates off. We bought two canisters of DampRid, but did not buy a dehumidifier. I didn't think that was something I needed to invest in, as they should already have properly working air conditioning units. We couldn't bring her back when she was released on Friday, so we had to bring her to our house. They agreed to put her up in this corporate show room that has no kitchen table and no bedside table. It's barely furnished. They've quarantined her room and we can't access any of her belongings. Now she is in a room that's God awful, I mean it looks nice because it's their showroom, but it has none of her belongings. We had to take her cat away, and there's not even a kitchen table, only two chairs. She's been eating meals in her room, but she has to eat them in her lap. I've had to bring things like a TV tray and a lamp because the bedroom is missing those things. She's also at the very end of the hallway which is really far from the elevator, and they're not even helping her. I reported this last week on Thursday and they haven't talked to me about a game plan. We had to go back on Tuesday to ask about it, that's when they told us they had just gotten approval from corporate to hire a mold remediation company. All of her clothes are in there, she also has upholstered furniture alongside a brand new sofa. I'm very concerned about her mattress or if there's mold inside of her furniture. When I spoke to the Executive Director I told her that I wanted to know who was doing the mold remediation and that I needed a copy of the report before I moved her back in that room. She replied and said that she couldn't give me that. I also let her know that I didn't want to move her back in unless the air conditioning unit was replaced. She replied that IF the mold remediation company says it needs to be replaced, then they will; but if not, they won't - as it's up to them. I didn't agree with that, they should replace it regardless. I took her to the doctor yesterday and Inspired Living said they disinfected and cleaned her walker, but upon putting it back inside my car I noticed that the entire bottom side of it was moldy. There's a velvety-Velcro fabric that she can attach things to, and the whole part was moldy. Now I have a [age removed] year old mom who is crying and out of sorts. She just wants to be with her stuff and with her cat. It's been a week now, she's in this temporary room and I don't know when or if she will be able to move back. If that room smells like it did last week, there's no way we will move her back in. Even the temporary room she's in, is hot. It appears that the air conditioning is on and blowing cold air, but when you take a few steps back it's actually blowing hot air. I don't think it's safe and I'm wondering how many more rooms and residents have mold, but they don't have any family who are checking in like I am. I would not recommend Inspired Living at Ocoee. They have a great sales team and they did a great job to sale the place to us. I guess we didn't look beyond that, because if I did, I would have never put her there.

Moved my mom in [date removed] to AL. Within 2 months the chef, nursing director, activities director all vanished. Food is like prison food-bologna sandwiches for supper! Had to beg to get my mom's apartment cleaned so we did it ourselves multiple times. This place will not stay in business much longer as it is still almost empty and another woman moved her mom out the same week we did. The good nurses also left. Staff is nice and friendly but they seem to be eating a lot all of the time.

The Chelsea is not a healthy place for your parent. They are very short staffed and don not train their staff to be considerate and caring Most of them can barely speak english and this is difficult for old folks The aids and nurses are overworked and irritable and short with the residents. I even had an aid yell at my father. The medical support is weak. The place is often dirty and unkept Don't be fooled by their tour. The management is uncaring also

Okay something smelled on the care cost side. $1200 highest care costs while all competitors are twice that. Did not make sense. Then told to review articles about Meridian the owner. Build the facilities, gets them in, and then flips it and you are stuck with new pricing. [name removed] is out with COVID. I was very excited about this place but now it makes me sick inside to move my dad from CA and get into a hot mess.

My parents have lived at this facility for seven weeks. We have experienced that the facility does not live up to their motto that "we take care of moms and dads". My parents and I have had a negative experience with the executive director and the associate executive director (nursing) revolving around communication of which there have been four issues that have resulted in significant stress for us. I have 25 years of healthcare management experience and I decided to write this review after my dad was not interviewed after I reported that insulin pens were missing from his refrigerator. The resident and family experience and getting what you are paying for is not #1 right now. The marketing events and great move-in specials are smoke and mirrors.

Residents were totally not engaged. They were just sitting in the front vestibule in their wheelchairs. There some who smelled. Only one or two of the staff really interacted with them. It was more of a nursing home than an assisted living.

Chelsea is all about the money. Their assistance is very inconsistent. The nursing staff (DON included) have their own agenda. Sadly, they jump to conclusions without asking questions. They will add on $25 if you look the wrong way here. Beware, all is not as it seems. It is bright and clean and the food is good, I'll give them that. Laundry is "supposed" to be done weekly. My mom has gone 3 weeks without a pickup in the past. The family always has to poke around and ask a lot of questions as to why mom isn't always getting what she needs.

Inspired Living is a community that does both regular assisted living and memory care and during the short length of time our loved one was there we had two big key points as to why we moved our loved one out. We found the memory care part of the community to be neglectful in a sense that the manager and staff did not pay as much of attention as we would of liked. They said they had social activities that were supposed to take place but they never did. During meal times the residents were not closely paid attention to, we never really saw them helping them. Also we because very concern with the medical side of things. Their visiting doctor that came once a week only seemed to prescribe more and more medication that made our loved one so drowsy they were like a zombie. Our loved one came into Inspired Living relatively sharp cognitively, and still able to walk around. In the short amount of time they were there they never left a wheelchair and were in a state of mental fog. We did follow ups with management and after speaking with other families it had seemed they were experience some of the same things.

My loved one was here for one month. They were extremely short staffed while he was here. They were horrible with communication, especially their doctors that we switched over too. They provided us with many numbers in the beginning we could call and none of those worked. His room always smelled of urine and it was not clean, they put him in double diapers and that caused many UTIs. They had a major lack of attention and it was a terrible experience. He passed away and we never even got a call or card from them, they showed no sympathy. I would never ever recommend them to anyone who is looking.

My parents lived at Inspired Living at Lakewood Ranch from the time they opened. When they opened we had great hopes for the facility. In the almost 4 years they've been open, they are now on the 9th Executive Director. They even changed Executive Directors during the pandemic. This once again cause loss of key personnel. I've had many issues over the years, including my parents getting stuck for 45 minutes in the elevator during a power outage! Their cleaning crew has never been good but I've found out this week they are horrid now given th pandemic and noone is inside checking on them. After the new ED came in and their best nurse left I started looking at other facilities. I found that they are gouging me on cost. I've been able to cut the costs by about 40%, and the new facility provides a higher level of care. I moved my parents into a brand new full memory care facility with amazing care and attention this week. They are so much happier already. I was not allowed to go in and pack and move them, had to have their named movers do it. When their belongings arrived at the new facility I was called by the Executive Director to tell me their beds were in awful condition, I needed to buy new ones (theirs I had bought 2 years ago but they weren't keeping the mattress pads on it). Also that their clothing was in awful condition, smelling of urine. The furniture was caked in dust. Before the pandemic I went in 2-3 times a week and picked up their apartment, always telling them what wasn't being done. It appears since I haven't been in there they have not done their jobs. Also, in the time that I gave them notice they ran out of one of my dads meds and I had to complain to get them to fill it (I pay for them!). I also found that some other things happened that they should have called me about and never did. I have called the parent company CEO in the past to voice my issues but they were never addressed properly. This place has had ups and downs since they opened with all the turnover, but this is outrageous what is going on now. Don't let the nice pool fool you, your loved ones need much more.

If you are considering Autumn Leaves for you loved one- run the other way - fast. My husband was there for 2 weeks. Prior to his admittance I had toured twice, the staff was convincing, the place looked well planned. When he moved in on March 19, 2019, he was walking with no assistance, had no sores or wounds on his body After the first two weeks (they don't want you to visit the first 2 weeks) he collapsed, was sent to the hospital with pneumonia, multiple pressure sores on ankles, heels (stage 2), hip (stage 3), buttocks and back (stage 2), swollen legs and feet, rash, irregular heart beat and could not walk or stand on his own. With out my knowledge he had been given a drug that has a black box warning from the FDA that says "do not give this drug to elderly demintia patients"

Run the other way. My husband moved in March 19. He could walk without assistance and had no sores or wounds on his body. Two weeks later, he was in the ER with phneumonia, mulitiple bedsores (stage 2 and 3), swollen legs and feet, rash, irregular heart beat and could not stand or walk on his own. They do not want you to visit the first 2 weeks so you can imagine my shock when I saw him in the ER. This place looks good and sounds good but there is a definate lack of care.

They were warm and sweet and friendly and listed all of their amenities and boasted just how lively and wonderful this place was. Petrified to make this next step for my parent, I felt this place was thriving and the answer to our prayers. Sadly it was not. The staff is denfensive and moody the minute you have a problem. You can never get a hold of anyone as the aids and staff that take care of your loved one are not consistent. There are limited activities. The worst part- items missing, stealing, and staff members on their phones. While there are some lovely people, the charm and excitement to get my loved one was enough to sign the deal, and I haven’t seen any of that love since. There’s a lack of humanity that I’m not sure is a trait one can fix.
