My mother is very happy there. She says all the people are very nice. The size of the room is sufficient. The place is well kept and clean. I have no complaints. I would give it a five out of five.

Brand new facility with all the bells and whistles.... Beautiful interior, many rooms have courtyard views that add to the homelike atmosphere. This will definitely be a "GREAT" place for Mom when they open.

Our experience and observations.

I can only speak to my experience and observations for a five week period. The kitchen prepared really decent meals. I believe they were understaffed for caregivers in the memory care wing. Only one caregiver during the day for the entire wing. The room was sparsely furnished. A bed, one chair and a chest of drawers. It was clean though. The housekeeper was very, very thorough.

Feels like family

I feel the care team does a great job monitoring the patients and their medication. Dr [name removed] Who comes every Thursday is great with my mother-in-law. When we've reached out for questions or help his staff gets back with us right away. I also feel the staff as a whole has a good vibe and they make it feel like family there.

Mom feels welcome there!

Dinner menu needs more options. If the meal of the day is something my mother can't or doesn't like to eat she has no other options. Activities at times are beyond capabilities of a large number of residents. Pricing is on the high side. The positive side would be the staff, on can be confident mom is being cared for and treated respectfully which is most important. In moms own words "I like it here everybody here are so nice"

Review for Hampton Manor of Woodhaven

Great activities, bingo, dominos, friendly staff clean and bright hallways. They all decorate their rooms for the holidays, which is very nice. Their doors for each end of all individual apartment. But overall, we would highly recommend the place.

Observations and Opinions

Hampton Manor of Brighton, everyone I encountered was very friendly and seemed eager to help. Everything was clean. The staffing level in the memory unit, in my opinion, was inadequate. Having been a full time caregiver for my wife, I know how much work it is. Even though they met standards for caregivers per resident, from the perspective of residents there was not the personal attention the residents require for living the best possible. Many of the caregivers in the memory unit did not speak English as a first language. This should not be taken as meaning to diminish their ability or desire to provide care. All were concerned for the welfare of the residents. And provided good care. The issue I observed was that it is not ideal when working with people who have cognitive disabilities and difficulty understanding instructions or requests. The juice dispenser was empty of some drinks for a few days and completely empty for a few more days. The last week and a half my wife was there, many people were having interviews with the manager. That reinforced the sense that management knew staffing was an issue.

Review for Hampton Manor of Punta Gorda

It was a good experience for my Dad. Staff was great. I don't know about activities. The hurricane evacuation was mishandled. Caused a lot of stress for the customers. My Dad had to be taken off the bus and put into an ambulance.

Overall it is a very nice clean facility. Staff is nice. Food options should be better enforced, especially if loved ones have restrictions. Overall we are pleased with the facility just a few things that we still have to work out due to dietary needs.. The facility visiting hours is only open until 7 PM daily. They should be open until at least 8 PM even if it's a few times a week to accommodate. We work & lots of times can't make it there.

Friendly staff lovely fscility

Love just about everyone we encounter at this facility . Small enough they know the family and work with us very well I recommend you have physicians or nurse practitioner lined up so you don’t have to agree to a corporate physician group . It’s just our preference based on previous experience. We are happy with this facility after a month . Time will tell but we are hopeful .

Our experience

I was only there 4 times. I live in Georgia. My mom was only there for about 2 months. She passed away. So, I'm probably not the best person to review. But, it is a brand new facility. So, yes, everything looked brand new. The food looked delicious, and my mom would clear her plate. When I was there everyone was very kind and helpful. Her room was very nice. There is plenty of space. This being said, when she entered the facility, she was a level one, which is not much help is required according to their evaluation. So I don't know how well the caregivers are with an individual who needs lots of assistance. Also, the place was only about half filled at the time. Lastly, she declined very quickly, so hospice had to be brought in, so at that time, hospice nurses took over. No need for their caregivers.

What you want for a family member

Pretty facility. Mom can get outside in courtyards. Staff watch everything from how well entertainers are received, to how much the resident eats. Watched resident be seated and noticed she had water, no ice. Aide fixed it without asking. Yes, I would recommend this community to other families. Every employer has a chance of hiring someone lazy, ill-tempered, etc. This team goes above and beyond. Talk to residents directly, knows their preferences, so nice

Would recommend with additional observation by family member(s).

At the beginning, everything we very, very good. By the time my mother passed, [date removed], they had trouble keeping staff, and there were 3 changes of management. I would have to reevaluate before commending on what the facility has become. At the time of entrance, it was excellent for the money paid.

Specializing in Dementia care...

The facility itself is about twenty years old, but well maintained and attractive. The staff is friendly and focused on the care of the residents. There has been some notable turnover as of lately. * Brookdale did offer me a military discount, as well as a retention discount that makes them very competitive as far as value for the money. I would rate them highly for the service they provide for dementia residents.

.Dads Florida life, very recommend

Would be a 5 overall but for the food. Really dad's biggest complaint was the food. The nurse [name removed] was nasty but they replaced her and she was great! I think her name is [name removed] . It really is a great clean place. The food should be better and that is a common theme at these places. I just think it immoral not to provide elderly with good food
