Brookstone Terrace

I had a wonderful tour with [name removed] the community was beautiful and everybody was very welcoming. I definitely will be bring my father here. one thing that really sold me to this community is the chickens because my dad loves chickens.

My father was really only at Brookstone for about a week; however, I am happy to share our experiences with staff/facility. We searched high and low (over 5 States I might add) for a place to care for my father who had Alzheimer’s. It seemed that no Assisted Living Facility really wanted to deal with a patient whose disease had progressed to where he was. We tried as a family to take care of him at home; however, it came to the point where my Mom could no longer manage by herself and it was starting to affect her health. We needed a place that was both caring but affordable. My parents are not wealthy and while they had some savings they could not afford the prices for facilities in their area. We reached out to a Place for Mom for help as we could not navigate the process alone. It was probably the best decision that we made. [name removed] was fantastic! She worked tirelessly and within our budget to help secure a facility that would meet our needs. When she found Brookstone Stone Terrace in Woodruff, it was 4 hours from the closest family; however, we decided to be open minded and at least go for a visit. From the moment that we entered the facility, we were restored with hope that we had found a place that would take care of my father. The facility is in a small town and the people were all super friendly. The residents seemed happy and had a great rapport with staff – you could feel the care and love for each other. They worked within our budget and made the transition very easy for us. When my father was later admitted to the hospital before his death, the staff reached out to us daily to check on him and us and when he passed away, they were more than helpful. I believe that I speak for my whole family when I say that we would recommend them to other families without reservation.

The Oaks at Chanticleer is a wonderful place to live and work. The residents are a joy to be around and a lot of the staff have worked here for many many years. I love the faux main street with all of the little stores and shops that the residents can walk in and out of all day. My favorite part is the barnyard with the chickens!! The residents love taking care of them. This memory care is partnered with Prisma's Center for Success in Aging which is a wonderful doctors office that only sees patients with dementia and memory loss. Its nice that they come straight into this memory care community and see the residents.

We had a great experience, and the staff went above and beyond in her care. Always very clean. Staff very friendly and caring. We felt she received excellent care, especially the last 2 weeks. She received excellent care, we were very happy.

I've been very pleased. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about them. They're very family oriented. The facility is very clean. The meals are home cooked. The people are friendly, and they seem to take good care of my loved one. She's always clean, has on clean clothes, and has her hair fixed. I have no complaints. I visited several places before making a decision, and Brookstone Terrace was by far the cleanest. The residents are friendly. They're always doing activities. Recently they had a family day with a cookout and music. And they have activities going on every day.

From the second you walk in the doors of Brookdstone Terrace you feel like family. All of the residents are happy and friendly, the staff are wonderful, and it is extremely clean. The overall atmosphere is very comfortable and the setup is perfect. The staff are so helpful if you have any questions at all they answer them for you. If you want them to call you about your loved one, they will call you and give a daily report if you want. It has been a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend Brookstone. I am sorry that we did not find this place years ago.

We like the smaller scale of the community, it allows for there to be more one on one attention for the residents. We like that either the director of activities or head of the nursing department will text us and keep us updated with our loved one. They will tell us things she has been doing throughout the week, give us updated on health and if she is running low on items.

We've had a great experience with Brookstone Terrace of Simpsonville. Our loved ones have a wonderful relationship with the staff and have started to make friends with the other residents. Both of them are looking so much better. They're eating regularly and taking their medications regularly. Brookstone also does therapy with them. And the staff keep us informed on how our loved ones are doing, which we appreciate.

I visited so many different facilities and when I got to Carriage House, the peace of mind just hit me. The staff has just been phenomenal. It feels more like a retirement community. I knew she would still feel like she had her independence. The response time from staff and the communication has been great. My mom is very happy. She has made friends, she loves the staff, the food, really everything about it. They do a great job with her care and they have tons of activities provided for all of the residents. I know that she is safe here and I would absolutely recommend them to others.

We had a great tour with Oaks at Chanticleer and really liked the facility, but we felt our loved one was not in need of this type of care quite yet.

I'm very pleased with them. It was the best decision we made for my grandmother. We have no regrets. I know that my grandmother was very pleased as well. The level of care and compassion that is given there is immeasurable. I can't say enough good things about the staff. They are phenomenal. They were loving and comforting when my grandmother passed away. The food is amazing, and they fed us when we were there often towards the end. The activities leave a little to be desired, but when you factor in the limitations due to Covid, it's completely understandable.

It's a great place. I have no complaints whatsoever. The care is excellent. The food is delicious. And they have plenty of activities and things for the residents to do.

Our experience with Brookstone Terrace was the best, they answered every prayer that we had. We have nothing but wonderful things to say about this community, there is no doubt in our mind we picked the right place for our loved one. Even when my husband passed, they were just absolutely wonderful. Not only did they show him love and care, but every time I came to visit or my family, they showed us that same love and care.

I moved Mother a few months back due to lack of sufficient care where she was. Her present residence has been wonderful and her care has improved considerably.

Out of all of the tours that we took, Oaks at Chanticleer was the one that "wowed" us the most. They have it set up so cute, it is like a little town and they have houses sectioned off by levels of care. The only reason we did not choose this facility was because they did not have bathrooms/showers in each room and I knew my mom would not like that.

I would tell others this is the idle place for your loved one. The care they give my loved one is superb. My loved one enjoys the food, and when I've eaten there it has been really good. Some of the activities available are dodge ball using balloons, yoga, and more for the residents to choose from.

I think from the beginning, the staff was extremely helpful. We've not had any experience beforehand with senior living, and they were very welcoming and informative and gave us a good understanding of what they offered. So we were very comfortable bringing our mom there. I imagine because she came in in the midst of the pandemic that things are different than they were beforehand. They arranged for us to have outdoor visits and first, and then indoor visits. They've always worked with our changing schedules to accommodate different family members visiting. Overall they're very accommodating, and my mom seems to be comfortable there. She seems much more at peace and much more comfortable. The staff and the aides seem to be very familiar with her. They know her name when we first come in, and they can answer questions about her daily routine. They seem to know her and have a feel for what she needs.

We could not go so we did a zoom with [name removed] and she was fantastic showing us the whole place and took time to answer all of our questions. She made a followup call the next day. Very professional and hoping to place our mom here in a few weeks.

The community goes out of their way to make sure that the resident is calm, and they can recognize when a resident is struggling. The communication is good, but I could sometimes use more info. They are quick to return our calls. I would recommend this community to others.

Overall we are very happy with the people at this community, all of our request from them for personal use had been great, they are very accommodating. The value for this community is good. We are very pleased with how they have handled COVID, they have had no confirmed cases. Our first impression of Carriage House was how nice and clean this community was kept, and the willingness of the staff to show us around was great. We also appreciated their willingness to answer all of our questions, sometimes it wasn't always the correct answer but they still answered out questions. The rooms are this community are more than adequate.
