The facility focus and experience in demen. care, location proximity to family members, smaller size and manageable layout of facility living area seemed appropriate. At times there were some staff changes that temporarily left understaffed to those positions, but later resolved. that may be goes with territory.

I'd like to brag on one of the employees at Brookdale Union Square, [name removed]. From our first phone call, [name removed] has been such a blessing. She always finds a way to help answer any of our questions. If my Mother in law's phone goes out, she's right there, and tv as well. Brookdale is absolutely wonderful, and it starts with [name removed]. She's a great asset to the company. Everyone there is great, but to us, [name removed] stands out the most. We felt like a friend the minute we met her.

The people were so friendly and so helpful. We had a family emergency and had to act fast to help us move in. They helped arrange things, including communicating with doctors for us for medicines. Always very professional but kind at the same time. Minor issue but important was that door security was always done properly. Felt secure that my love one was there.

The staff are very friendly and always helpful. The grounds are kept up immaculately. Plenty of activities for as much or as little as you would like.

We are so pleased with Brookdale. The staff and everyone there have gone above and beyond what we expected. My sister is thriving I never thought she would leave her room and they have been able to get her involved in the activities. Blake is wonderful with the residents. [name removed] and [name removed] have been so attentive to her needs. The facility is clean and beautiful. A wonderful community!

The friendliness of the staff is a definite 5 plus. I am in independent care, not needing nursing care or any help, so this doesn't apply. The staff are very helpful, very friendly, very supportive. The meals and dining could be a little better but keep in mind they are cooking for close to 100 people , three times a day and I am sure there is not an unlimited budget. Many, many activities and movies in the facility and many day trips by bus also social hours and celebrations for birthdays and national holidays with appropriate decorations and special snack treats. Compared to other similar places none of these are inexpensive but I think you are getting your money's worth here at Brookdale Spruce Wood

[name removed] passed away 4 hours after admittance. However, my daughter and I have deep gratitude for the care provided by staff prior to admittance and the time prior to her passing. For instance, I had to leave to take care of legal concerns. The director came and sat with her until my daughter & hospice nurse could arrive.

I would say 5 for all but the food which was just ok. Maybe a 3 for food. But they were so accommodating for our mom. Whatever she wanted they would bring her like ice cream etc. They were all very friendly and helpful in every way.

It is a Homey atmosphere. They have a Caring staff and dedicated activity director and nursing supervisor.

Brookdale Mt Vernon has been wonderful. The workers have been so kind and helpful.

The staff was so friendly, caring and helpful that we felt at home at Brookdale South Charlotte.

Everyone has been very helpful and welcoming. My mom is very happy here. I feel like I made a good decision.

My Dad was in the memory care part of the facility. Meds seemed to be changed often which made it difficult on him. This was due to his Dr. not Brookdale. This was my only real complaint. He passed away after a 3 month stay. I am Very thankful to the administration, nurses and associates that worked with my Dad. They took the time to learn his norms and treated him with respect.

The registration process was easy, and not pushy. The facility is clean looking. The baseboards and windowsills are relatively dust free, as well as the common areas. I like that the trash is removed from resident's room twice daily. However, I do hope that the residents room housekeeping included dusting of the residents furniture, windowsill, and baseboards in their rooms. Every staff member has been kind, supportive, and attentive to my family member living there, as well as attentive and responsive to me. I'm pleased with the quality of care that my relative is receiving. We pay additional fees for her medical care. My relative thinks the food is tasty. However, recently eggs have sometimes not been available, she love egg white omelets. *I would like to see a rotation of the optional meals offered. I'd like to see healthier snacks offered in the snack bar ( less sugar and salt).

What we like the most about Brookdale Oceanside is everyone there, staff and administration, is very friendly and attentive to Mom's needs. Yes, we would recommend the community to other families especially for patients with dementia.

The number one thing that my mom mentions is that they have very good food. She is very impressed with their dining facility food. They have provided excellent transportation to medical appointments. They are very responsive about maintenance issues and quick. The staff is very friendly. The grounds are maintained very well. The overall atmosphere is very homelike.

They will do or say anything to get you in the door.

Staff has a very positive attitude and get to know you. They are very friendly and helpful.

Staff members are friendly and helpful. Close to my house, friendly staff and ability to register for payment help when money runs out.

My grandmother [name removed] spent her final years here. Through it all she received excellent care and friendly treatment by the staff. She participated in the therapy services, and took part in activities that were offered. I am so very thankful for the attention she received right up to the end.
