We had a very bad experience here at this community. They were not able to provide the level of care my wife needed. During the week she was well, but during the weekend they are understaffed. She had many falls during the weekend. It is a big community, and I don't think they are able to care for that many residents. The staff was nice, and they did try their best, but they just couldn't care for her.

Initially my mother was quite pleased with the meal service here. However, it has gradually and consistently deteriorated to the point now that she dreads going to the dining room. Hot foods are not hot. The kitchen constantly is out of basics, such as fresh fruit. Service is lacking. The dining room floor space is entirely inadequate for the number of wheelchairs. I have become concerned, and we are now looking for alternatives.

The Yonkers property has been declining. Residents' happiness is no longer a priority. Here's why: staff turnover is high. Management turnover is higher. Dining staff is fewer and service is slower. Happy hours are fewer. Entertainment is lower budget and getting lower. No longer is someone on staff around on holidays to greet people and make sure the residents are happy at home. To have a guest for dinner now there is a 10 day notice requirement for 3 people. The dining supervisor made my mom cry when she turned away the grandchildren for dinner. Never happened before but now it is acceptable and management is fine with it. Corporate won't respond to suggestions. Please find another kinder, more caring community - we wish we did. (Rent increases every year about 3%)

Untrained staff, Unable to care for people who cause them difficulties. My 94 year old mother who is in a wheel chair was asked to leave unless I hired a full time aide because she caused them trouble when they bathed her. I'm not clear as to why I was paying them to care for her if I also needed to hire a private aide at over $4,000 per month to care for her. When I refused they said she had to leave.

This facility is awful ! My father was there in hospice and the CNA treated him awful. She was rough with him as far as changing him, she [removed] him for not being able to use the bathroom himself and she forced him to go to bed when he was not ready. He went ridiculous periods of time waiting for someone to answer his call button and there seemed to be a lack of care by most of the employees in this facility. Even the hospice team saw the lack of care and attention. Please do not put your loved one here, it is beyond awful.

Very dishonest sales pitch. They sell units with the lush venue. All pertinent detrimental information is concealed. Do not reveal that residents are locked in with little personal freedom. If they want any interaction there is an additional charge. Many serious injuries do to insufficient care. The only improvements made are to further restrict residents freedom.

This community sucks. They didn't do anything they said they were going to do. We were turned on to them and were willing to pay their prices, we wrote then a check then saw nothing in return. The staff is not trained very well and they do not care about your loved ones. I would not recommend them to anyone.
