The ED [Name removed] has always been very helpful and communicative for our family. My mother in law lives at WW and has been there for 4 months now. She is one of those people that always has something to say/complain about, so when we hadn't heard from her in a while we stopped in to check on her. She was enjoying herself with the other residents in an activity of Bingo. We heard from staff that she had been quite pleasant and was adapting very well to Assisted Living.

One of the reasons I picked Prestige is because it is so close to home and also because it is small. I really liked the idea of the apartment she was able to get. Very desirable. Besides these reasons and because I am there often, I see the genuine care, respect and gentleness each resident is given. Helping them in a respectful way when that resident is having a hard time. Every person from the Director [Name removed] to people in the kitchen give the same way make Prestige Commons a real "Place for my mom"

Today's family dinner was great, some of the family members were able to come for the first time to see this fabulous place, I keep talking about. Golden Orchards is, has been an answer to my prayers. Our father has been so content here, the staff makes him feel welcome. Thanks for the dedication to Dementia patients.

This is the third place I’ve moved my mother and I could not ask for better staff and better service. My mom is so happy and engaged every day. I love all of the carestaff and the management team works hard to have fun and meet the requests of the residents. It is nice that [name removed] holds meetings for the families. Maybe the negative reviewers should attend one of those meetings instead of putting bad reviews online. I could not be happier and it is so nice to see all of the residents thriving!

My mother is in the Memory Care unit - building [location removed] and it brings such comfort knowing that she is in a secure living facility with 24 hour staff. She was having problems wandering from her home and we had to make the hard decision to place her elsewhere last April - Whispering Woods has been a saving grace. It is easy for myself and her grand kids to visit, and even take her to lunch occasionally. The peace of mind knowing she is safe is everything!

My mother lives in the Assisted Living at Whispering Woods. We chose Whispering Woods due to the location - it is right off of East Paris, which is where all my mothers Specialists are at. We also have a family membership at the MVP across the street so we will swing by and grab my mother to join us or to relax by the pool.

Our Mother has been a resident at the Devonshire for 3 years now. Our family couldn't be happier with this facility, especially since it was bought by the Tarantino company. The team of nurses, CNA's, dietary, activities director and housekeeping makes us feel like family. Each and every one of the staff go out of their way to make our Mom feel comfortable. The piece of mind we now have, knowing our Mother is in such good hands, is beyond words. We would highly recommend the Devonshire to anyone who is looking for a safe, clean, friendly, warm and loving environment for themselves or a family member.

It's exceptionally hard when a loved one has to have around the clock care like my grandma being one of them, however having her in a place that is still allows her some freedom and keeps her smiling has been very comforting. I am so grateful for the staff at Golden Orchards and the amazing things they do with their residents. #lovemygrandmas

I am thankful my husband was able to be a resident in Memory Care at Golden Orchards. The caregivers and staff are warm compassionate people who impart serenity and calmness. The residents, as well as their relatives, are made to feel like they are a part of a family and this is home. The spacious courtyard, generously sized individual rooms and common areas lends to the overall attractiveness. My husband enjoyed the many activities and outings they provided. He enjoyed interacting with the caregivers who treated him like he was a friend and not just a person requiring their help. I always felt welcomed and it was a pleasure to see how happy the residents, caregivers and staff were.

Buchanan Meadows is an incredible place! It is tucked away in a neighbor which helps foster the peaceful, calm & homey ambience. The facility is small and cozy, the staff is warm and welcoming making you feel comfortable from the minute you enter. They (the staff) do a truly wonderful job taking care of the residents and communicating needs, cares and concerns to the family. Not only are the residents day to day needs met, the Meadows also brings in therapy (speech, physical, occupational) when needed to work with the residents so they are functioning at their highest potential. The place is piece of mind for family members who have a loved one there. Quality over quantity, the Meadows is the real deal of living a life with dignity when one is no longer to do so independently. It's the best kept secret in senior living.

My sister and I had to make a quick decision on where to move our parents. Our father was in the hospital and was reaching a discharge date and our mother could not take care of him by herself anymore. We worked with the case manager at the hospital who hooked us up with Whispering Woods. We were able to tour right away and move through the admissions process quickly that day. The hospital was able to do a direct discharge of my father a few days later and my mother joined the following week. Whispering Woods worked with the transition of my mother doing everything and helping take over the care portion of my father. They have both enjoyed the extra help and the staff. Activities have been great too, they are mingling with people their own age.

My mother is currently living in the Assisted Living at Whispering Woods, building 3. We both like the idea that it is divided in smaller buildings so she is able to meet people. So far through activities she has met a few ladies that used to live in the same area when they were younger. They go to Bingo, and get their nails done. The dining area has been pleasant, my mother is relieved she does not have to worry about providing/cooking food for herself. Everything is served right in the dining room, aka restaurant style. She also loves that staff is doing her laundry! She is truly learning to relax and enjoy herself, which is great to see because she took care of our family and father for the last 50 years of her life.

We really liked this facility, very airy and bright. [name removed] was very helpful and informative. This may be a good place for my husband.

Crystal at the Landing was knowledgeable, informative and very helpful with all my questions. I was very impressed by the staff and overall amenities offered by The Landing.

I visited this community a couple of months in search for a safe, comfortable and supportive place for my mother after losing my father. She, understandably, has been struggling with the loss of my father; the love of her life and husband of nearly 60 years. She and I both were nervously anticipating even exploring options, but we both knew she didn’t emotionally need to be alone. I can tell you, this process isn’t easy. But after some online research, I made my first call. I was instantly greeted by the warmest, happiest woman on the other end of the phone (forgive me, I didn’t catch her name) and she immediately set the tone. She transferred me to a gentleman name [Removed], who graciously listened as I rambled on and on. He invited me for a visit and I fell in love with the community. Everyone seemed so happy, and I saw my mother quietly smile and light up as person after person greeted her, and residents went out of their way to say hello. The facility is gorgeous. The food was delicious. These things are important. But what you cannot quantify is how you feel when there. It’s alive, and my mother felt it too. It is safe, warm and you immediately get the sense of belonging. I wish I could say my mother is thriving there, having found a new sense of purpose in this next chapter of life. However, I cannot. Our mother is amazing, and I am one of 3 children spread out across the country, and I (and Mom) was outvoted. I will tell you this, if the opportunity arises for her to live in VA, there is no other choice than this community. We ended up visiting several places, with each never quite measuring up to Commonwealth. We just wish they were in other states! You won’t go wrong with this community. I encourage anyone who is looking for themselves, a parent or relative, to really Center yourself and imagine living in the community. Look past the decor and pay attention to how you feel, and do the residents look happy? Are they content or HAPPY? There is a difference, and Commonwealth of Hampton gets that.

I feel really bad that First and Main is getting negative reviews from the same family members. I moved my mom in, and she is one of the first residents that moved in 2+ years ago. While there has been management turnover, it seems to be stabilized. I am very close with a few caregivers who have also been there from the beginning. The management listens to them and they have job satisfaction. The residents always look great. Not many other facilities around can get 50% attendance at almost every activity. I go in every single day to check on my mom. She is full of life and thriving since she moved in there. There are a lot of family members who love it, and I can tell you to be wary of these bad reviews as they are not true to how great First and Main is. Thank you to [Removed] and his team for all that you do for my mom!

My family has lived here many years, and it is sad to see that people are saying what they are saying. The staff hasn't had turnover, there are a lot of people who care there, including the administration. There are some people like [Removed] who complain at everything and just will never be happy in life. These people should try to contact management instead of bashing them and try to open up the lines of communication themselves. It's easy to hide behind a computer screen instead of some of these residents who never have their children come and visit.
