Our first impression we were pleased with how the place looked. We also liked the friendliness of the residents and some of the staff members. We received pricing for the room, meals, transportation, electric, water and cable but we did not discuss care giving prices. Because my parents are applying for VA benefits they were required to use at least 2 of the services at the facility. I did have to meet more than once with the head of the nursing department. I also had to meet more than once with Amy in the business office to have the incentive for moving into Brookdale Clearwater deducted from my parents bill. At this time I am noticing that a lot of changes in staffing is occurring which I hope will improve the dining experience, as well as, transportation services. There are great people working there such as Rita at the front desk. She is phenomenal and makes sure that things are getting done. There are also a couple of resident aides, Ceelee, Chantelle and Yanis. Helen is in housekeeping and she is a sweetheart. The new hire for the business office, Stephen is good too. My other favourite people are Caroline, because of her positive attitude and Lorraine in the beauty shop. My Mom gets a big kick out of her server, Leonora, in the dining room. My Dad just would like his food hot. The place is well kept. My only suggestion would be that when you talk with someone that they should write it down so they can remember to get done what you are asking them to do. We walked in the garden this week and the covered area needs a really good cleaning. And I wish we did not have to get out there through the smoking area.

They were pretty good, but huge. I liked the friendliness. The whole staff was very nice. It was right near the water, though, and didn't care for that because I could see it being evacuated during a storm.

It was hard to communicate with some higher ups. When you called never could take your call. Would take there time getting back to you if they even did. The place was clean. The staff was very friendly. Felt they were under staff at times but even with that going on always polite. For the most part they were ok. In transition care felt they didn't deal with certain situations as if they never had a dementia patient before. Felt like they needed more training. Sage staff worked really hard. It looked like there was plenty of food. There were activities planned. It started off good. My father in law was not even there for3 months they raised the cost. Then when they moved him to [name removed] 2 months later wanted to increase it again was able to keep it down but just before my father in law passed away in April was going to increase it again. Understand there will be some increases but it was a lot for not even being there that long. Our overall experience was ok. Can't compare it to anything else.

The place is much nicer than the beach house. The surroundings are beautiful and there are nice and beautiful quiet areas to walk. Don't want everything I say to be bad because they really have done a nice job of keeping a beautiful facility. I believe that my complaint is more just the overall situation of needing so much assistance and care and really having a hard time finding it.

My wife and I needed low-fat options in the food offerings. There were few. I have been working on change. But the change is slow. The activities are awful! This is our second assisted living and the other one was 100% better. At happy hour you must provide your own beverages and you must be able to play cards. There are few musical and cultural presentations. There are no games At our previous assisted living Wii bowling was popular. Sometimes planned activities are not researched. For example, a mini- golf outing was unsuccessful due to a treacherous facility. A trip was made to a historical museum. It was on a Monday and the museum is closed on Mondays. The good side is nursing and therapy. Our health issues were treated in an excellent manner. I needed physical therapy due to lower spine problems. The therapists were great. The equipment was great. A Nurse Practitioner acted as the PCP for my wife and I and did a great job.

It would be good for new residents to clarify all care needs. They didn't need to help my family member with bathing, dressing, showers. They charged him an additional fee assuming this need (though we discussed his needs at intake). We're still waiting refund of those fees. Food isn't too great. If a resident has a personal fridge, they might enjoy having some fresh fruits, snacks if that meal isn't to their liking. There were mixups with his medication administration for the first week after admission. This issue is now resolved, but family has to check on this to safeguard the patient safety. They've had some turnover there, so I think they mean well (but follow through is not always there). I'm a tough crowd, having worked in an ALF and having seen how care can vary based on family visibility/involvement. My dad is stable and they are nice enough.

It was very clean. They were very good, and always checked on my loved one. The staff was wonderful, and helpful. They were willing to work with me. Make sure that they can, provide special needs for your loved one. It was good value for the money.

The staff were very friendly. The community is there for what you need it to do. It was a decent place that took decent care of my loved one. The room with nice. The housekeeping was provided once a week. If your loved one is more on the self sufficient side, this would be a good place for them. The apartment had a kitchenette. My loved one liked the staff, which is important. Again, they were very friendly. There isn't a lot of outdoor space for the residents to walk or sit outside and relax. This was a perfect place for a short stay. The food was okay for my loved one. There were hardly any activities going on in the community. The community did have transportation for the residents to use to go to the store. It would be nice to see more arts and crafts, or games offered to the residents. Everyday there was a list of activities written down for the residents. I would use them again for a 5 or 6 day stay. Any other community they require a 14 day to 30 day minimum.

Our loved one is in very good health for her advanced age. We just felt like The Landmark was for people who were not in as good shape as she is. It felt more like a nursing home than an assisted living facility, for people with a lot of medical issues. And we were looking for a place where she could be more active and social.

My loved one went in pretty much self care, although he did have Alzheimer's. He had some pretty negative feelings about being placed at any facility, not necessarily The Pointe specifically. Once he moved in, his condition rapidly declined to the extent that he needed more help. The Pointe took a while to recognize that. Once they did recognize it, they did assist with getting hospice care set up. But even at that point, I had to have a stern conversation with The Pointe about the level of care that he needed, and I don't think it should have had to come down to that. After that conversation, they moved him to a higher level of care, but hospice had already picked him up full time 24/7 by that time.

My mom attended two weeks of respit care. Unfortunately it was not the success we hoped for. She contracted scabies. She also complained about the food. We decided on another assisted living instead. Hopefully we will have better luck there.

Our family had an in person tour and Arbor Oaks was very sad. A lot of residents sitting around in wheelchairs, idle, nothing stimulating going on except one TV was playing. Again, it may have had to do with the timing of our visit, but we left with our mindset at a "absolutely ruled out".

We had an abundance of problems with The Landmark when my dad was there. They had a lot of turn over and other issues. There were a couple of staff members who really worked hard and took better care off my dad. But there were so many others that just didn't care or weren't trained very well. We ended up moving him to a different facility.

My loved one was a resident at The Pointe, we recently moved him out. The facility is dirty. Poor service. Poor food. Medication management was poor. Communication with after hours staff was laughable. I understand it's hard to hire these days, but the level of care isn't worth the money. I would not recommend this facility to others.
