My mother got confused and stopped drinking water , because they did not properly take care of her she continued to not drink water and became emergency status dehydrated. Instead of helping her or calling the EMS , they called me and told me I had one hour to come pick her up !!!

When we tried to put my loved one in there, we asked if they served diabetic diet and they said that no they did not, but they do serve a balanced diet. When I saw the menu however, I would seriously disagree with them, and this was at a point when my loved one was having some issues with his blood sugar.

My father spent over a year in this facility. At first we just loved it. The 'apartment' is wonderful for the price, it was always clean. Staff would come in and wipe off the counter top and laundry was always freshly washed and folded. I actually thought of Sherry as family. However, within the last 6 months things changed. My father was sent to the hospital several times without me being informed even though I am his POA. I would tell Sherry to just give me a heads up and over and over again my request continued to be disregarded. We started to notice Sherry was becoming agitated at dad for falling for or for complaining of not feeling well. Prior to moving my father out of the facility a family member was notified by a visiting home healthcare nurse that dad had been again taken to the hospital by ambulance, I called and requested a call back. It never happened until I called the main headquarters. I have the message she left on my phone still complaining of how my father soiled himself and the floor and she was too busy to call me back. If your family member can fend for them self this place isn't bad. But if they need some special attention don't do it. [removed]

Bristol used to be a warm loving environment, with great food and loving help. Unfortunately that has changed dramatically July 2018. New managers. Don't put your loved ones here.

Facility went through 3 administrators in 2 months. Mostly served cold cut sandwiches and ignored residents. My mother was miserable. They let her throw up for 7 hours without calling anyone. She called me for help, and I called her an ambulance and met her. She had a bowel blockage and had to have emergency surgery. I moved her immediately. I would not send my worst enemy to Bristol Manor. After I moved her, they still charged me for another month because she didn't give thirty days notice.

Bristol Manor was nice when they had [name removed] as Manager she actually cared and did things correctly. [name removed] the current manager does not care, leadership does not care either, they have given the wrong meds on multiple occasions, they do not follow basic safety protocols, meals don't meet basic balanced meals. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!!!

My dad was there for a week and a half, and he was soaked, and yes, he probably shouldn't have been an independent living center. But, instead of the live in staff, clean him up, one of the stuff that works a couple days a week had to go and shower him! So bad that he had sores on his bottom. The staff is horrible. Not just my father, but to all of the residents! When we did our tour it looked great, until my dad was actually there, and then everything went South....

It was a horrible choice in which I had to hotline someone numerous times for elder abuse and the employee would be high while on duty. The company did not listen to concerts and actually stopped answering the phone or returning calls. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

My loved one left Bristol Manor a while back. It was a horrible place. When we left there we had to have a policeman present because the manager at the time was not very nice. He and my husband had words. His room was filthy and never got cleaned. Sometimes they only had toast for breakfast because they didn't have milk and the meals were awful. There were so many things wrong I can't begin to tell you everything. So with that being said it was a horrible experience.

My mom stayed here for a year. There is one staff person and assistance is little to none. Meals are terrible and skimpy. If you want something cleaned, you have to do it yourself. There are no activities and all residents keep their mouths shut out of fear of retribution.

I currently have a family member here and have for some time. 1- Food Allowance is $[removed]/day per resident. If meals were planned and food bought in bulk and planned ahead this might be possible. But this is not the case. Several family members bring in warm hearty meals for residents. 2- Cleanliness, hmmm. Only 1 employee who cleans. They can only do what time allows. Admin REFUSES to clean as they say this is NOT THEIR JOB. 3- Activities- Bingo is played when residents organize themselves to play. Other than that, NO. 4- Safety- Doors are not checked at night, there is NOT an employee who is awake/working at night as required by State of MO. 5- Meds- Meds are rarely correct, NEVER on time and meds are not refilled in a timely manner and some go without meds.

If we could give them a negative 10 we would. They sucked!!! They usually only had 1 employee. At first she was great but then in my opinion her mental health started deteriorating. She was left alone and the one time she did get help, the help stole meds. When I finally found another place for my mom on the day I moved her the administrator told me that she wasn't crazy but that she had live rats living in her body that the government had put there to monitor her. They would run out of food and groceries I even was asked to stay so she could go to town and get groceries because all they were eating was cold cheese sandwiches. So if you want my personal opinion I think it should have been shut down until they had the staff that could run it efficiently or I think that the district managers should have came down and helped run the place until they could have it staffed properly. They did keep rehiring a girl who had an assault charges against her from another nursing home in another town. I did not feel my mother was safe with her. She would get in my mother's face and she would scream and yell at her during the summer when I would come to see my mom she would be on the back deck smoking & on the phone! and never once come in to check on anybody during the 3 hours or longer that I would be there and when I left she would still be on the back porch smoking & talking on the phone I don't know why you kept rehiring this person cuz she was not capable of doing the job. She even had me come down and figure out my mom's meds cuz she couldn't figure them out More than once. The original administrator & 1 employee were great. You still had the worthless girl employed there you're adequate the administrator was great [name removed] she was wonderful and staff was okay except for the one that they kept rehiring. I kept getting promises made that they were bringing staff in and after 6 months I started looking for another place for my mom because it was obvious there was no staff coming in and in my opinion havening been a district manager I feel that it was their responsibility to come work there until they could get it staffed correctly That's my opinion I wouldn't put my dog there.

I personally wouldn't send my loved ones to Bristol Manor of Pleasant Hill.! Residents are not fed properly. The rooms are not cleaned, and laundry is not done. It needs to be turned into State. District managers don't give a flip!

The facility isn't managed well. There is only one person on site, who couldn't EVER leave. That can't be maintained. She claimed that management kept promising help would be forthcoming, but it never came to fruition. Her boyfriend actually shopped for groceries for the residents. [name removed] was friendly, but extremely overwhelmed and stressed. In the entire time that my loved one stayed here, no one cleaned the room. Ever. Also, even though it was billed as a non-smoking facility, the residents were allowed to smoke in a back room and the place smelled like smoke. I wouldn't recommend this facility because Bristol Manor as an entity seems to ignore the needs of its employees and then they quit when they can't take it anymore. They need more employees other than just one who is responsible 24/7. Check the high turnover rate. Profit over people.

The place is filthy, and they don't feed the patients enough. Always out of food and they can't have seconds. No veggies or snacks. The rooms do not get cleaned and laundry either unless you do it yourself. There are no activities. Upper management is no better at dealing with any issues. Gave a thirty day notice my father was leaving and he was there 6 days of the month and they will not pro rate his stay, and then pulled the following month's pay out and he was no longer there. Had to go have a stop payment done because they would not help me.

From start to finish we had a horrible experience and would not recommend. They never cleaned, the meals were not adequate for adult seniors and the staff members were just not willing to work with us at all.

The community was very understaffed and there was one staff member that was working 24 hours a day to support the residents. Ashbury Heights needs more staff to support the residents. Until the staffing numbers increase, I would encourage others to look at other communities for their loved ones. There were three meals a day served to the residents and it is a fixed menu for the residents to have. The one staff member that was there was very nice; however, this staff member took naps while they were supposed to be working. This had me scared for the residents as the residents were left to themselves.

My Mother has moved, we had a horrible experience at Bristol Manor of Smithville. The food is lacking. They do not offer any activities at all as advertised. There were several errors with her medication and concerns with staff. All of these were reported to Bristol Manor staff with no resolution. Our family reported their facility to the state. They have literally one staff member and do not provide the cleaning services at all. There is a 98 year old women there that has to clean her own room, which is supposed to be a part of their offered services. It was a deplorable experience and I would never recommend this facility to anyone.

We didn't like the community at all. In fact we walked in and walked right back out. The community was dark, unorganized and the staff didn't know about our appointment.

This facility is a disgrace. They lied to our family from day 1. They barely provide low quality meals. The "admin" is also the overnight staff and sleeps during that time and does not even check on the residents, even though they are supposed to do 2 hour safety checks. They do not over ANY activities as advertised, and they do not take any concerns or complaints seriously.. you are basically fed lip service but nothing changes. They do not clean or do laundry as they are supposed to, or even offer to. This is NOT somewhere I would send a family member unless you just want a massive headache. They literally prepare crappy meals and pass medications, with frequent medication errors. They try to threaten you if you express valied complaints or concerns. They do not care one bit about their residents. I'm sure they will reply to this with more lies. I have several other family members I can put you in touch with if you need verification that is company is horrible and should be ashamed.
