Don't feel they're doing all that was promised. Only been a month, so maybe still working out the kinks... They are very gracious in that they are really trying to work with Dads budget

The memory care unit on the first floor was full and the second floor would not have worked for us. The people we met during our tour were nice. The community seemed clean. My sister liked this community.

Very friendly staff and the facility is extremely clean. Concerns arise with care services. Several appointments with the doctor or meetings with a nurse have been canceled with no notice.

This is a very nice facility and I have had an informal tour.

My mother is a resident there. I have very mixed feelings about the place. It has a great location and when I first placed my mother there, the staff was amazing. My mother had been at several facilities and when I met Kyla and Susan I knew that this was the place. Kyla, who managed the administration end, was super compassionate and smart. She did an amazing job. With the head nurse, Susan, things were great. Unfortunately, they both left around the same time and the replacement individuals were not as exceptional. Most places are under staffed and employees are over worked. I find that this is true here as well despite the fact that patients pay so much to live there. The problem is the corporate model that puts the bulk of the funds into the hands of investors and not in the hands of underpaid/overworked employees and in patient care. I would love to see more activities for patients. While I think that the care is comperable to other places, the management, the head nurse, the food, and the activities are sub standard or entirely missing. So - it depends on what you are looking for. If your loved one is not going to handle activities anymore but the central location is good - you will like this facility. Many of the support staff are wonderful, but can only do so much with so many patients. If you want more activities and a head nurse that seems responsive to your concerns, this may not be the place for you. Having said that - many of the nursing staff are compassionate and caring. I rarely discuss anything with the head nurse - instead I work with other staff members who are helpful. Finally, I think it is important to remember that if you have a family member with dementia that requires a locked facility and can not handle the freedom of Bell Trace or Meadowood, Autumn Hills is a good facility and the best in the central location in Bloomington. I do think that the facility is over priced and the food is so awful that my mother hates eating it.

They have dropped my mother a couple of times in the shower. That is bad. She says that they have also not been very responsive to the calls that she has made. She sits in her room quite often, and they come over and tell her what is going on, but they could certainly do more to encourage her to get engaged. I think that they are understaffed. The food is not that good either. The nurses are good and very caring, and the facility is very clean and well kept, but there are certainly many areas where they need to improve.

I lived here for a time, and while it was a nice looking community I didn't find it a very comfortable place to live. I had to live in a shared room, which was certainly not ideal for me. I also had a lot of trouble with their medication service, it never really got to working smoothly before I moved elsewhere.

Good food.

We placed our loved one here, and so far everything seems to be going well, we haven't had any complaints.

This was one of the locations we looked at while looking into senior living for a loved one. It was not one we were particularly impressed with. It was a smaller community, and we didn't see many residents around during the tour. It was also a bit further from family than we were wanting to look.

nice, but more for independent living. For assisted living I would go elsewhere. But the physical building was beautiful. And the rooms were by far the nicest we saw out of several facilities.

This community could work to improve on their overall communication with the families and some more improvement with overall care services that are offered.

The biggest issue that my mother in law is experience is that there is a co-mingling of dementia residents and independent residents, so it is hard to interact and she is feeling isolated. She also has been cooking all of her meals on her own because she does not like the food that is served. It is a clean and bright facility that is very welcoming, it has potential to be top notch, but it has not been the best experience for her. I would tell others just to make sure to be persistent with management to make sure needs are being met.

Not happy with constant personnel changes. Can easily tell there is no harmony between upper management and employees. - poor housekeeping (employees don't have time to adequately clean apts.) - poor food quality - lack of food quantity when resident does like food (i.e. pizza and spaghetti) - prices high for services - no variety in activities for seniors - tense atmosphere - over ears, this is the worst mgmt. they have had - two very nice housekeepers right now. Worry they will leave or be fired. - fear retribution/anger toward resident if anything is said Due to COVID-19, it's not a good time to move family from one facility to another.

My Parent lived at Waterford for over 3 years. The Caretakers are wonderful. I do believe they care about the people. The room is hardly cleaned on a regular basis. The food was not really good. They had good activities and the activity director was Great. The Director there is very unfriendly and will hardly smile nor talk with you.

Mr. [name removed] was helpful and quick to assist with my mother’s cable connection during a move.

Most people seemed friendly but they did not do a good job of cleaning. They had kids doing cleaning and when I complained they sent someone who only swept the floor. We have moved my mom bit someone only cam twice to clean in the 3 months she was there. That was totally unacceptable. Food was acceptable most days.

I originally thought this would be a great place for my mom. She does like her studio apartment and the location is great. The staff did a complete turnover very recently which resulted in a bit delay in receiving services. Our main complaint is the food. We were told the menus were done by a dietician and there were always alternate choices for the specials. So far this is not the case. There are times that the portions are so small the residents are still hungry. One day last week they served a half full bowl of bean soup and one slice of corn bread. A man asked for another bowl of soup and was told they were out. Another time someone asked for a slice of bread and was told they didn't have any. Lunch menu today, mac and cheese and squash, supper tonight grilled cheese and slaw. These people pay good money for assisted living and should receive a balanced meal and enough to fill them up.
