Excellent care and very clean! More variety of food options, especially for dinner would be good. Sometimes the options are soup and sandwich which weren't filling enough.

We had a great tour with Sunrise of Bloomfield and we liked what we saw, the location was just too far.

Our tour at Autumn House West was not bad, no complaints. The hallways were maybe a little more convoluted, which made it harder to find your way around. And they just didn't have the ability to provide level of care we thought our loved one would need coming out of a rehab facility.

We moved both my parents into Azpira. With their health declining, I needed to get them in quickly, so I didn't have the time to look around as much as I wanted to. But I took a chance with Azpira. I liked the feel when I walked in. It was clean and bright. But their number one challenge, and I'm sure it's a national challenge, is understaffing. The first night my parents were there, my father had a medical emergency in the middle of the night, and my mother went to look for staff and couldn't find anybody. So I had to go over there in the middle of the night and found the two staff members asleep. My mother was traumatized by that circumstance, and I was very unhappy as well. But, after that terrible first night, the people who run the place went out of their way to take care of my parents for the remainder of their stay there. The director was really honest and fair with me about the realities of trying to keep this place open with the staffing limitations she's been dealing with. And I appreciated the honesty. One of the things I think people want from assisted living is just an honest assessment of competence of staff, number of people on staff, things like that, despite what the shiny brochures say. And a lot of these facilities are just chronically understaffed, which is a shame for the families. After that night, which was about as bad as things can get, I don't think they tried to treat my mother any differently than anyone else in their care, but they were really aware that that's not how you want things like this to start, and that's not what they want for their residents or families. I was very pleased with the level of honesty I got from the director and the people who had to make the decisions for my parents. Another challenge with understaffing was keeping the dining room open. They were doing delivery to the residents individually, which affects the quality of the food. And nobody can fix that. My mother would complain it was bland and cold, but that's because it's being served in a big facility on trays and crates with a limited number of staff. They finally were able to open up the dining hall, which they had been trying to do for a while. Another challenge was with the night nursing staff. They just can't find people to work overnight who are qualified nurses at competitive wages.

This has been a better community than others that my friend has been in. They put effort into the care of the memory care residents. The staff communicate well with the families of the residents. The community is making every effort they can to assist the residents.

The friendliness of the staff members are excellent, and the meals and dining service go way above 12 star, they are out of the world good. Also the activities are off the chart they are fantastic. There is always something going on for our loved one to participate in.

A lot has been difficult due to Covid. I would think it would be a very pleasant, positive experience with Covid restrictions being opened up. I just don't know how long that process will take. They only just last week opened up to any visitors. They have you put on protective garb and limit visits to 30 minutes. That protocol can be intimidating when you come to visit. From what I've seen after my recent visit, I was very impressed. All the areas I saw were very clean, from the front door to my loved one's room. The building itself was nice. They have been pretty tight with Covid restrictions. Because they were sticking to the rules and regulations, they didn't have cases where people got sick. So those rules kept them safe, but they also kept the residents isolated. Friendship and fellowship I know is part of what's missing, but that would be the case anywhere you go. I've had limited interactions with the staff, but the phone conversations I've had with them have been fine. Because of Covid, I would say the care has suffered a little. They come and go and do what needs to be done, but they don't linger, which would be helpful sometimes. The staff have been very friendly and helpful, but I believe they are short staffed due to Covid. Initially our family was very pleased with the food, but there's been a change in their nutritionist. Our loved one has some difficulty chewing, and they've been working very hard to help find her food that she can chew and eat. Meals are still being delivered to the residents' rooms at this time. They have had some limited activities going on. We've had a PT and OT come in with outside services, and that has seemed to work well and benefit her well. We found that very helpful to supplement the care she's receiving at Azpira Place. She had a unique experience entering the community being in a wheelchair for the first time, which is a huge adjustment. And I think there were many people there who all came together and did their part to help meet her needs and help with that transition.

I thought the community was short of staff during our loved one's stay. The food was fabulous and in the beginning it was being served in the dining room. The residents could order for menus. The chef was always being bragged about to the families.

We chose Oak Leaf Manor because when I got there it was the only place that smelled nice and refreshing. Other places I walked into had a bad stench of urine. They are a very clean facility. The room sizes I feel as though are very good. He was in the dementia unit and he did not have to share a room with anybody which is something I liked about this facility. They were always on top of it when I called, especially during COVID when I was not able to go see him. I cannot say enough good thing about the facility, the staff members were very caring with their residents. I will say that some of the younger staff members might need some more education on how to handle residents. My overall experience here was very good.

We chose this community because of the cost. The food is great, they have a lot of variety. The room sizes are livable, they could have been bigger, but my mom does have a queen size bed. I would certainly recommend this community.

I thought they did a good job with taking care of my mother and keeping up with her hygiene. The staff were also good with talking with my mother. The care they provided was good. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, they offered a lot of different activities that the families were also able to participate in.
