Staff is great. There could be more activities especially for those in early stages of dementia. Food is ok. My husband eats everything that is offered. [name removed] head of memory wing is excellent. I like the small place. I feel my husband is safe not like [community removed]. No place is perfect but I would definitely recommend Brookdale for memory care.

Staff was very friendly, felt like they really cared for residents. My sister was the one staying at Brookdale. Her first two weeks was a little hard for her to adjust to, but Levi was thoughtful enough to deliver her meals that first week until she could get used to the routine. I would highly recommend Brookdale East.

Brookdale Oak Park is proving to be beyond my expectations. The residents are friendly, educated, stimulating and fun. The staff, from top down, is competent and caring, and goes beyond in serving everyone. The tasteful elegance of the whole building, including its apartments and grounds, don’t feel too fancy or snooty, but feel down to earth and “homey.” Its “location, location, location” in downtown Oak Park (walking distance to groceries, restaurants, gardens, banks, theater, library, shops) equals being close to beauty and practicality every day. The food is good, and I have some strong food allergies, for which the director and chef are bending over backwards to serve my needs. The many activities and outings cater to diverse needs. I’m so grateful my daughter found this gem of a place for me.
