I visited many retirement centers in St.Louis County but only one was outstanding. I immediately felt like this was home with such a loving staff and the many friendly residents. Activities are abundant covering all interests. This is a gem.

The staff is friendly and helpful and the place is good for what it is. Independent living is nice and there are amenities close by if you're mobile. It wasn't a good fit for us, as our resident needed more care than they were able to provide so we found other accommodations. The food is all in house and the staff is attentive although I felt that more care could be taken in the presentation. When the food is talked about as good and important, it should be presented as such. While our resident found it very tasty, when we dined it was adequate but not as good as I thought it would be.

I am still satisfied with Sandy being at Delmar Gardens. Of course there are glitches, human errors, and such. My level of satisfaction is unchanged. I would recommend it

The community is older and the color scheme is a lot (but that is by design). I wish there were more common spaces. Pretty much everything is centered around a large room that they refer to as the auditorium. The apartment size is what sold us. The layout is very well done so that you can easily layout furniture. Although their 2brm is only 782 sq ft, it feels much larger. There is also a lot of natural light. The kitchen is small but with dining the need is minimal. We got off to a bit of a slow start with PT and OT which was a little frustrating. With that said, the staff there is very nice and engaged. The food overall is good and plentiful. I would recommend the community.

My experience has been mixed. The activities seem okay, although I haven’t participated in any yet. The facility is not very large, and while my apartment is small, it is nice. However, I feel there could be more value offered compared with other places. The food has been very good, which is one of the positives. However, I have had difficulties with some services and communication. After touring the facility during winter, it has been challenging to remember where everything is now that it is summer, and I wish there had been more guidance and support getting familiar with the location. I have also had concerns with my medication management and communication with staff. I had a negative experience with a nurse who made me feel judged and did not listen to my concerns about my medications. I believe better communication and attention to residents’ needs are important. Laundry service has also been frustrating. My laundry was supposed to be picked up and returned on Saturdays, but this has been missed several weeks in a row. I was told it would be handled on Monday, but the repeated delays have been disappointing. There are also restrictions on having cleaning supplies in my apartment. I understand there may be safety reasons, but the cleaning provided only happens once a week, and I would prefer to have more control over keeping my own space clean. Overall, there are some good aspects, especially the food and the apartment, but improvements in communication, organization, resident support, and service consistency would make the experience much better.

The assisted living is pretty good, my mom can be difficult, so my expectations fluctuate. I would recommend, it's affordable, and pretty good.

No other assisted living has a balcony, a full kitchen (including a stove and dishwasher) and a big storage locker for things like seasonal decor, things not used on a daily basis. Although my mom doesn't use it, there is an indoor pool and hot tub! My mom also really appreciates that they have cloth napkins and table cloths at dinner time and they have a great menu to choose from. Positive would be the facility itself. Bright and cheerful. I'd just like to say that taking over caring for my mom has been an ongoing education and would like the nursing staff to know I understand they have a tough job but keep in mind it's also tough from my side too and too keep working with families on educating them on things like state guidelines concerning medication, understanding how to better communicate with our loved ones in the assisted living facility etc.

The staff in independent living is very attentive and steady. They do not turnover staff for that position so they really get to know the residents. They are helpful, kind, patient and courteous.

Very well to date. She moved in mid December and was anxious and agitated and they gave her sedative like Seroquel, too much so she was practically comatose. They reduced dosages and now she is doing well. She is contented now and has been for more than a month. I am comfortable with her being there.

It has sometimes been difficult to communicate with the staff. The friendliness stood out.

The Bus service is great! Lots of activities are available. The Workers are really helpful. The Rooms are well-lit and homey. Also Pets are welcome. Yes, I would recommend Garden Villas South to other families.

The facility and grounds. are beautiful and the gathering room downstairs with the bowling alley was utilized several times by our family in celebration events for my mom.The staff was easy to work with and responsive when issues arose. The biggest concern which was brought up by many people at mom's table was the food. I would recommend that the facility do a good review of food types and preparation.

The community is filled with caring people. It's not perfect, but they do care and yet their best. The residents are treated as family and they're are lots of fun activities. At times, they do not answer call buttons as quickly as they should, but complaints usually result in changes for the better. My mom is doing so much better here than in her previous facility. She complains, but mostly is about small things that aren't about her care.

The staff is friendly, attentive and provides a good variety of activities. The cleaning staff had lots of turnover. WiFi is weak. The transportation is not easy to use. Better off using Lyft. Apartments are spacious and good value overall. Dad also liked the food

Caring staff, lots of activities, Room sizes are equivalent to other assisted living. Facility layout is good.

I wish the residents could keep meds like asthma inhalers with them instead of having to ask for them every time they needed them. They are having a hard time adjusting.

4.5. The staff are extremely helpful. We did a lot of shopping around in our search for an assisted living facility. [name removed] and [name removed] were top notch and great to work. We are confident in the decision we made for mom.

The staff is always friendly and helpful with anything that ask for and if that can't help in that moment they will find someone that will.

This facility has some really exceptional staff members! It is a comfortable place to live!

They have been very good to work with and my cousin is pleased with the facility. My cousin feels very comfortable in the apartment and I think it's a good size for him. I haven't actually seen it, so I can't be more specific. He has had no complaints about the food, but hasn't given me any specifics.
