Based on our families experience so far we would not recommend The Barrington to other families

Our family had an in person tour and it was just okay, the carpet were nasty and the walls needed to be painted. We understand stains happen but certain parts were just gross. However we really did like that they let their residents personalize their doors and make it their own.

The people we met on the tour were super nice. But the facility was too big, a little more expensive, and not quite the right fit for my mom.

The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The facility is beautiful and resort like. They have many activities and amenities provided for the residents. They are dealing with staffing shortages just like everyone else in the industry. The staffing shortages is what leads to the lack of care services. I would recommend them to others with that caveat.

The pros are the events and the activities director. She's very kind. The cons would be communication. I feel like it's hard to communicate with the staff there since their intake is just a receptionist, and there is no voicemail. They don't really answer emails either. We've had some issues with the nurse's aides as far as medication administration and general availability for care. I think when we were being onboarded, everyone was active in the beginning, but it seemed to fall off once we were in. Also the transportation to doctor appointments is limited, so we didn't get that initially. And that was one of the big reasons why we chose them, to have that service.

We began looking for alternate housing at the request of my mother. The Barrington looked to be the best fit for her finances and location which seemed to be more important to my Mom. The Barrington is big on keeping their resident's busy. Every week seems to have some kind of trip, entertainment and activities. The Barrington does lack on communication. Usually, I , the daughter of a resident, is the one to call administration to get something cleaned or to inform them of something new in my mother's care, even though she is in the ALF area of their facility. Even though we rank them as average, my Mother is happy there.

My loved one lived here for a while, and overall it was good except for - if you had a complaint, they listened, they smiled, but then nothing ever seemed to be done about it. I think that most of the staff was very knowledgeable and caring. But not all of them.

We think they could do a little bit better job of getting things done in a timely manner

Representative was very informative although we learned that it is NOT a memory facility. Not sure if it would be the right fit for our parent.

Middle of the road.

Very good in care. the food is awful. Need balanced diet. too much starch don't have nutritious food.

Community is doing a good job- especially during this time.

Older building with very nice staff. Got locked out on the screened in porch while on tour. Clean & Nice facility.

I didn't tour this community after speaking to the person there they had said they didn't have a memory care unit. In our case, we have a couple and they needed to stay together so we were in need of assisted living and memory care. I ended up not going on the tour since they couldn't accept both, however, the person on the phone was nice and very helpful.

I wasn't very impressed with our tour of this community. Our tour was decent, and everyone was kind. The staff was friendly, and kind to my family, and I. The experience was an okay one, but I did find another community that suited our needs better.

Lake Forest Park presents as a very upbeat, cheerful friendly, caring and clean facility. The employees are well-spoken, and nice. We were interested in the Memory Care. This part of the facility is nice, small compared to the rest of the Facility and not quite as impressive. Dad has Alzheimer's -- Jayme, the tour guide said that if a patient with this disease becomes unmanageable, Lake Forest Park moves them out to another Facility. We desire to have Dad enter a Facility until death.

I'am still getting all settled into this community. So far everything is going pretty well. This is a good community with kind people. They are treating me very well. The food is good, they serve nice meals. There are nice activities offered. They have a pool, and I really enjoy swimming. It is still a transitional process, but it is a nice community I would recommend.

Too far away and she didn't like going to Lawnwood

Outside activities appear limited by a dearth of grounds. Do not believe we would be interested in this facility
