Although the staff was very friendly and engaging with the residents. The place felt dingy and unkept. The rooms were dark and uninviting. I just couldn't imagine leaving my mom here.

My brother and I toured Atria on April 3. We would not select it for a few reasons. One it is outside my dad's palliative care team's area (I just learned this). Two, once someone is unable to move themselves, they need to leave the facility. Finally, they are offering a 20% discount through next Jan. but they are going to be remodeling.

Place looks OK from outside, a pretty spot by the water, but inside is another story. Meals are in a nice-looking dining room but the waiters are really, really slow. You'll hear most of the people eating here talking about how bad the food is, but they have no other choice of where to eat. The food looks unappetizing and isn't hot when it should be.

Poor transition from Truewood

This is a continuation of my review. My mom is moving because it is awful. While we were talking about the move, a ' nurse' came by and said the director wanted to talk to me. I said I didn't need to talk to him. He appeared with his financial person. The 3 of them blocked my exit. They tried to intimidate us into staying. Told lies about the new place. My mom is 101 and I'm 74. I felt I couldn't leave at that moment. Don't bring anyone there. Many are leaving.

Biggest Regret

I did recommend [community removed] and since Saddle Ridge (Calson Management) has taken over, I deeply regret recommending the facility. The new management has significantly lowered the quality of care. This facility previously provided wonderful care, but since the new management took over, things have gone downhill. Unfortunately, the facility has deteriorated under new management - staffing, communication, and resident care have all suffered.

It was an awful experience. They treat their memory care patients poorly. My grandfather was injured and left unattended. They didn't allow him in his room during the day so he was forced to sleep in an uncomfortable chair during the day. They weren't bathed or cleaned often. The list goes on.

Pacifica Senior Living Union City review

My experience is limited to the memory care unit only. My Mom was unique in that she was mobile and had not yet lost her ability to reason... she could not live on the assisted living side as it was not secure. The room size was okay ... I moved her from her home so the room was completely tricked out with her own things ... that was as not the case for many of the other residents. Basically the staff was not equipped to deal with the situation but they also didn't want a vacancy and overall it was a decent place for her to be. What I will say is that the best part was she did not have to share a room. The place was average ... the staff was average ... the cost was average.

Appreciate the Staff

My mother has been at cornerstone for sometime & has gotten to know each of the caregivers on a deeper level. These caregivers are UNDERPAID for all the work they put into this company which would explain the mediocre care they provide to their residents. I hope they one day get the pay they deserve it explains why they can never keep staff.

Pacifica Senior Living review

It looks clean on the surface and to me the staff were all smiles, but they didn't treat my mom well at all. Pacifica Senior Living was the worst. When I picked up my mom for there, she smelled of urine, very soiled diaper, and her clothes were dirty. I cleaned her up and took her straight to the emergency room. She was suffering from dehydration and had a UTI.

stay away, look elsewhere, never recommend

Since the trinity didn't test [name removed] when he had symptoms of covid he wasn't given any medication to treat it. They eventually did test him but not till 2 weeks later. By then the results were negative. So with getting no care/ medication for covid [name removed] passed away. Prior to leaving the Trinity I took [name removed] to the doctor they did blood work and his sodium levels were so low because of the covid that they had to give him sodium pills. He also had pneumonia at that time. He continued to have respiratory issues. But because of the lack of treatment at the time he had covid he was not able to recover fully and passed away. This place needs to lose their license. On one of my visits his roommate was in the TV room crawling around on the floor with just a diaper on. The staff was standing 20 ft away doing nothing about it. I was there for about 45 minutes and they never did attempt to put clothes on him. Like I already said this place needs to be shut down. It's absolutely terrible their lack of care. According to [name removed] one of the male caregivers was handling him roughly and [name removed] threatened to knock his block off. [name removed] then said the man told him if he did he would hit him back. This is no way to treat seniors with dementia. Well that's about it.

Downhill since purchase by Pacifica

My mother-in-law enjoyed Lake Park for many years until the recent purchase of it by Pacifica. After the purchase, the internal communication and quality of services declined rapidly, including decreased security (random people entering the building and apartments), and regularly running out of food, which is so awful! My MIL decided to leave, as have other long-term residents. Now, Pacifica refuses to return these residents' deposits in a flagrant breach of contract and won't respond to any inquiries. Out of necessity, we now have to explore legal avenues to get back the money my 85-year old MIL is owed and needs for living expenses. It's unclear what the new owners do care about, but it's obviously not the seniors they are supposed to be serving. It is a tragic and deplorable situation.

NOT a good place for Alzheimers/Dementia

I had my dad here as it was affordable and they had a Dementia wing, so I figured that as he progressed he could move from his apartment to that wing. He escaped TWICE- just walked out the front door and got lost. At one point, I got a call EVERY NIGHT around 1a from the Sheriff because they wanted to say that my dad was assaulting other residents. He was non-verbal, so he couldn't say excuse me and would instead move someone from his path. You'd think people experienced would know this. They also stole a bunch of his furniture and stuff. Finally, I decided to bite the bullet and move him to Silverado and just pay the higher amount. No outdoors time, no patience for Dementia, and really? Calling the cops on someone you're supposed to be caring for is ridiculous. I should've called the cops! DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE HERE!!!!! You get what you pay for, and they will not take good care of them. I still remember leaving every day in tears, having to leave him there when he lived there.

Horrific

My sister was a resident for 4 years , iIt was a terrible experience for her and our family. The change over in staff, was constant. Waiting for assistance took hours at times. But the worst was the stealing. It was constant, new sheets , cloths, electronics, etc. The staff are not trained to care for residents, and the behavior I saw and heard from my sister was inappropriate. I have read some of the other reviews and cant believe they are true. Please don’t place your loved ones there it will be an unpleasant experience for you all.

Horrible experience

They don't tell you the truth when you sign up about the care. They are very understaffed. we chose this one originally because of the location and they promised a lot of care that they didn't provide. My mom passed away there. The caregivers are good people, but they can't possibly provide enough care to the number of residents they have. I would absolutely not recommend this community.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND

I WOULD NOT send anyone here. I have had a horrible experience with this community. When we first toured the area we thought that the place was lovely. We were happy with everything that we saw. The people that took care of us getting my loved one in were all wonderful. The place itself was beautiful, they have a lovely dining area for the residents, the rooms were nice, but what good is all that. The room that my loved one was in was beautiful and you would have to furnish it yourself which is alright. However, they would just let him lay there. They would also over medicate him and he was drooling. The social worker was there too, which was a blessing. When we tried to assist him to the bathroom his legs were like rubber. He had to use a walker to get himself there. He had also lost a tremendous amount of weight. He could not feed himself. So I asked a care taker there “if he doesn’t eat do you feed him?” to which she responded “Oh we don’t feed anyone on this floor”. What kind of answer is that?! He lost so much weight and he looked horrible. What really set it off for me what receiving a call one morning and the lady told me “In order for us to keep bob, you’ll have to hire a care giver for at least 12 hours a day ($24 an hour)”. I said to her “Well what am I paying your for?! What are you guys doing?” I was so worried for my loved one that I ended up hiring a caretaker to make sure he was getting water and being fed regularly until my daughter, the social worker, and I found a different place to get the appropriate help that my loved one needs. He is now out of here and doing much better. It’s funny the first day that he moved out he was able to feed himself. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. I would not want something like this to happen to anyone else.
