The staff was great and did everything they could to accommodate my Dad. He was only there for a couple of weeks and didn't participate in an activity because of his health.

My dad did not want to leave home, so that interfered with the overall experience. The facility was always clean. They kept you informed of any health concerns, ie falling, but never called just to tell me he had a good day which I would have appreciated. He was only there 2 months before he passed. He never really got used to being there.

It's an okay facility, but I wish we would've spent more time touring other facilities in the area prior to her arrival. My loved one, doesn't feel like their carpet is clean enough. The staff on the floor, are very nice to my loved one and to our family when we are visiting. The staff members who interact with my loved one are very nice and is pleased with how they treatthem. No signs of my loved one being mistreated. The family encourages my loved one to eat in the dining room to avoid being in the room all day. I would like to see more daily activities to have available. While I understand that costs of every thing goes up it's hard to justify more money when on a limited budget. Also, It's very obvious that the facility is showing signs of poor facility maintenance. Would like to see some pride taken in the appearance of all sides of the facility not just the front.

We have not been happy with Hampton Manor of Shelby. There is not enough care given to details. There are not enough activities. The dining experience is very poor. When I would talk to the head nurse about issues, she was combative.

When it comes to the activities and based on what our loved one is saying, they do offer bingo for the residents.

The person responsible for touring was not well prepared and could not answer some important questions. The facility does not offer a full range of activities and services for residents. Many rooms overlook a parking lot.

The price was the cheapest around for such a nice room. The girls that cared for the patients were great. My mom was a ex-smoker and unfortunately her room with a nice big window, was right by the back porch where the staff that smoked liked to hang out. I wasn't to happy about that. Seemed like a very nice place.

The greatest problem we experienced was being painted a picture that turned out completely different than the reality there. We gave up 3 weeks of fees because we felt necessary to get dad in an healthier environment that fit his needs and they would not refund the money stating that "per the contract" we didn't qualify. When I said what about the fact that they did not live up to what they promised in the contract, they just ignored me. [name removed] was so professional and kind when we visited. I was very shocked as time went on. Integrity is extremely important to me. For individuals in a higher need of care, it might be a better fit. However, the stories my dad told me about how they spoke with those people were not very good.

In the beginning process of touring the facility and talking with some staff, it seemed like a great place for my father-in-law, but it quickly became apparent that they were very under-staffed and not very attentive to his needs. When he passed away, it was difficult to reach the management to end his stay there. He was only there two weeks! No amount of refund was offered even though we payed for everything upfront. I truly feel that they only care about the money, not the care and well belling of the residents. Not happy with his stay there and I do not recommend this place to anyone.

I would probably not recommend them. My dad was happy I was not. My mom got a bedsore that was bad enough it needed surgery and it was downhill after. She passed within a month or so of the surgery.

There are a few people that were not nice to my family members. We felt like some people were treated better than my family was treated. Cleaning was not done on a regular basis. One women was hand fed and had lots of 1.1 attention. We were told that we couldn't get 1.1 attention. My step dad was left to sleep in his chair, in the middle of the common area without socks. When my Mom arrived one day, an employee said very loudly "his wife is here now so she can babysit him". That was embarrassing and distasteful. No fresh fruits or veggies. We were told that if he can't walk on his own, he cannot be there. However, many people were in wheelchairs so what is the difference? One lady is in a wheelchair and being fed every meal. We were told that can't happen. My mom could not call into his dementia unit and ask how he was doing. He had to go to ER and they didn't help Mom load him onto the car. She is 75 years old and it wad too much for her. Mom washed his clothes and sh

My loved one was previously a resident at Shelby Comfort Care. When my loved one moved in, this was a very nice place. However, due to staff turnover (Executive Director, Activities Director and Nurse), things drastically changed and went downhill. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Shelby Comfort Care to others.

Get something in writing showing the care. It was very misleading. They did not provide what they said that they would. There was a major lack of staffing. My loved one fell multiple times under their care. There were a lot of lies from numerous staff members. There were different levels of care within memory care and I did not like that. Make sure to read the fine print. Overall it was not a good experience.

I loved the facility. I loved the activities and all the interaction I saw. I left my tour loving Bay City Comfort Care. Within an hour of my tour, I called back. I called all three numbers on the business card of the person I toured with. I also emailed twice. And to this day, I have never received a return phone call or email. That was the only reason I did not pick them. Otherwise they were by far my first choice. But I was very disappointed in their business practice.

My biggest complaint was when I cleaned out his room I found 57 packages of protein which is what he was supposed to be getting 2 each day. Also one night there was an emergency and no one would answer my phone call so I had to drive there and call 911. He needed more medical care than they were able to provide. It was one problem after another, I would not recommend them to others who are looking.

I’m very disappointed with the level of care my grandma has been receiving at Shields Comfort Care in Saginaw. Every time me and my family come to visit, she smells strongly of urine, as if she hasn’t been properly cleaned or cared for. It’s heartbreaking to see her like that, and it raises real concerns about how often residents are being washed and attended to. Families shouldn’t have to worry about their loved ones sitting in that condition. I truly hope the facility takes these concerns seriously and improves the quality of care for all residents.

The facility was new and clean. Very friendly. Quality of care was not so good. Administration lies! They told me they would help get her on Medicaid. When the monies were running out. They do not accept Medicaid. So we had to move Mom. Very sad. There were No activities. A big TV for all to watch was all. The lying to folks to fill their beds. They could do some activities with the residents. I liked the new building.

What they could improve on would be patient care and honesty. Lots of looks and no real care. Emergency buttons are pushed with no response for hours....unacceptable. Leaving my loved one in day clothes for bed, in urine, leaving them stuck in a chair for hours crying and praying for help to come. Very understaffed. Forgetting to feed my loved one. Leaving the food on a table and not getting them out of bed so they could never get to it....for almost [fee removed] a month. Awful

We moved her out of there after a couple of months because they were terrible. *CONCERNS early on about low staff -no phone line for two weeks -Leave messages for [name removed] to call and they wouldn't grove them to her -Come by at 4pm and her bed would be unmade and wet from urine -They discovered her wet sheets late in the day and she had to wait to go to bed while they washed them. -bed sores -toe nail hanging off -ants -Messages not getting relayed- ear drops from the doctor- said they never received it.
