A Nice Looking Community

Everything is going pretty well for my mother at this community. It is a very nice looking community, but they do have their issues just like any other community. They forget to do my mother's physical therapy sometimes. It is a pretty average community. Everyone is nice and kind. There are things they need to improve on. I really like the appearance, but they do need to fix some things before I recommend it.

So far so good. We did have some concerns over some missing items. The communication has been difficult, and that is a concern. It's kept very clean though, and the care and the response of the staff is okay. And we haven't had any complaints about food.

Always understaffed

They are always understaffed and not always bringing my mom to the bathroom or cleaning her up after she ears. Also not making sure she us hydrated. My mom recently ended up in the ER with dehydration. The Director and her superiors are more interested in making money then addressing staffing issues and care issues. Meals are very good. Activities in memory care could be a lot better. They are always short staffed and patients spend too much time sleeping in front of the tv. We are paying a lot and not getting what we were sold in respect to quality of care and activities. The staff is also careless with my mom's things. They have lost 2 sets of hearing aids, broken the draws of her dresser by overstuffing them, and lost a new pair of prescription glasses and the glass case.

Clean & Comfortable

It should be noted: •the Food Service just changed and while I don't know that the food improved, the new worker's attitudes did. •Aids are friendly and nice, nurses not always on the ball. But when the supervisor of nurses got involved, the care improved immensely. •apparently the person who planned the activities left and the number of activities dropped off dramatically •For residents with mobility & speech issues, there are fewer things for them to participate in, so if they could at least have meals that are enjoyable, that would go a long way toward their happiness. I'm sorry to say that isn't the case here. Except for the morning oatmeal--the only good meal she could count on.

Beautiful facility, very clean but beware

Beautiful facility, very clean but beware… they will get you in the door and then increase prices with no warning. This happened to us in less than a year rates increased by 25% “effective immediately”. Staff is fair some good some not so good. Management is a nightmare to deal with Administrator (who started [date removed]) is rude, and does not want to communicate with families or want to hear your concerns. Care One is all about the money and not the resident. They promise you things when you tour facility that are untrue such as a nurse 24 hrs a day, there’s no nurses in the building after 5pm on weekdays, and none on weekends at all. Weekends are a nightmare with skeleton crew.

Very nice facility great front office staff questionable evening coverage, and staff

My father was admitted in June under respite care for 30 days with an overlay of hospice care through first choice. Well, he was there. The administrative staff was responsive that the nursing staff was lacking did not show empathy or concern, and we experience multiple falls, In one case he was on the bathroom floor for over four hours with no one coming. This was investigated and we were told it was a mixup on the schedule for the aids that should never happen especially in a facility word check every hour. We left after two months and went to another care one facility and although it is not as new and modern as [name removed] it does provide nursing care

I was very optimistic...

Hi, my dad has dementia. He is on a memory care unit. I feel disappointed in a few areas. They do not have enough patient care assistants(PCA). They have 2 on day shift, two on evening and one at night. My dad has fallen at least 6 to 8 times in the two months he has been there. The PCAs are spread too thin. It all falls on them..for the price we are paying, we would be better served with more help. The nurses are caring, they always update us to any changes(major++). The PCAs are caring and kind..but there are not enough of them. He also was hospitalized for a UTI. He is incontinent, and we have found him saturated. Again..more staff=more help with our loved ones.

Family Friend

I have a friend living there the upsetting part is she has no help with taking a shower. Rooms are not cleaned well nor is the laundry. I also don’t believe they have enough activities or staff for this. They don’t do room checks either. Nor is there anything for family members to get a beverage etc. I feel like with no other facilities to compete this is what you’re left with. The staff is nice/ food is good from what I seen/ the TV room is dark the entrance is nice as well as the lobby & dining area. 8pm lobby is empty.

Respite Care

We picked this community because, it was the only place that would take my loved one. The communication needs to improve. The facility served a purpose for us. There is lots to say about how they communicated what they could do and what they actually did. In my view, this was a holding cell and my loved one made no progress while there - in part - because of mistakes and miscommunication on their part.

Not the best fit

Everyone here was very nice and they tried their hardest, if we asked for things they were more than willing to help out. They sold us on the fact that they break the residents up by cognitive ability, but that was not her issue it was more behavioral. She was in level 3 and it just did not work for her because there was no one she could talk to or interact with. I think had she been in 2 it would have been a much better fit. Our biggest complaint about Harmony Village was that there was minimal communication. We lived out of town and it was very hard to get answer from anyone and they never would give updates, we always had to ask for them. Once we had to move her stuff out, they never really helped out much.

Nice looking facility, friendly staff.

The renovations are nice. And the staff is really very nice. The facility itself is clean, but not my loved one's room. They do decorate really well for the seasons. I feel like you have to stay on top of things though for them to happen. I love the activities director. She is such a nice woman. But there just doesn't seem to be that many activities going on. And that may be due to Covid. But I feel like there should be music playing all the time or something going on, and it's just quiet.
