I would probably not recommend them. My dad was happy I was not. My mom got a bedsore that was bad enough it needed surgery and it was downhill after. She passed within a month or so of the surgery.

There are a few people that were not nice to my family members. We felt like some people were treated better than my family was treated. Cleaning was not done on a regular basis. One women was hand fed and had lots of 1.1 attention. We were told that we couldn't get 1.1 attention. My step dad was left to sleep in his chair, in the middle of the common area without socks. When my Mom arrived one day, an employee said very loudly "his wife is here now so she can babysit him". That was embarrassing and distasteful. No fresh fruits or veggies. We were told that if he can't walk on his own, he cannot be there. However, many people were in wheelchairs so what is the difference? One lady is in a wheelchair and being fed every meal. We were told that can't happen. My mom could not call into his dementia unit and ask how he was doing. He had to go to ER and they didn't help Mom load him onto the car. She is 75 years old and it wad too much for her. Mom washed his clothes and sh

My loved one was previously a resident at Shelby Comfort Care. When my loved one moved in, this was a very nice place. However, due to staff turnover (Executive Director, Activities Director and Nurse), things drastically changed and went downhill. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Shelby Comfort Care to others.

Get something in writing showing the care. It was very misleading. They did not provide what they said that they would. There was a major lack of staffing. My loved one fell multiple times under their care. There were a lot of lies from numerous staff members. There were different levels of care within memory care and I did not like that. Make sure to read the fine print. Overall it was not a good experience.

I loved the facility. I loved the activities and all the interaction I saw. I left my tour loving Bay City Comfort Care. Within an hour of my tour, I called back. I called all three numbers on the business card of the person I toured with. I also emailed twice. And to this day, I have never received a return phone call or email. That was the only reason I did not pick them. Otherwise they were by far my first choice. But I was very disappointed in their business practice.

My biggest complaint was when I cleaned out his room I found 57 packages of protein which is what he was supposed to be getting 2 each day. Also one night there was an emergency and no one would answer my phone call so I had to drive there and call 911. He needed more medical care than they were able to provide. It was one problem after another, I would not recommend them to others who are looking.

The facility was new and clean. Very friendly. Quality of care was not so good. Administration lies! They told me they would help get her on Medicaid. When the monies were running out. They do not accept Medicaid. So we had to move Mom. Very sad. There were No activities. A big TV for all to watch was all. The lying to folks to fill their beds. They could do some activities with the residents. I liked the new building.

What they could improve on would be patient care and honesty. Lots of looks and no real care. Emergency buttons are pushed with no response for hours....unacceptable. Leaving my loved one in day clothes for bed, in urine, leaving them stuck in a chair for hours crying and praying for help to come. Very understaffed. Forgetting to feed my loved one. Leaving the food on a table and not getting them out of bed so they could never get to it....for almost [fee removed] a month. Awful

I would never recommend this facility to my dog. They screwed up her prescriptions, always running out and sometimes they would be missing. NEVER enough staff. Awful food and poor management. Just telling the truth. We moved my mother back home and had a private caregiver move in with her thankfully. They put on a front when you tour. But as soon as my mom moved in all hell broke loose. Cooks quit, and staff was cooking and serving meals so unable to care for residents.

There were a few staff members who were good, but at that time they had too many duties to fill that did not pertain to their job of caring for people. My mom never had diaper rash before - here she had it all the time. She had infection, they didn't notice. No communication with medical staff. They were sketchy and did not communicate with family. They did not notice mom was not given her medication and had a cardiac event, even though she was gasping and sweating. They didn't call the ambulance even, staff ignored symptoms. If I didn't visit daily, she would have died from lack of heart medicine. The food was nutritionally void of any quality and nutrition. No fruits or vegetables, all frozen cheap foods. They did not do activities on a regular basis and certainly did not engage everyone. No value at all, since staff was untrained.

We had a TERRIBLE experience with them. I called my rep, [name removed], and told her everything over the phone. We had to move her out of there. She had bed sores within I e week! Her bed would still be wet with urine by the last afternoon. Her room was always messy. It smelled like pee. There were ants in her room. Messages weren't getting relayed from her doctor or from family. Bad bad bad

If you're considering placing your loved one at this facility I strongly urge you to reconsider. My father was admitted on a Friday and by Sunday afternoon we brought him home because we were concerned for his well-being and safety. Within the first 24 hours of being at the facility, my father had a potentially life-threatening fall that resulted in an emergency room visit. We were assured a bed alarm would be placed on the bed, it was not. The facility is severely understaffed and poorly managed. If they have the appropriate staff-to-resident ratio by law, I would be shocked. In the wing my father was in there was only one aide and one floater per shift for several residents that were considered fall risks. They have life-alert devices that residents wear. My father pushed it twice in the short time he was there with no response. Not a delayed response - NO response at all. Additionally, we learned that some of the staff responsible for caring for the residents make $13 p/ho

Untrained staff, no supervision at night or on weekends. We would NOT recommend this facility!
We toured this community and they were not prepared for the tour. There was no activity in the community and the atmosphere was very depressing.
My mom was at this place in 2019 and it was horrible. It was a sister company to the one she was going to go into. However, they didn't get the certificate for occupancy before my mom needed services. So they sent us to Hampton Manor. The place was under staffed, my mom didn't get her medication when she was suppose to, some of the techs were wonderful however not all of them. There was one nurse that has just rude, slow, and withheld pain medication from my mom. We did voice our concerns to Rick about my moms treatment but it went on death ears. He sided with his staff nurse. This place had just opened in 2019 so the facility was new and clean, however the food wasn't all that great. There were many times that you had to wait to be let in and out. Even our hospice nurse had to wait. They wouldn't give her a key fob so she could come and go. She told us that many of the other places would give her one. It just made it easier for her and the staff. I would stay with my mom through the night because she wander around. There were several occasions when my mom had fallen. The memory unit wasn't open. They didn't have enough staff to open the unit. But they had several residences that needed to be in that type of unit. When we were there a resident had fallen and broke her hip. She was yelling for help but no one was coming. My mom heard the lady and tried getting to her but ended up falling when she tried getting out of her chair. The hospice nurse said she would not recommend this place. Plus, I didn't see any activities that they did with the residents.

I would say don't go there! The communication with the families was not good at all. There is zero care at all. It has zero care for the residents. No laundry was done by the staff. They would put my loved one in other resident's clothes. The staff wouldn't come in to get the residents for meals.
