Has room for improvement

The staff is very new and inexperienced. The GM doesn't know what is going on with her staff. The food is very bland and repetitive. When we moved in to the room there was urine stains and really bad smell

This is bc they have never gotten her TV on for her.. They never found her blanket and it has dogs all over it one of a kind...The first week in facility all of her brand new packages of underwear came up missing as well as all of her 10 new bras...I've replaced bras and underwear twice within 6 months...Currently her clothes are missing about 75% of them and I don't get regular calls about issues until it's dyer... Location is great and daily exercise needs to be incorporated...

Overall the place is ok. They are always out of something especially food items - yogurt, coffee, oatmeal, orange juice, and placemats, napkins, toilet paper, paper towels and soap in public restrooms. The new owners did not take care of transferring title to the bus so we were without promised transportation for over a month. Communication to residents is spotty at best. A bunch of cranky seniors who are confused already do not do well when anything is not as expected.

Verdict is still out

Friendly and helpful staff who are consistently kind, attentive, and willing to assist with any needs that come up. The food is great, with a nice variety and meals that are well-prepared and enjoyable. Special activities are thoughtfully planned and add a lot to the experience—for example, last week’s Mother’s Day brunch was extremely well done and made the day feel really special. One area where improvement would be appreciated is in getting laundry done weekly as advertised.

Need more staff

They are always short staffed. They don't have enough people taking care of the memory care patients. Also, the turnover is high. The care is average. Staff don't speak English and really aren't experts at memory care

Since new management took over in Sept, it has been very rocky going. Wifi here is unreliable at best. The activity directors are friendly and enthusiastic. Always trying to find ways to get people involved. There has been a high turnover in the kitchen staff. It seems there is no leadership and no organization. They are often out of what I consider staples, salad dressings, bread, fruit, coffee, creamers, and they have run out of entrees before everyone is served. The food is undercooked or overcooked, and sometimes tasty. It has been a big disappointment, but I'm trying to deal with the situation.

Truewood by Merrill, Clovis

Honestly all I know is what my mother told me as I live in Boston. She said it was pleasant she had a nice room. She said food was good she was there for 3 months and was able to go home. Thank you for following up. My Mom would say 3 on staff attitude But it varies per individual. 5 for the room as per what I've been told by family I live in Boston so have no first hand knowledge. Food was generous helpings. Food was tiresome after a while. Sometimes good other times basic. Sounds unimaginative. However we are grateful that she had a nice safe place during an interim time in her journey

Review for The Farmstead at Dixon

Facility is nice and brand new and others always comment on it when they come through here. For the most part the staff is nice they have some good caregivers and some bad caregivers. The training leads a lot to be desired for them. The present executive director seems to be rather approachable. I've gone to him with a lot of concerns and he does his best I think to take care of them.

It was intrusive for him. It might not have been for others

I'll rate everything at a 3. It was my brother that lived at Truewood. He was only 69 years old and felt like he was in prison. He actually improved while he was there probably because he wanted to get out. but the care he received was intrusive. It was intrusive for him. It might not have been for others.

Review for Lake Park Senior Living

I wish I could rate this higher as Lake Park used to be a fuller service facility and is now just feels like a Room & Board facility. I get that it needed some updating under the new mgmt, but it feels rather cheap. We picked it because it was affordable and could improve the social interaction over the isolation of living alone.

Average facility did not work for us.

I would tell others to make more than 1 visit, come during a meal time. Called late evening and no one to answer phone. Some staff said short handed, management said they were fully staffed. Just something a little off putting to us. Couldn't put our finger on it. Don't think it is bad just didn't work for us.

Our experience

My loved one has been here for quite a while now. At the time when we were looking I loved the director and the atmosphere. The assisted living area of the community is very nice and clean. The staff were also super caring. My loved one is now in the memory care unit and I just had the opportunity to go visit there and it was night and day. It was not very clean at all and the room is not nearly as nice. The turnover rate since my loved one has been here has been incredibly high. I talked to the director about my concerns and when I went back they had made a lot of improvements.

Needs better communication

We had several communication issues during our loved ones stay here. We live out of state and that was something that was very important to us. In general my impression was that they were understaffed so their service level really dropped off once we moved in.

Our experience with Pacifica Senior Living

It is memory care so the residents get confused about where their rooms and bathrooms are so they go into others rooms and use the bathroom. My mom has a lot in her room that doesn't belong to her and she has lost some personal items and they cannot find them. It seems they are not organized. I would possibly recommend to others looking.
