Constant Care Management

My husband and I are very satisfied with the care our loved one receives at Stoneybrook Memory Care. Margaret never had children, but we have been close friends for about 50 years. Her family lives in California, and are unable to care for her needs. So we are blessed to be her family here. We are so thankful that she is able to live at Stoneybrook. The staff and caregivers are so loving and kind, as well as very professional. We always recommend this facility to anyone who has a need.

Very friendly staff. Wonderful care for Mom. She enjoyed the other residents, and really liked the food. Great experience.

This was formerly an Autumn Leaves. Like Autumn Leaves, there were so many windows and lots of light. The courtyards were pretty. Almost all of the residents were participating in the scheduled activity. I appreciated the fact that dining was divided into three sections based on the level of care needed. Since my dad needs help in the shower, I liked the fact that the shower is not located in the room. The rooms were also a really good size. Most of all, the staff really seemed engaged with the residents. Cost was about the same as other similar facilities, but the difference was the cost is all inclusive.

Mark has been there over a week now at Stoneybrook Memory Care of Mckinney. I can not say enough good things. Staff are wonderful. I am there almost every day, and the staff are so good with the residents. So very pleased. Hard to put a spouse in a home, but know he is now safe. Thank you all. Brought in our two grandaughters, ages 4 and 8. Staff were so good with them and the residents were so happy to see young people. Made me happy. I am trying to remember the resident's names. All of them are so kind and seem happy. So many activities also!! Did not realize that they are still so lucid. Good for them!

They were wonderful. Cared for each person as an individual. Unfortunately, they have limited medical. So when [name removed]needed a catheter he could no longer live there. It was sad.

What we like the most about the community is the friendliness, responsiveness to the families and the peaceful atmosphere. Yes, we would recommend Grand Brook Memory Care to other families.

One of the man reasons we chose GB was because of the inclusive pricing. The other MC locations we toured had different costs for varying levels of care and it got very confusing very quickly. Since selecting GB and moving my grandmother in, the staff has been friendly, the facility seems to be maintained well, and her overall care has been adequate.

My husband was in the last stages of Parkinson's and he died one year ago, in February. He was in hospice and I liked that hospice took care of him from 6 am to 2 pm then the GB staff managed him the rest of the day. They got acquainted with him fairly fast. They could tell he was very sweet and treated him kindly. After his death they helped move out his belongings, so they could give me a prorated refund. I had a good experience all around, in spite of very difficult circumstances.

The staff was okay. Everyone seemed friendly and professional. Staffing appeared to be understaffed but that's rather common. I would rate food as a 4 again okay, I believe it was brought in from a vendor. I'd give activities a 5, Mom really enjoyed the times they had music. Room size was adequate but house keeping was sometimes a little iffy.

Visit the facility. Check on the facility activities for every hour. Make sure the workers will come get the patient for the activities.

Staff is kind caring and responsive. Facility is a warm atmosphere. The activities staff really keeps the residents as active as possible.

The improvements would be to answer the doorbell more quickly. I appreciated their willingness to take my husband on a daycare basis when I needed it. We would absolutely recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

I think nobody can always be perfect. So hopefully they they are trying to do their best

Always good to visit several times to see how the day goes when looking to find a place for your aging parents. They are willing to work with the family to find the best care and value for her money. I do visit my mom everyday and on weekends the grandchildren visit. I would definitely recommend them to others.

Grand Brook Memory Care is a very nice facility. The staff is caring and they listen to the concerns of the family. There are a lot of activities and they care for the residents quite well. I personally am pleased with the care my Mother is receiving. I would recommend this facility to anyone whose family member requires Memory Care.

Given that there is no perfect place when a loved one reaches this point with dementia, I would strongly recommend Grandbrook; in fact, I have recommended it to a number of friends seeking care solutions. I think they do very well, in spite of the typical challenges, facing a dementia care community. The core team of directors are excellent, very caring, and make the place feel like a family, especially [names removed] Staff turnover at Grandbrook is lower than many places, but it is still a big issue. This means we have lost a number of really great staff members over the last year and a half, and they are generally always integrating new people, which could be hard for the residents. Aside from concerns over too little staff present on weekends, my only real concern is that they have had trouble keeping a Director of Activities on staff. This means the residents don't have enough activities, and often don't have enough variety in their activities. They should definitely be getting more exercise, and should be encouraged to get outside more when weather allows, which is very often. They also need to integrate more music into the programming, rather than just playing the same movies on a loop every day. More integration of well-known research on the benefits of music for dementia patients would be a huge improvement that Grandbrook needs to consider. We as families have raised all of these issues with the Directors, and they are generally very willing to listen, but changes are slow to happen. Turnover of residence is frequent, too, so demands seem to come and go as family seem to come and go.

I would definitely recommend grand brook! It's a smaller community that is strictly memory care.

We experienced a complete dropoff of services at our mom's former care facility and had to get out. Grand Brook was at the top of the facilities we toured. There were bumps at first but now that some of the staff has been restructured, we have been truly pleased and enjoy the activities that open to mom.

Staff is very caring, easy to contact, keeps you updated on issues and events.

The staff are great and easy to work with. My only issue with the entire facility is their entry exit policy as you must be given access to enter and to leave via a code which only the staff may key in to the pad by the door. I do understand this is for security purposes but it has led to many instances of having to wait quite a while for entry or to be let out. This is a corporate policy which needs to be addressed. It was built and designed entirely for memory care patients. There's no gradation in levels of care. She has lots more physical freedom to go about throughout the facility and it's not a large population.
