I like this community for my loved one . The only downfall is that they don't take the residents to Dr. appointments. They take the residents out sometimes and have live music come in and they are always encouraging them to come out of the of the apartment and be social with other residents.

Cedarhurst is low on staffing of the Med Techs. The community is back on lockdown due to COVID. They have gone through a Executive Directors and now Corporate is running the community. The biggest issue is the low staffing of the community. The communication could be better with the residents from the staff.

When we first encountered them they were very on top of everything. The only thing that was lacking is once my father was admitted and if I had any questions I was not sure who to address the questions to. I had to keep going to the head of sales to find who I needed to speak with. Other than this any other issues were addressed, I would not hesitate to move in here if it ever came to it.

The community has done a good job taking care of my loved one and the cost is comparable to other communities in our area. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience

The setting is very nice and they have accessible medical staff. They offer lots of great activities available for the residents to participate in. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

The community just recently opened up. They are worth checking out, they are very competitive price wise. It is a nice and beautiful community inside and outside. They have an enclosed patio for the residents to use. It is a cheerful environment. The have modern furniture and paint. You get a good feeling during the tour.

They are extremely friendly and go above and beyond to help. My loved one was in a previous facility, and the comparison is night and day. She's so much happier here. She worries that because her care is so much better, she's going to run out of money. But that's not the case at all. It actually costs considerably less than where she was at before. She's just really happy here. And her happiness is all that counts.

It's been good overall. Nothing to complain about. The food is good. People are friendly. It's been clean overall except a couple of spots on the rug. They keep it painted and in good maintenance order. If you need help with maintenance, they send somebody up to help. They have an activities director that's full of energy and always has something going 5-6 days a week. They go fishing and on field trips to the mall. They have all sorts of games, live music a couple times a month, and a fun variety of activities. Today we're going bowling. Overall I'd recommend it here.

We chose Cedarhurst of Columbia because the first person I spoke to was so helpful and it made me feel more comfortable in placing my mom here. The room sizes here are very large and spacious. The only complaint I have had is that things are not quite as good on weekends, it seems like they may be a little short staffed. But Mondays through Friday things are great. I would recommend to others looking.

Overall I am extremely happy with the community. I like the visitation policy and the staff is very friendly. Communication between the staff and our family is good. They keep us well informed and up to date. I would recommend this community based on my experience.

We are pleased overall how Dad and Mom are taken care of. Everyone has been friendly and helpful as far as they able. We have concerns with the continual change in administration especially and quality and number of staff. Meal time seems to have it’s ups and downs as far as quality and quantity but I can only go by what I hear. Several staff members of past and present have gone out of their way to help my folks in one way or another and for those special people we are thankful!.

We chose Cedarhurst of Yorkville because of the convenient location. They could improve on communication with the families. When I finally was able to go to her room, she did not have sheets on her bed and pillow cases were missing. I found them and they were in the back of the cabinet, I am not sure how long they were off for. I would recommend as long as you can get in there and see what is going on.

They've done a great job with my loved one, and she seems to be doing well. They've been upfront with everything. Nothing is 100% all the time, but the majority of the time, if there's a problem they take care of. Most of the staff seem to care for the residents very much, and they're very good with them.

They didn't' handle Covid well at all, but they seem to be good as far as the people there. They were courteous, kind, friendly and helpful. They, as well as anyone else, were not ready for Covid. I don't think they had any Covid outbreaks at all though. It was just very unfortunate times, and it was difficult to get in during my loved one's last days. I think they did the best they could to try to keep people safe. Of all the communities in the area, I think they were the only ones to not have a Covid outbreak. The facility itself is very nice, as far as the layout of the buildings, with courtyards and paved paths for people with walkers or wheelchairs to be able to get out and about. They have a sufficient size lot for growth, and they seem to be expanding that outdoor space as well.

They do seem to be very caring. They're good at what they do. Our biggest problem was communication - we couldn't get ahold of them. Part of that was due to Covid. They were understaffed with all the extra responsibilities during this time. They did very good at getting our loved one interested in coloring by number, which surprised me. That kept him occupied, and he enjoyed it. Overall I would recommend Cedarhurst, it was very nice.

The community is not very good with medication distribution. They want to have the meds ordered from their pharmacy and it was way more expensive. Communication needed to be better between the staff and family it was not consistent. If you can manage the med for your loved on I would recommend this community to others. The facility is very nice and in a good neighborhood.

I'm very impressed with how sweet the aides are with my mom. They are very good with her. The aides are very kind. The staff are well choosen and trained.

The staff has been good at communicating with the family. My mom is happy here. The food and activities are enjoyed by my loved one. The staff go out of their way to help the residents.

-- This is a review of our experience with the community during covid and covid alone. The activity director is great, and right now they have a good amount of things for the residents to participate in. Our loved one does say the quality of the food has declined, and there is an inconsistency when it comes to the temperature of the food. We do believe our loved one is being well taken care of, but since we are not allowed to go in we are just not completely sure.
