This is a hard thing to go through and it really helps to have support from the community you choose. The aides here are so wonderful and responded to what mom needed. This is an outstanding community the people there are very welcoming and sincere. The food is great also dad tries to eat with here when he can and they even said he was welcome there also. Its always clean and the grounds are maintained. I would definitely refer people here and to use a Place for mom.

The Pines of Burton is the perfect setting for my mom. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting and smells nice. She loves her apartment which we decorated with her own furnishings so it is very nice and homey. I have dined there with my mom and the food is very tasty, they have two different chefs and the food is excellent! They have a beautifully landscaped courtyard with lawn chairs and a gazebo. They also have this adorable small aviary that has finches and baby finches for the residents to enjoy, along with bird feeders scattered around the community. They also have a community garden. I would highly recommend this community to friends and family.

The Pines of Burton has become a Blessing to our family. The apartment style living they have helps keep the feeling of independence and being at home. The staff are caring and proficient at what they do. After a diagnosis of recurrent colon cancer we decided to go with a Hospice company and they work closely together with the staff at The Pines. I would recommend this facility for your family or friends.

I like this community for the care for mt mom. The staff is helpful and kind. The meals could use improvment in the menu. They do offer activites to the residents who are able to participate. I would recommend this community to other families for care and value.

This is a very good community, and I am very pleased. They are caring for my mother very well. The community is very nice and everything is clean and neat. The staff has been very good, they are very good at what they do. The communication between me and staff is great. They have very good rates as well. The director has been very helpful, she is wonderful. The food looks great and she enjoys the meals. I am very happy with everything they have for us.

My daughter works there and it’s a beautiful facility but we just couldn’t afford it. I was very impressed with the people and the place and everything but it was too expensive for my mother’s budget.

What a charming community! The staff was so helpful in this move! It is our home away from home! We are overjoyed with our decision.

We relly liked The Pines, it was a nice community and the people there were very friendly. The reason we chose another facility was location. Other than that, this one was a great choice.

Very Clean and friendly employees. Makes you very comfortable when entering the home. It makes you feel like it's not a nursing home, but your love ones home. Their rooms are very spacious and you can decorate the room that makes you love one feel like they are at their own home. My mother has only been there for about a week, but so far I'm very satisfied with the care she is receiving. They always keep in contact with the family if anything is going on with your love one, physical therapy, etc. I feel very comfort knowing that she is well being taken care of.

Licensed nursing were not on top of things, administration was not as helpful as we needed, room was not kept as clean as needed.

Three years have come and gone and as a resident my husband has had a lot of ups and downs. The statement that Parkinson's is not for sissies rings true every day and we are blessed to have the help of the caregivers at Shelby Comfort Care. Their patience, compassion and empathy is what makes our journey possible. We are very grateful for the health care staff, which includes a PA, Podiatrist, physical therapist and occupational therapist. Each of which are helpful in keeping my husband healthy, stable and viable. If you want a home where you can work with the staff and share your loved ones needs, develop a care plan, and are willing to be present; look no further!

Positive - they are very friendly and quick to respond to my mom's call button. They never make her feel like she's an inconvenience. They respond quickly to any issues that arise. There is a Bible study my mom really enjoys and there is a Sunday worship service provided. Negative - their meals aren't really geared for people with diabetes. My mom struggles with her blood sugar and doesn't have a diabetic menu to choose from.

Checked on every 2hrs..notebook with entries made on each visit as to residents status. Meals are well varied and appealing. Activities daily after lunch. Vitals taken on daily basis. 20 residents so attention to detail on each individual.

It's a nice place . It is for a person that can take care of themself on the bottom floor. The second floor is for assistant. So I'm pleased with his care here .. on weekends they do need more help!!

I'm just happy that my mom is happy. We can visit at any time. Areas to improve: cleanliness and possibly getting more staff

The staff is very polite to my parents. The food is average. The rooms are sufficient size and they do a good job keeping them clean. My Mom isn't much for activities so don't know much about them. They do have activities going on that I see. Whenever I have any issues I tell the staff and it is corrected quickly. All in all my mom is happy with the place. The price is lower than places similar. The staff is polite and very helpful. Management listens to your inputs and follows through with improvements.

I was satisfied with the experience (no place is perfect and that's why I gave it a 4). I would recommend them for assisted living. My recommendation to anyone searching for assisted living facilities is to definitely do research about the facilities, do their homework and check reviews, take a tour and talk to staff members, talk to other families that have residents living at a facility, and even check the food out. Something else to consider is what is offered on cable. My aunt liked sports; unfortunately they didn't have a sports channel so she listened to them on her radio. Most importantly people need to know the level of care their loved one needs, and to have a budget. Get a quote with the itemized pricing so there are no hidden charges. We lucked out with a special rate when signing up, so that was helpful. Everyone's needs are different. My experience was different than others, but definitely was a good one overall. I'm very thankful for them because caregiving is not an easy job and their help was very much appreciated!

I liked the lounge areas in each wing, Sunday services. I would make sure that someone checks in/is there constantly. Medicine was an issue-missing doses, missing med bottles meds not ordered in timely order.
