I absolutely loved them. They called me back earlier this week and they've offered a kind of counter offer to what I'm paying at another place and I'm talking to my brother about moving our mom. I hate to do that because she's getting settled but I might because they have tons of activities all day long. They really keep them engaged. I think that social interaction is really important.

This was the fourth or fifth place we visited and one of our big concerns was finding a place that allowed pets. There are not a lot of places that would allow my father-in-law to move in with his dog, but Autumn Leaves allowed his dog to move in with him. When we met the staff they were warm, friendly, kind, encouraging, and sympathetic. They felt like family and welcomed my father and his dog . Everything couldn't have been any nicer, the warmth of Autumn Leaves and their acceptance of pets were why we chose them.

Amazing! Director is so good! Very impressed with facility. Very, very clean. Wide hallways. Decor was appealing. Like the separate dining areas. Staff showed care and concern to residents. Beautiful sitting areas, outdoor areas. Only concern is that mother is not as far "gone" as most of the residents. It may be more depressing for her being with more advanced dementia residents. She is high functioning I think but...I really like this place. The rooms will be very small for what she is used to. I know she will not like that at all. She will also not like the shower/bath area. But the residents seemed well cared for and the environment was inviting.

Took a tour today with director. Lovely place. Private rooms available. Residents were happy. Grounds and building are fairly new and nice. $5,350 per month for small private room which includes all levels of care. Furniture is provided with full size bed, nite stand, lamp, dresser. We can add other things to it also. No kitchen area set up, just bedroom and bathroom. Very friendly staff and chef. Dish network plug in room but costs extra. Telephone service is extra. Medication information is kept electronically with reminders to eliminate human error. They check in on patient every 2 hours/ 24 hours a day unless told otherwise by family.

Good experience

We chose Grand Brook because of the level of care that they provided and it is a very nice facility. There are fewer residents so the resident to staff was better. They have a range of room sizes, the one that she is in is more than adequate for what she needs, we may even be downsizing. they do also have shared rooms available as well. They are aggressive with their covid protocols to keep residents safe. I would recommend to others who are looking.

Absolutely thankful for this facility for being available to my mom!

We like that it is a smaller community, and especially this year they have just been amazing at adjusting to everything going on. We really have to say that we could not be happier. Our only concern through the year is that some of the staff has changed.

memory care in the time of coronavirus

In the winter of 2019, my children and I researched memory care facilities in Little Rock knowing that eventually my husband would need such. Unfortunately, he entered memory care just as the coronavirus hit. This was certainly not what I was planning for when he entered the facility! I had hoped to visit him daily once he was there. Due to health concerns our State prohibited all visits to long term care facilities (including Good Shepherd Memory Care). Fortunately the staff have been very helpful with visits in other ways. We have virtual visits via FaceTime and I get to see him through his bedroom window. This is not as comforting as a physical visit where I can hug my husband. However, the staff have been super helpful in assisting me with these "other visits." I feel fortunate to have my husband in a situation where he is well taken care of, seems content, and tends to my needs for visitation as well.

After touring many facilities, we found Grand Brook to be exceptional. The whole building was for memory care, not a locked down wing in a big facility, truly a beautiful place to call home. Staff is AMAZING, you can come and go as you please at any time of the day. You can have a meal with your loved one, beautiful out door setting. Just can't say enough good things about this place.

Great Facility

My mother-in-law has Alzheimers and is currently living at Autumn Leaves of Carrollton. She LOVES it there. They take her on outings and she participates in all kinds of activities. Friday afternoons they do Karaoke and the families are encouraged to come and participate with the residents. Families are welcome to participate in any of the activities that they do with the residents. The staff is very friendly and my mother-in-law consistently comments how "nice they are here." The only issue we've had is their laundry service. They keep misplacing her sheets and comforter, but they are always willing to look for it when it turns up missing.

... A Happy Place for Mom

Our family was totally taken by surprise by my Wife's diagnosis of Dementia. We scrambled to find out as much as possible about the disease. We were advised by Medical personnel to seek a facility where she could be properly cared for in order to give me, her husband, some relief. Our search ended when we came to Grand Brook. None of the other facilities were as well taken care of, comfortable or had that "homey feeling" of being welcome there. The personnel, from the Administration to the facilities upkeep persons were all friendly and supportive. Questions were answered and fears removed. We have been using Grand Brook for many months now and have no complaints. They take excellent care of my wife, she enjoys being there and looks forward to each visit. I trust the staff because they have been very reliable and honest. I would highly recommend Grand Brook to anyone needing to find a good facility to care for their loved one.

Grand Brook memory care is great in Fishers Indiana

I moved my mother who is 95 into Grand Brook, Fishers Indiana over a month ago. She has had dementia for the past four years. We had her in a different facility for over a year and were not pleased. So we moved her to Grand Brook. What a wonderful facility. The people are great the care is great the food is great I recommend them highly for anyone with memory care needs. It is a small facility. And a very bright and open facility. The courtyard will be beautiful this summer. They have a kitchen where they cook the food so that the residents can smell it cooking right there where they are eating. Everyone is trained As I said I would recommend it highly if you’re looking in this area.

Peace of mind

Out of all the places I visited, I liked this one best of all for my husband with dementia. We are truly like family now, and although every place has their issues & concerns, Autumn leaves staff will work with & fix any issues we may have. Always a great atmosphere & fun activities for the residents as well as family events. The food is delicious as well as nutritious & they make sure they get what each resident needs, I’m really thankful I found this place so I can relax & know my husband is well cared for.

We love Grand Brook!

My dad was actually at the Grand Brook at Allen, not Garland, but our experience was wonderful! I would highly recommend all of the Grand Brook Memory Care facilities to anyone who needed them. My dad was seen and valued as an individual, not just another resident, and all the residents were treated this way. Their needs were met according to what they needed as an individual not in a generic manner. They were always treated with dignity and respect. It seems that Grand Brook seeks to hire staff with a heart for people with memory care needs and this makes a huge difference in the care each person receives. No place is going to be perfect but my concerns were always addressed in a prompt manner and with my dad's best interest at heart. The facility is open, beautiful, and clean and very much has a family-like atmosphere. The smallest details are attended to and considered in all aspects whether it be the residents' needs, their rooms, the food, dining area, and/or group areas. Our entire family loved Grand Brook at Allen and those who visited my dad were very impressed. The last 6 months of my dad's life were very happy ones because of the care he received at Grand Brook at Allen! I would highly recommend Grand Brook to anyone looking for a place for a loved one with memory care issues.

The sweetest people I have ever met.

I cannot say enough about the wonderful care mom received during her short stay at this community. The entire staff were great with her and the kitchen staff tried to make sure she had food she liked. The community worked well with the hospice team. The caregivers eat with the residents and encourage them to be social. I have already recommended this community.

Consistency is the key.

What sets Stoneybrook-Garland apart from any other facility is the incredibly consistent care, genuine concern for your loved one and friendliness of their caregivers and staff. My mother has been at Stoneybrook for three and a half years and the other impressive part of our experience has been the unusually low employee turnover on their caregiver staff. Probably more than 75% of the caregiver staff that was there when we came to Stoneybrook are still there today, three and a half years later. The three questions I always ask my mother each time I visit are (1) is everyone being nice, (2) is the food still good, and (3) do you want to move somewhere else? She always responds yes, yes and no, this is my home.
