A Place for Mom has scored Concordis Senior Living Communities with 8.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score based on 97 reviews in the last 2 years. Over all time, Concordis Senior Living Communities has 617 reviews with an average "overall experience" of 4.5 out of 5.
We put mom into this facility when she moved from California to Florida. We have had a few issues with phone contact that got resolved after several requests. And issues with regular mail and packages. Today we told our brother in florida another package will be sent and he said to send it to his house to ensure she gets it. That's a problem. Mail and packages were not delivered timely and/or we're held ar the front desk. We send packages and mail all over the country for the business we own. We know what we're doing. Today I contacted the facility to make sure the package is given to her when it arrives. I spoke with the new manager who's been there for less than 2 months. I explained our experiences and she said I had to use Moms9 proper first name vs. her nickname of 90+ years to ensure it gets to her. I told the manager if I i always include her first (nickname vs. Legal) and last name C/O The Barringon, the full srtreet address, room number, city, state and zip code, it should not be an issue if I call her by her formal name or nickname. She is only known by her nickname to staff that have been there for at least the 10 months she's lived there. Mail is mail and has been working longer than anyody living tnere. Most seniors have hearing problems whether they live in Florida or California. Or Timbuku. We like to use letters and care packages to fill in the gaps of short phone calls. Family contact of any kind should be top priority in any facility. ,

The hired help is great. Over worked and under paid. They are very pleasant at first impression , but as a psychologist I can see they are not happy. Seam's as though there is stress . The décor is somewhat commercial . Not a very warm atmosphere . "Homey" if u will. The office personal from whom I've had the pleasure of meeting didn't seam to be very down to earth. Lacking a bit of self confidence ? I truly felt they were also a bit commercial . The transportation vehicle's don't appear to be in very good condition. There was a bus at the front entrance that looked very old and tired. I was shown a table with all of their outings , there didn't seam to be a lot to offer. We are going to continue looking for a more " at home " home for our parents they deserve the best.

My loved one lived here 21 months. She is now deceased. She was satisfied with most everything prior to new management company taking over in fall 2013, although the food situation continues to be a major concern. There are little or no activities except Happy Hours with entertainment, & a few bus outings. No stimulation of mind, body, spirit & soul, however a certified Activity Director could be beneficial. During most of 2013-14, the pool could not be used because propane was too costly to heat it. Transportation has changed so that if Doctor appointments are not in the direction they are going that day, you are charged. It seems the executive director representing the management company only pays lip service to the plethora of complaints voiced each week. A Resident Council could best serve all residents.

Glenbrooke is a nice place. My primary gripe is the food. On a scale of 1 to 10 I rate it at 31/2. They don't seem to be interested in improving it.

My problem with Lake Forest Park is that the staff was not attentive. They evaluate the residents and charge by a point system. When my mom was evaluated they determined she would need $1000 more care services on top of her room and board costs. If I could score Lake Forest Park in the negatives for Care Services, I would. The staff was "watching" my mom when she fell and broke her hip. The staff always seemed busy doing other things, or talking on the phone, they were not spending quality time with the residents. They complained they didn't have enough help to care for all the residents paying for extra services so they brought in outside help. The contract care was really disappointing and did less than the regular staff. I would not recommend Lake Forest Park for most people, however, if the senior is able to get around and only needs meals and laundry services it is an okay place for that.

In my opinion they are not staffed well in the memory care area. I can't speak for the assisted living side. I would say they need to revisit their model . The residents do not get one on one care. They don't seem to have time to do the essentials. Management doesn't spend much time in the area to see the problems. Some of the aids here are so nice and try so hard but I don't feel like they get the support. The activities are great. They try to keep the resident busy and moving.

A lot of staff sitting on their phones, don’t watch the patients. Left my loved one 2 days with fecal matter in his pants and shoes. All his belongings disappeared and they allowed men and women to sleep in each other's rooms. The facility is nice to look at and is clean, the food is good but the care is terrible.

There isn't much to choose from here in Fort Pierce. Plus I did speak to a couple of clinicians for example physical therapist Etc. who saw patients in there. Though they didn't give it rave reviews they thought it was okay. Unless they have made some major changes you'd be doing a family and Injustice to refer them to Lake Forest. Also I was taking care of a woman at the time who had friends who lived in there but in the little outbuildings. They were satisfied with it. However since then some of that same woman's friends went there and were very unhappy in fact one state about 24 hours and had her family get her the hell out of there

My loved one is currently a resident at Alto Stuart. Previously, I would have rated this facility all at a five. Sadly, I now rate it at a 2. For days after [name removed] departed, the switchboard kept connecting us with his voicemail! My loved one, age 102, remains upset and rattled that there is no caring communication with neither her nor her family.

All looks good but transition in, is sketchy. Any needed care like medication assistance or bathing assistance is not managed properly. My parent went weeks without a shower. They made no attempt to handle or contact the family. This can lead to a serious health issue. The apartments are also not cleaned as specified. The staff will try to avoid work. They also have a hard time assisting with their TV remotes, keeping toilets functioning. The elevators go down often and if you cant use the stairs you're stuck. The management and staff change often and consistency is lost. Many are very pleasant but some bad seeds have been employed. Check IRC arrests for elderly theft for any place. Watch your family members who need help like a hawk or find a more stabile facility. On the plus the rooms and hallways are big and dining seems good. Independent-level people are good here but you’re paying ALF prices.

After touring The Barrington, it struck me that the main reason for choosing it would be because it was a very economical choice. The facility was not very clean and badly needed to be updated. And the staff were yelling in the hallways.

Promise Pointe at Tampa Oaks was a lovely facility. At first we were working with [name removed] and he was amazing. He was happy, welcoming, positive and just had a great attitude. He gave us so many details and helpful information. Unfortunately he left and the person that they replaced him with, [name removed], was the complete opposite. That ended up being the reason we did not choose Promise Pointe.

Like the saying, caveat emptor, pay attention and beware. Many of the staff are very competent, but overall the owner corporation hides in Ocala and does not care about this operation. The building shows well but your space is quite small. Your bathroom plumbing might not work. In addition: 1. Major exoldus to the director, cook, and other staff recently, and not yet replaced. 2. Activities are juvenile, or nonexistent. 3. At present, NO medical transport assistance. 4. Despite puffery of quality food, the meals are banal, tasteless, starchy, and all that is undesirable about community cooking. The cook overcooks everything and serves it cold --- quite a skill . 5. The salon has a mouthy, unpleasant operator who shows up only when she feels like it so you will be spending money on outside grooming care also. If this is quality, senior living is indeed in jeopardy.

We had a terrible tour experience. They did not have a marketing director on staff. They had just hired someone who was new to the field and the job, and that person was not at the facility yet. While they figured out who was going to take us on our scheduled tour, there was no place for us to wait when we came in, and my mother was left standing which was difficult for her and left a bad first impression. The person who ended up touring us was the activities director. She was a nice lady, but the activities rooms were in awkward places (up the elevator and down the hall). They were dark. The hallways were narrow. The carpet looked uninviting (with spots and things on it). The lighting was dim throughout. When we went into the apartment itself, it was lovely and bright. But all of the other rooms, though they were clean, looked dark and drab. I didn’t like the way the dining room looked. I was not impressed with anything about the place.

Bad food - not good. Big turnover in employees. Left hand doesn't know what right is doing. NO communication in front office. Food is terrible. Residents not told who resigned, so we stumble around looking for them and then "not employed here".

Our family had an in person tour and it is an older community, not as neat and clean but very friendly people We did like how the residents have their own individual cottages, but the amenities were much less compared to others communities we toured.
