I cant speak to the Assisted Living side, but the Memory care unit is a disgrace. It was bad when it was called Inspired Living and since it was taken over, things have gotten much worse. Memory care residents, many with very advanced dementia are basically ignored all day. The staff is totally unqualified to deal with dementia patients. They dont have an understanding of the disease or how to help/care for those suffering. Loved ones are basically warehoused here. The very basics that should be provided: hands-on care, interesting activities, frequent changing (diapers, etc.), etc does not happen. Management is not pro-active. Instead they turn a blind eye to what is going on. Overall, you have a group of "caretakers" who could care less about their job and the people they are supposed to care for.

This facility is not equipped to handle memory care patients. They are woefully understaffed and those who are there either don't speak english, have no compassion or both. Dementia patients require a set of specific skills and none of the aides here have those skills. People are often left by themselves-aides are inattentive and unengaged. They sit on their phones all day instead of interacting with patients. There has been a ton of turnover here because they cant find qualified people. The State of Florida should look into this place because from what i see, the "care" is neglectful. Management takes no action to change things. Most of the aides need to be fired. Assisted Living side might be ok, but memory care section should be shut down.

I dont understand how anyone has written anything positive about Bella Mar (formerly Inspired Living.) The memory care staff, with the exception of a few people, are a lazy group who are un-engaged, lack compassion and do the absolute minimum necessary. Residents are left unattended for hours with virtually no social activities or supervision. I've seen residents crying and being ignored instead of comforted...or sitting in soiled clothing for hours. Complaints go absolutely nowhere. There is a nonchalant attitude and lip-service instead of dealing with issues head-on. Frankly, I have knots in my stomach every time I visit because I don't think its even a safe environment. They are understaffed and aides have no supervision or accountability...let alone empathy for residents. The overall lack of care warrants a visit from the state...which might be my next step. If I could transfer my loved one to another facility, I would in a heartbeat.

If we could give the overall experience a 0 we would. Very few competent nurses on staff. Aides had limited training. Limited in number. One aide appeared to be developmentally disabled and would yell at clients. A few disruptive clients got one on one attention while others did without. My mother fell out of bed several times and wound up in the hospital. Feces on the hand rails and doorknobs . Response to request for cleaning very slow. Placed my mom during summer. They said they could handle dementia patients but very obviously not equipped. Arrived to celebrate her birthday ( live out of state) found her slumped in her chair in dining room, unresponsive. Called for nurse and they had to call ambulance. In addition, I observed that the medication drawer was left open and unattended several times This was a very "pretty " place . I would not recommend it to anybody. They just wanted to fill their facility.

UTI - specimen never pick up, Dr very angry Over weekend, no garbage Pickup. Called no answer, so I put it into hall! People who should be in memory care,walking around unassisted in assisted living. But, she got her sale!

If you like the price to go up 3 times in 6 months. He had a broken wrist and bed sores. They never informed us of injuries and money price increases. When they took [cost removed] out of the checking account without an explanation I Gave them a 3-month notice for moving out. Then when I moved him out they told me I didn't give the notice and tried to charge me [cost removed] They play a great game with your health and money. Don't let your loved ones go there.

I would not recommend.

I have a relative in this facility which does not have enough personnel and the ones there don’t have empathy for these patients. The cares they are a lot on their phones, that door that goes out the packing patients escape from back there, the alarm of that back door doesn’t sound to loud. No one can hear it from up front. They are not really pain attention to these patients. No commitment at all. I saw and witnessed it myself. And I spoke about it to the director [name removed], and nothing was done about it. After that incident they treated me like it was my fault And when I go the other side it always smells like urine. There’s a male patient always lock up in his room screaming for help and no one pays attention to him.

[name removed] passed away [date removed]. He got a blood infection during his 13 days there. He got septic was on a vent in the ICU for several days. I got him home with Hospice. I don't recommend that place at all. Not enough staff at night and to get better care and supervision you have to pay more. I regret going there and [name removed] deserved better. My heart is broken over it.

My family member past less than a month ago, I witnessed several times people not getting treated fairly. Witnessed drinks taken away from residents, I am sure it’s because people not wanting to help with restroom issues, There was a new man that I believe was maintenance that was trying to make a difference doing things to better the place, was very polite and patient with the residents. I am relieved that my family member has passed so I am not having to worry about his care, or people not speaking English, I got tried of requesting the littlest things repeatedly. Soap to wash hands, the TV to work, clothes to smell clean. Room to be cleaned. This is not a cheap place, you are getting fooled by the staff that people care and are taking care of your family member, being feed the same food every week. I hope the state makes a visit and shuts the place down. The manager is rude, and doesn’t appreciate the 1 or 2 good employees that she does have, she should hire English speaking

Don't go there unless your entire family speaks Spanish or Haitian. Only the always absent office staff speak English. The meals were disgusting.

Sadly, the staff at Inspired Living at Delray are inattentive and not very caring.

Bridge to gazebo is rickety. I got a sliver in my hand from the railing. Also could be dangerous if someone fell. They could easily fall into the water. It should have vertical supports to the railing to prevent someone from falling in the water.

They feel 30 min. is an appropriate wait time after pushing the call button that residents wear. However, my mother's waits were much longer and often left unanswered. We had to find another place for mom after many meetings, emails, phone calls, and promises from staff as Inspired Living was not a safe place for her.

They promise they can meet all needs when they can't. There is a lack of compassion. My husband fell twice in 4 days and they were just concerned that I might be bad mouthing the place. No one asked how he was. I took him home on the 4th day when I went there at 10 in the morning to find him on the floor and no one had been there to give him meds at 6am and no one had checked on him that morning. Who knows how long he was in the floor.

They have 2 CNA’s for 30 memory care patients. The place looks beautiful They have a lovely menu for dinner but never ask what they want. Just puts down the same dinner for everyone Will have to hire someone to come in because they don’t have enough staff It’s been a long road and we thought we had found a place. This is so upsetting

Make sure you give your 30 day notice before you new bill will be due because If you stay one day over the 30 Days you are not prorated you pay a full month. TOTAL [profanity removed]!! Read all the fine print.

My husband got a blood infection at Inspired Living and was medically mistreated there. They have now blocked me in their email. I don't think they're trustworthy. They poorly transitioned him from home to memory care. And they failed to update me with critical challenges he experienced in in the 13 days he was there. He went to the ER three times in those 13 days, by ambulance, which I had to pay for. He ended up on a vent and septic. He is now at home with me in hospice care for his final days. I want my money back, even though I know that's impossible. They don't deserve it. I regret ever taking him there and trusting them.

The rooms were awful. My loved one was there a short period of time. The interaction with the staff was okay. Overall, I would not recommend to anyone.

I think people need to understand that these facilities want people to rent their apartments, they are not interested in the appropriateness of the patient. They say that they will be able to care for people and be able to handle their needs, but a lot of times it is not appropriate for what they provide. They really did not evaluation of my mother at all. She had a walker and they put her the furthest away from the dining room and also they never walked with her. She walked in here with a walk and within less than 10 days she was unresponsive to me. She had a huge decline just within a day and no one called to inform me, because they have no one to asses the residents. She had not eaten in 6 days and no one told me that. The only reason they called me was because she fell. They promise a lot of things that they would do and did not carry through with any of them. It is a beautiful place but I would tell others to be very careful. It was a horrible experience. They should have known that my mom was not appropriate for the type of care that they said that they provided. It would be a great place for someone who is more independent and just need a little bit of care, but for those who are more elderly and frail and need more health needs, I would definitely not recommend them. They are more worried about filling the bed rather than caring about the patients needs. Make sure to advocate for your loved one.
