Brookdale

Staff is friendly and helpful. Residents are happy. My mom’s apartment is lovely. Although my mom doesn’t partake in the group activities, the calendar is great and they have a nice variety of events for the residents. My mom has been there for 2 months now and likes it. We have no complaints so far.

I would rate all categories a 5. They do change staff frequently. What stood out the most - Good: events, food, cleanliness. Bad: changing staff for familiarity and loss of clothes ( always needing underwear).

Great for everything, except administrative staff - I have two late bills from a problem with the website and can't get them taking care of. Things I like about the community - the staff is nice, and my mom says the food is good and they take good care of her.

My grandfather was there and the staff was very friendly and the care he received was excellent. They always kept us informed and they always invited us to events and the events and specials that they have are really great and my grandfather really loved all the events and activities. It is a wonderful place to live.

All 5's with the exception of food which is a 4. To be fair, my mom's super picky about food. Staff was extremely helpful with our transition, they made the process easy during a very trying time.

This facility is more costly than some of the others I looked at, however, there are a lot of perks to it. The facility is larger than others, but there are fewer residents, so there is lots of room for residents to get around in their wheelchairs or walkers, and not be crowded. The food, for the most part is prepared fresh, which is better than some places that order it pre-made. The administrators are quick to reply to your questions or requests, and will work with you on anything that you need. The memory care manager is present on the unit most of the time, rather than being in an office, so residents and families get lots of personal attention. The only thing I don't like is that they do not have back up generators. This area is known for strong thunderstorms and tornado activity in the spring and summer. We had a very bad storm last night, and there was a strong possibility of many areas losing power. For me, communication is key, and Brookdale Willows has done very well meeting my expectations.

Staff has been great! Not only have the staff been working there for years, the overall turnover has been extremely low. Meaning staff taken care of and they love their job. Facility is large and maintained. Things identify as concerns are corrected quickly to protect the residents. Food and options are good. The staff knows the residents and knows what their needs are. IE. If they need more protein or how they like their coffee. The nursing and patient care staff are supportive and on top of things. Great help and excellent reporting

I found this place because of [name removed] with A Place For Mom and she knew what she was doing recommending them. As soon as I walked in the doors, I knew this was a good place- it felt like home. The community is so bright and CLEAN. The staff really attend to the residents who were all clean and happy.

Honestly I would give Brookdale 5's in every category. Staff is great and very attentive, its always clean and bright, staff is always open to a nice conversation about my Dad and compared to the previous Assisted Living Facility my dad was in Brookdale is 20% less per month than I was paying... and I wasn't happy about the care my dad was getting at the previous ALF. I think other families should know that Brookdale, unlike many other ALF's actually encourages interaction between residents and interaction between residents and staff...keeping the residents active and engaged which helps with their overall mental health while living in a ALF.

The staff at Brookdale are extremely friendly and helpful. [name removed] in the front office was not pushy and super helpful when we needed to find a memory care for my mother. I also really like that they only do memory care. The prices are affordable and the care they provide has been top notch thus far. They've gone out of their way to help my mother transition there and feel welcome and at home.

Well, in my interactions with admin staff, I found them to be helpful and accommodating.

The nursing staff were very friendly and helpful for the most part. Some of the restrictions on OTC supplements and regular stuff like cough drops were a bit much. But I believe that was a NY regulation not the facility. Those were very nice! Dining rooms were fabulous! The food and menus, outstanding!! Mother is a very picky eater and they accommodated her.

What we like the most about Brookdale Waterview Court is how pleasant the staff members are. My sister likes the food. The facility stays clean. Yes, we would recommend the community to other families based on the experience so far.

Our mom lives at this community, and I am impressed with the compassion and dedication of the staff. You can tell they have great leadership in place and genuinely care about the residents. Their teamwork and warmth we appreciate.

Transportation to and from medical appointments are available only on scheduled days.

The staff knows residents name but also recognizes family members and calls them by name. They seek out my mother to try and get her to engage in activities. They also communicate with me regularly.

The staff is great. The facility is nice. They have had crawfish boils which my mom really enjoyed. They take them to some restaurants. They do Bingo on certain days. The food they serve could be a little better. My brother and I are always taking her food.
