Bridge Senior Living

The Blake is 85% Assisted Living and Memory Care. Activities are geared largely to those groups, not to the few residents in Independent Living. Bingo, coloring books, and Go Fish have not come close to satisfying our hunger for intellectual stimulation. We are entitled to one meal a day and the cuisine is a step down from a high school cafeteria. Moreover, the management is remote, detached, unresponsive, noncommunicative, and are literally locked in their offices with little interaction with or interest in the residents. For $7,100 a month, it seems like a disgraceful waste of money. In fact comparing our monthly fee to our services would probably could qualify as elder exploitation.

I would recommend the facility, but they need a better/more informed maintenance staff. In laws at first said food was good, but most of the meat was "greasy". Mostly the problems are with corporate and office staff. Staff is usually out of the office and corporate takes too long to respond to any questions, whether asked by residents or their own employees. Billing is a mess and no one can explain it.

My loved one was a resident at The Enclave of Springboro. They were very short staffed in the Memory Care unit. It was suppose to be every 3 hours check and change. We were there all day and no one would come in. Most patients in the Memory Care unit were full care patients.

The administration has been open, cooperative and responsive to our needs and concerns. It has been heartening to see that changes and adjustments have been made based on our feedback. We plan to spend the rest of our lives here and will gladly do anything we can to make The Blake an even more loving, unified, and supportive community.

We picked this community, because we were looking for a place for both my loved ones, and they had rooms available. It's a nice place, and good environment. Overall, I would recommend to other famileis.

We are struggling with some of the hygiene issues, and that they rotate staff such that it's a mixture of caregivers. They're extremely nice, but we feel like they don't hear us and what is needed for my mom. Doesn't always get her medication, teeth not brushed regularly, infrequent showers so her scalp is getting bad, etc. Nice place overall, and I'm sure part is staffing issues, but a little frustrated at this point. (Very hard on my dad.)

Bridges of Bent Creek is in an easy location to get to. The facility is fairly new. I do not know the current management, so not much to say about them. I do think that they need to get the cell phones out of assistants hands. The full attention should be on the residents, not on their phones.

I think that the staff who look after the residents at The Enclave of Scarborough are fantastic. Also, the Memory Care unit was very well maintained. The intake staff are helpful, as well. The biggest issue for me was not receiving the lengthy contract, which is a complex legal document, until just before EOB, with quite some intrinsic pressure (spot availability and financial incentive) to sign by midnight the same day. It was a very emotional period for my family and that pressure wasn't helpful. Secondly, my loved one was put on morphine her second day without any communication with me. However, that might have been a hospice issue? Still, more timely communication from both parties would have been appreciated. Especially as we transitioned from total oversight of our loved one's care to figuring out what that looked like in a facility. That said, I do feel that this facility offered a much better standard of care than many similar facilities and I would recommend it to others. I hope that my feedback will lead to improvement, rather than detract from the overall excellence that they provide to the residents at this facility.

My parents did not end up moving in to Woodbridge Place Senior Living, but a deposit was made which has yet to be refunded. Very difficult to communicate directly with management.

Food is the major issue. Soups are routinely too salty but usually hot. Food served sometimes cold or just warm enough to eat, etc. Unfortunately there are not a lot of options in this area for independent living. This facility and its potential sells its self and past history of apparently the good old days. Residents that have been here a long time feely tell how it used to be. Sales tours are very impressive and if you can afford it and can tolerate the food inconsistencies, you can live very comfortably here. But all that glitters is not gold. Another plus for here is you can move to assisted living and also memory care with out having to relocate to another facility.

Communication from head of nursing to the aides is lacking, getting medication's changed takes forever

Our family had an in person tour and it was less desirable then what we were looking for, it overall was just not the best tour experience.

We toured with Somerby of Mount Pleasant. The facility was older and the staff and residents did not look particularly happy.

It seemed like a possibilty but did not meet our needs.

The nurses are amazing. If you chose this community, make sure you're advocating for oyour loved one, and checking on them. Overall the staff is friendly, and they try hard to make our loved one comfortable.

We really like the management portion of this community, but just like everybody else they have their hands full with being short staffed. It is a very nice community, but they would definitely benefit from having a little bit more fuller staff team. The dining service is fine and the location is very convenient for our family. We would recommend this community to other families.

The community is suffering from growing pains; however in general they are good. They are working on staffing up the community, currently there is not enough staff to care for the residents, especially on the weekend. There was a change in the Executive Director, and it wasn't announced to the families or residents, and this wasn't a good business decision in my opinion. The staff are readily available to speak to family about our questions or concerns. The food is so much better than a prior community that my loved one was at. It is comparable to a three or four star hotel. It may be a little too salty for some. The monthly fee includes housekeeping, linen washing, and there are points for meals. There is supposed to be a physician that comes to see the residents once a week, so far I have only seen a physician's assistant for my loved one. I feel the moved in process was flawed. The communication from the sales person I had been dealing with and what ended up happening once we got there, there was a disconnect for us. It felt like stringent rules and times. We were kind of juggling things to fit HarborChase's schedule. I wasn't greeted well, neither was my loved one. It took a couple weeks for my loved one's name to get onto the door.

We think they do a really good job with the meals and dining service and the apartment rooms are perfect. Sometimes there is a lack of communication with the care staff and the families and there has been a recent change over in staff so sometimes information is up in the air and we aren't sure who our main contact is.

The food was okay and the rooms were small. The building was just older than some of the other communities and I just did not have that caring feeling.
