Bethesda Senior Living Communities

My husband was only there two weeks much to our surprise. The staff was very helpful especially Justine and Jenny. The RN over the whole facility helped greatly when we were handling the death , and the money owed us for the remainder of the month was quickly returned.

This is a community that is like family. The residents go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. You know it's scary moving somewhere when you don't know anyone. My mom made 5-10 friends by the time she moved in and that was important to her and me! They are remodeling, which iam not sure why cause it sure looks nice now, but guess will even be better!

very clean. seemed pricey. not a big complex. no physician on staff , not able to have them take u on errands. have to eat at scheduled meal times. staff friendly, residents appeared happy. small rooms. staff ratio is 15-1

Nice, clean facility. Activity director gave me a tour and answered all questions. I like the ratio of care directors to staff. There are options at each meal, activities, on and off premises. Priced well within the range I am seeking.

Placement occurred 2 weeks ago, so not a lot to report. The Community is very clean and does not smell. Still trying to work out some kinks as staff gets to know husband. Food could be better. Did report problem with food one day to Director. They seem to care about the individuals & try to accommodate. This is just a very tough job. I looked at several communities and choose this one because of private room & bath and cleaniness. I am still doubting my decision for placement, but I understand this is normal for spouse. This is a memory care facility & I feel my husband is not on same level (not a progressed with disease) . Wondering if I should have waited on placement. Maybe I should have visited several more times, I did visit 3 times at different times of day, but you need to see activities and meal time.

It's not the type of assisted living that would be appropriate for my dad. It's a really nice place but they have to be able to get around on their own there. They will help with medicines and stuff like that but they don't bathe them or do extra thing that that there. When we were first looking my father was more able and we had about decided that's where we were going to go. Then he fell and broke his leg and that changed the whole scenario.

(Activities Not Rated) The community had a couple of selling points but once we moved in and signed the contact those selling points were not longer pushed. One of those points was that they had an RN on staff but we found out the RN wasn't really certified. They weren't coming in to clean up our loved ones room. When we brought up concerns and request they would address them but we had to bring them up. There was recently a big turn over of the staff from the CEO to the maintenance staff and things have been getting better. They now have a certified RN on the staff. The food has improved along with several other parts of the community. It seems like the new staff genuinely care about the residents and really want to provide them with the best care. The one problem that is still around is that the elevator is not dependable; one of the times we were there they had to take meals up to the residents before the elevator was not functioning. Overall it is a pretty good community that has only been getting better with the new staffing.

Well Kept outside appearance. Across the street from a Catholic Church. Total of 90 apartments of assisted living on 3 floors. Clean inside no odors. Homey atmosphere. nice Garden area. Studio is 312 sq ft fo $3220. Deluxe is 397 sq ft for $3445. Little kitchen is very functional with microwave and fridge.Shower is step over. For $10 extra per month a call necklace is available. Menu offers 2 choices for each meal and also alternate list. 2 hour window for each meal period.24 hour supportive care. Escort to meals would be an extra charge.Did not observe any activities but noted several residents watching TV in Activity room.There is a calendar of activities. Resident council. Mass is once a week. I liked this facility. $2500 Community Fee. Concerned about distance to walk to dining. Unable to provide service if unable evacuate in 5 minutes, incontinent and unable to change herself, not able to transfer.

We really liked this one. It will be on our short list of places we like. The staff was very nice.

the communication between the leadership and the staff as well as the families could definitely be improved. The entertainment, a lot of the residents would like but it has not been very good. They do play games but my mom would like more of a book club which we have suggested. The food started off really good but they have re-vamped it and it has gone downhill some. The business manager who works in the office is great. She is very approachable and quick to respond to any questions or concerns that we have. They are in the middle of refurbishing the facility and it is loud, but once it is done it will be very nice. We are very understanding and for the money is it a lot better than her previous facility for sure.

Our family had an in person tour and the community is older so we knew it wasn't going to be the best fit. However the gal who did the tour was absolutely wonderful, but there was just not that many residents there. The internal courtyard has been destroyed by the big storm they had months ago, but when we came on the tour months later it still was not really picked up or cleaned out. You could tell this community is trying to turn things around and get back up on their feet. It is in a great looking neighborhood area and very reasonably priced.

Overall the community is kept very clean, however when it comes to our loved ones room, there is something there to be desired and i would be about a three out of five. Everyone there is friendly. The rooms are nice but overpriced, and the food is just okay. \

We toured Bethesda Gardens to see if it would be a good fit for our MOM. Very clean and beautiful facility. The apartments are small but suitable for 1 or two people to live in. The hallways are spacious and clean. The place was very quiet when we were there, didn't see a lot of folks walking around. They were having movie and popcorn in the activity/dining room. Big soft comfy chairs, really nice. We saw some maintenance staff, they were cleanly dressed, well groomed and friendly to us. Overall didn't get a homey feel. This is a very large place with long hallways and big spaces. There was no smell that you might associate with an assisted living facility, I would say more like a hotel smell and feel to the place.

I had recently taken a tour of this community for my mother and I was pleased with the presentation that we had received. The staff where kind and where patient with all of our questions. They had a spacious dinning room as well common area spaces. I thought they had a nice floor plan and a lot of great amenities for the residents it was just not the right fit in the end decision for her.

This was a very nice community when I visited. The people I met were nice. The community allows pets and seems to offer some nice activities. This community was a little more expensive than what we were looking for.
