Clean and inviting facility. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Private facility. Financial planner services offered to facilitate expenses and long term care. Max 15 residents in memory care facility. facility also provides respite care for a minimum of two weeks with reasonable rates.

The director took us around. We really liked the outdorr space as my mother like to walk. Open dining concept is very attractive.

We were extremely impressed with this facility. We took a tour of the apartments, dining room and the social areas. Then after a short ride in their golf cart we visited the cottages at The Ridge. It was at this point that we felt we had found the type of retirement home that we want. Just as soon as we walked into the facility, we were greeted by a resident who took us under her wing for our visit. Later her husband, gave us the tour of The Ridge. On our return visit we had lunch with other staff which was enjoyable and delicious. We felt that this could be our retirement home.

Very professional. Elegant surroundings with the respite room quite roomy - one bedroom. Offered more services for the quoted price including hourly checks because of fall risk. However, there is an additional $500 nonrefundable desposit. Knew all requirements for TB and md form which is 6 months. Answered all my questions.

One of our top-rated places so far. The residents looked active and engaged. The physical therapy space was a real plus. They pay a lot of attention to the quality of the food they serve. The director of the facility came in and spoke to us for a while. He's very involved, which is good. My biggest reservation is the fact that there were 15 negative findings on the last relicensure site visit, which I obtained directly from the licensing body. Yet, when I asked them to show me their site visit report, they showed me something that had NO negative findings.

Merrill Gardens is also on the short list and is the family preferred options since it has great short- and long-term financial options.

Great place; if we decide to move the folks we'll go with this one.

Onboarding was non-existent felt like it was non-existent. Maybe that's because she's independent living so it's more like apartment living. Overall she's enjoying living there and has made friends and put on weight, the food is pretty good.

My experiences with Atrium Village Owings Mills have been pleasant. The facility is clean . The staff are friendly and helpful. My mom loves it here. They just need to improve with the food it is bland, and the delivery of it is slow.

Only comment for others interested: make sure you have a clear understanding of the total monthly cost of living. Some services have a monthly fee after a promotional period expires. Nothing extreme but good to know before planning a monthly budget for cost of living expense. Our mom is very happy at this place and she feels safe there.

Meals and dining - This has been hit or miss. They have gone through numerous cooks with varying degrees of skill, some much better than others. She only visits the dining room maybe 6 times a week. Value for Cost- She has lived there for 1 year. They have a bus, but no bus driver until now. She has had 4 housekeepers and is currently without one for the 1st floor. The elevator has been out of order frequently, making it impossible for her to get to the dining room. We're hoping that the change in ownership will improve things greatly once the remodeling is completed.

My loved one does not like the food, it's super traditional food, such as; lmeat, and mashed pototoes. Sometimes the meals is overcooked. They offer a lot of activities, and one per day. The process of moving in was easy, and the staff was friendly. When you walk down the hall, you get a good feeling. Overall, my loved one is happy there.

Holiday Pinecrest is awesome. Going in, they tell you you're family, and that's exactly how they treat you. My family member gets good care. Just be sure that independent living is suitable for your loved one and what they are able to do for themselves, because any help costs a lot extra. The apartment is awesome. It's just the right size for him, and all the appliances and HVAC work well. I think they could make the toilet seat higher though. They also have lots of activities to keep the residents busy.

Cadence at North Raleigh would be a very good place if you have a loved one who is mobile, and has (at least) pretty good cognition.

My loved one, eats really good, and likes the food. They offer different activities, and my loved one participates in some, such as singing and bingo. They offer exercises also. This is a really good community for dementia patients. It's really a cozy environment. My loved one is more engaged and is talking more.

I toured Holiday Carmel Place, and the tour guide was very funny & crazy. He was very pleasant and we got along well. The lady at the front desk was very nice. We visited while they were having lunch, so we were able to see the residents eating in the dining hall. The building was a lot older, and the menu at the time was below par for what we needed. My brother had a feeding tube at the time and would need quality food when it's removed. My mother-in-law also had diabetic dietary restrictions. The rooms came with a kitchenette, which may have been good for some, but not for my brother. The building was big and my brother uses a walker; they also had limited parking, and my brother has a car. There's another Holiday location that we ended up choosing. Carmel Place was close to my work, but further from my home. There were a lot of negatives; not so much within the community, but more so with us and what we were looking for. There was nothing truly wrong with it, it was just not right for us. We chose another community because what they had to offer wasn't what we needed.

This was our 2nd choice. The location was close to family, and they were willing to find a room for our loved one. The location is across the street from a fire station.
