Do not recommend - lack of care

That place was horrible! They had no emergency devices for patients to call the nurse. They were there but they were in operable. My mom was there for two weeks before we moved her to her house because she was getting horrible care forced to sit in a large cold room with every other patient in the place staring at one TV show not of her choice. Meanwhile they couldn't get any cable in her room for the entire two weeks enter calls for assistance and answered. To top that they recommended hospice was absolutely atrocious! Within two weeks of mom going home these women were threatening to force my father to send my mom back to known memory care Saying that he wasn't caring for her properly. They were promptly fired and green country hospice was hired who are absolutely amazing! Zero isn't an option eh? The facility is fine itself as far as the staff who clean and help. The admin is scammy. We felt like their recommended hospice was basically trying to scam us into taking her back there because dads care was better than most would do. The lack of emergency call equipment and moving all patients into one cold community room so they could be watched easier than being in their rooms is just wrong. Mom was introverted and didn't like that at all. They are more there for themselves than the patients. And that's not the caregivers it's the admin making those decisions. So give it a 1.

Stay True to Your Mission

Overall experience was just bad after we met and toured the facility they had management changes. When my mother moved in her rent amount was changed, we were unable to reach the facility to pay down payment and it ran into another month in which we had to pay for a month and half due to their unavailability. We paid it because That was the place she wanted to be. A few months in another management change and different and care expenses was changed every month my Mom rent was different, finally in November I was able to talk with someone and we finally got a set rate again very costly but again we paid because my Mom wants to be there. This Mother's Day I go to visit my Mom she's sitting in dining room with no clothes on and no addressed the problem, instead they call stating she needed to be moved to lock unit for more oversight. The place just not how it use to be I have put back in place someone there daily different hours to assure she's ok. I'm in process looking into another place.

I would never recommend this facility! The meals looked terrible and they sent my dad to Freeman Hospital because (in my opinion) they didn't want to mess with him. Freeman Hospital told me that he was healthy, but has dementia. I would never recommend this facility to others.

If the staff implies that Kingsland Walk provides skilled nursing, they are misleading you. The needs of our friend were made very, very clear and Kingsland agreed to accept her. That decision was unethical and cost my friend a lot of money. We made it clear that our friend required a Hoyer lift. We got her transferred...no Hoyer lift in the building. We bought one. They told us that until the staff was trained on the Hoyer, we had to provide 24-hr supervision for our friend. They suggested a nurse's aid. It cost a fortune before we were able to transfer her back to her skilled nursing facility.

Awful place

If you really love your family member you will not place them here, they do not take care of residents well here, my dad died here and he died with 8 bedsores, had I known his care wasn’t going to be better I would not have placed him here, I’ve reported them to the state of Illinois, so look at other facilities don’t put them here

Wickshire Canton

We did not have a good experience with Wickshire. Lots of communication breakdown. They told us that they sent the paperwork to the doctors office at the beginning of January yet I had to reach out towards the end of January to figure out where we were with all of that. That is the same day that her doctor office said they received the papers for the first time. They have been trying to charge us for the entirety of January February and March. She passed away [date removed] after only being in there for just over 24 hours yet they are trying to charge us for 3 full months. She was to have a shared room when we showed up to move her in that room was being used as a private and we had to wait for them to arrange it so that we could move her in. We have email communication with one of the directors with the date that we were moving her in which he told the office it would be The next day even though we specifically put a date on it. While moving her in, no one even talked to us. we have not been happy and just got a bill from Wickshire for over [fee removed]..

Know What You're Buying

The community is very short staffed; however, we realize a lot of places are. The staff they do have wear many hats. I would recommend you not wasting your time coming to the community. We have been very unhappy here. We have tried to address our concerns with management and the management team hasn't tried to resolve our issues for us. The management hasn't even gotten back to us about the concerns. During the tour we let the tour guide know that we had dietary restriction needs, and we were told that the community would work with us on this. The food in general hasn't been good. I don't believe the community has a dietitian on site. Some of the meals are high in carbs. There is a menu that the community will send out and there are times that the menu hasn't shown up yet and it is mid-day. The meals aren't served at consistent times for the residents.

Gross negligence!

DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE! This place has a new director who does not care about residents, employees, safety, or basic human decency! My mom would go hours without begin changed or turned (despite family and friends being with her around the clock, requesting said care! Her palliative meds to keep her comfortable were given HOURS late sometimes, again despite multiple requests from family and friends! The director blatantly disregards voiced concerns for safety and well being- even firing the few GOOD staff - for bringing negligence to her attention, they frequently go weeks without a nurse on staff (illegal, point blank) causing medications to be withheld and hospice orders to be ignored for days. Cannot keep any staff longer than a few days to weeks due to poor working environment. This place is GROSSLY NEGLIGENT, UNSAFE, and inhumane!

Our families experience - did not meet expectations

It was one of the worst decisions our family could of ever made, they did not meet any expectations. The friendliness of the staff was one of the reason we picked this community but once we moved out loved one in it was a completely different story.

Do not put a loved one here!

This place is terrible! We had hoped it would be a good place for our mom, but the care she received in just two weeks was horrendous! The staff (even the head LPN) was caught in multiple lies about bruises and injuries we discovered. Staff prefers to medicate residents, so they are easy to handle. We moved her out after two weeks because we honestly feared for her safety. The food is disgusting and the staff doesn’t care If residents eat. Residents weren’t allowed to have butter knives and the food wasn’t even served in bite sizes, so how are they supposed to cut their food? We saw residents inappropriately groping other residents with staff no where to be found (even though there are cameras). The layout is a bit of a maze and saw multiple residents fall. We had to inform staff because no one was around. We were also guaranteed a refund because of the multiple incidents that occurred, and it’s been almost a year & continue to get the runaround. Please don’t put your relative here!

Do not put a loved one here

This place is terrible. We hoped this place would be wonderful for our mom, but we were horrified with the care. We moved her out after barely two weeks because her safety was at risk. The staff was caught in multiple lies about bruises and falls that occurred. The food was not edible. Staff did not care whether residents ate their food (no butter knives are provided, so residents can’t cut their food.) We witnessed residents inappropriately groping other residents. The layout is a maze and residents get confused. We saw many residents fall and we had to inform staff even though they are supposed to be watching cameras. We were guaranteed a refund due to the horrendous care & it’s been impossible to actually receive it. We continue to get the runaround. Do not put a loved one here! There are much better communities in Tulsa for a better cost.

appalled with management and handling of patients

My husband stayed their and the very first week, they never helped him brush his teeth, never put deodorant on him, he got pneumonia and then put him in the hospital, when he was released from hospital I went to pick up his belongings and 5 tee shirts were missing and 2 pairs of brand new slacks, the. bed was made the exact same way as when I made it the week before ( I dont think he ever slept in his bed) and I talked to nurse, manager, head of nursing home and supervisor over laundry aides and they all told me they would look into the missing clothes issue, its been over a month and not one of these people have returned my calls, and I keep calling them back numerous times with still no calls back and they are checking into it. [removed]......dont bring your loved one to the mingo locaton in tulsa!!!!

The only thing great about this place is the limited staff. Ashley, Donna and Elizabeth. They are the only ones who keep the place going. The new "manager" Julie its totally under qualified. Three people who own it aren't even in healthcare they are in rental property its what the regional director stated. Also there is NOT a nurse on staff at all. I'm happy I removed my loved one from this facility.

Owners could care less about your loved one.

My problem was not with the Tulsa staff but with the Regional and Corporate people. I thought being family owned would be a benefit but it is not, they could care less about your loved one. The food is not good and they do not give the residents enough to eat. In less than 2 years they have had at least 4 executive directors, that should tell you a lot!

Poor Management

As the loved one to a former resident in this communtiy, I can tell you, you need to drive on by and not stop. They are short staffed and when staffed to adequte employee numbers, these employees are from an agency and not familiar with the residents. The Director is unwilling to hear complaints and IF she does hear them they are NOT addressed! I was extremely let down buy most all of the staff with the exception of few CNA's/LPN's. Not worth the cash I paid, and I wouldn't even place a dying animal in that environment!

Disappointed!! Stay away!!

Stay away!!! Save your parent and your money! We had Mom here for a year, giving them chance after chance. They always had an excuse that they were going through changes to make it better. There was always new staff! Mom was always getting her medicine at the wrong time and sometimes not at all! So where did those extra narcotics go? There wasn't any left when we moved her out! They were trying to force us to move Mom into the Willows side of the place which is $1600.00 more per month. The workers that spent time with her daily said she wasn't ready to go into Willows. But they moved her and her bed into Willows without even talking to any of the family members because she thought her sister was coming to see her and she was standing inside the building but by the front door with her suitcase. She complied when they told her to go back to her apartment! We had to get a lawyer to get her moved back into her apartment! This was the LAST straw!!! Don't put your parent through this! Disappointed in a facility that would do this to the elderly!

I get a kick out of the picture they show with woman leaning over the couple in suit and dress. there is not any that dress like that for meals. The meals are not elegant simply a meal you would see in a military kitchen such as grub, they do not watch after the residents but instead have them watch after each other . if you have pains it takes a while to get your pain meds or regulars. if you can be there 24 hrs and watch it would be ok but I would not leave anyone there if I couldn't. they do not take actins when medical needs is needed and house dr. is not a good dr.

My mom received HORRIBLE care at Autumn Leaves!!!

My mom received HORRIBLE care at Autumn Leaves!!!!! They did not bathe her!!!! They let her room get like a pig pen!!! They didn't do her laundry anything like we were told they would!!! She had several accidents in the room & as soon as we noticed this we ask the staff to remove her chair & to shampoo the carpet. 4 days still nothing had been done!!!! The sheets on her bed were the most dirty I have ever seen!!! They put the residents to bed no time after the evening meal & their door is locked so that they can't leave their room. If they need anything too bad for them. The string you pull for help never has worked since my mom was placed there. Every time we came to visit my mom she had dirty clothes on & no underwear!!!! We were promised that they would receive help in getting ready for bed & getting dressed in the morning. On a regular basis we would find my mom in the same clothes for several days!!! Also if you visit after 6:00 pm it is almost impossible to find a staff member to let you out the door!!! We have given a 30 day notice & wouldn't recommend anyone to put their loved one in this place!!!
