Brookdale

I think the food here is fabulous. And the staff is also very very good. The activities and excursions that we take are really great. I very much like playing trivia and going on the excursions. A couple of slight downsides are the age of the building, which is about 40 years old. So there are plumbing issues. And then the sales associate that I dealt with was a nice guy, but completely incompetent.

Happy residents with positive outlooks. Caring friendships among residents and a wonderful staff.

I give a 10 on all 8 values. I really loved it...I would differently put Brookdale on their list of considerations.

It was a great fit for us. There is a lot of staff turnover but the care we received was great. It's a small community so there is familiarity among residents and staff as well as the families of the residents. My mom was treated with kindness and respect by all of the staff. I would highly recommend Brookdale Peace Haven to anyone looking for memory care.

My husband was only there a short time but he received excellent service for the two weeks he was there. They were efficient and caring.

Dad loves Brookdale. His studio apartment is large enough for not only his bed, dresser and easy chair; he also has a large desk, mini fridge and two additional storage cabinets. The staff hung dozens of his favorite framed family photos the day he moved in making his new home feel like home. The staff is awesome and everyone goes out of their way to exceed his needs whether it's their personal job or not. There's always someone available for assistance on any day at any time. Dad loves the food at Brookdale. His floor's small, intimate dining room is so much nicer than a large, noisy dining hall at other facilities. We packed snacks for him when he moved in and he never touched them. He wins candy at Bingo but is never wanting after his delicious meals. Bingo is one of several activities Dad enjoys. He is so busy that it's hard to find him in his room when we call. There's an outing every week with a great variety of places to visit. The van is large and comfortable and will accommodate various disabilities. The management is open to ideas and suggestions and holds frequent discussions to hear what residents want added to the amenities at Brookdale. I've never heard anyone say "no, we cannot do that". It's always "let's see how we can make that happen". We, his family, are so grateful that Dad is at Brookdale. We looked at many other facilities and this is the one that fits his needs and personality the best. He will likely need to transition to memory care at some point. Brookdale has that resource right next door.

All the people I have dealt with have been very helpful! They have treated my sister very well- and she can be a handful. I'm impressed with all the care she's received- on all levels.

When you walk in the door, everyone is so friendly and you definitely get the warm feeling of home. Staff is AMAZING! This is why I picked Brookdale Cape May for my dad. He has been there over a year now, I still get the feeling when I walk thru the door! AMAZING living for seniors!

Brookdale is a nurturing and secure environment that prioritizes the comfort and happiness of your loved one. You can have peace of mind knowing they will be well cared for at Brookdale. The management is compassionate and attentive, always focused on the best interests of the residents.

Administrative staff were very friendly with excellent communication to both residents and family. Nursing staff were knowledgeable and responsive to questions and concerns. Aides were attentive and kind. Dad felt that they truly cared about him. They made time to talk with him and develop true relationships. They gave him the opportunity to participate in his care as much as he was physically able rather than rushing through and "throwing him around" as he'd experienced in other facilities. Staff were responsive to requests to clean up Dad's room more often as he become less able to clean up after himself. The activities staff found ways to include even the residents that were limited in what they could participate in physically or mentally. The building had multiple areas for various activities and common areas for residents to hang out and visit with others. The dining room combined elegant and cozy and had the feel of a real restaurant. The building is in a convenient central location in Ann Arbor relatively close to the highway. The parking was often tight and required using the staff parking lot behind the building.

With no family nearby and urgency to move from Independent Living, we were so fortunate to be able to move my sister into Brookdale Tallgrass. First, we learned of their exceptional reputation, and it quickly became apparent it was well earned. We, her scattered family, have been so grateful for how much better she's doing there, with the exceptionally attentive and caring staff.

The minute you walk in your greeted with friendly faces smiling I like this place because it doesn’t have an odor like some care homes. they take pride in their caring for people always decorate for whatever season is at the time very clean. Always having some kind of a celebration and including the people that live there trying to make the place more like a home.

We moved Mom to Brookdale after Dad passed. The transition for her was difficult, but the staff helped every step of the way. When Mom's health began to fail, the staff were equally helpful, compassionate and caring Moving Mom to Brookdale was far and away the best decision I made in her waning months!

The staff genuinely care about the residents! Definitely, I would recommend Brookdale to others. The medical staff are knowledgeable and on top of any medical changes in their residents. The PT department is excellent and really seem to care. The rest of the staff are even attentive to family who visit and have concerns.

Beautiful accommodations, many things to do here. The highlight of Brookdale is the staff; kind and helpful. I always tell people who are considering a place for a family member who needs more care, this is the place to be. My advice is to be involved with the programs offered here, make new friends and don't isolate yourself. Life is still beautiful.

My mother-in-law chooses not to go to the dinning hall to eat. The staff have all been great in trying to get her to participate in activities but my mother-in-law is very anti-social and likes to be by herself. She has always been this way through out the years. We have no complaints about anything! I would most definitely recommend Brookdale to others who are searching for a place for their loved one.

So thankful for a staff that cares so well for my mom. Allows us to rest well knowing she is cared for. Always keeping them busy with activities and outings.

At Brookdale Tallgrass, I know my dad is not just a client, he’s family. The staff truly loves him. After the loss of his wife and coinciding health decline, my dad was nervous and apprehensive about his transition to assisted living. Now, over 2 years later, he speaks about his friends, the fun activities and his favorite staff with joy. Not a social guy, he has become quite social and the life of the party. I often hear from staff how much they love and enjoy my dad. He enjoys the parties, special events out and about Wichita, and days hanging out by the grill. Brookdale Tallgrass is a small, tight-knit family community. It’s family, it’s home. It’s a blessing to know my dad is safe, loved and his life matters. Brookdale Tallgrass for the win!

From my observations, the staff is very competent and compassionate individuals. I especially like hearing how [name removed] interacts with everyone. Talked to [name removed] and he has had an opportunity to speak with [name removed] which is commendable. I am well aware of his "MO" and I thank everyone for their patience when dealing with him.
