Benchmark Senior Living

We chose them because of the proximity to family members, we liked the fact that it was a smaller facility, and the staff were extremely accommodating in terms of allowing her to move in during the pandemic and allowing 2 of us to go set up her apartment. The opportunity for multiple outdoor space areas was great at Bedford Falls. We have had many questions and some concerns along the way and whenever we call, we always get a response so they have been good with communication. According to my mom the food is not very good, she said it is not very good quality. I would definitely recommend them to others who are looking.

One of my issues was they gave us a wonderful introduction to the place. It seemed incredibly warm and friendly. I thought the services they provided were spectacular. But as we moved through the admissions process, I felt they were pushing us to take make services than we wanted or needed. And it seemed like there were some things that were told to us prior to entering that were not so true once we got in there. To be fair, as soon as we moved our loved one in, they had a Covid outbreak among the staff. I would guess that our experience would have been quite different had we not been in that situation. I was very frustrated and upset with the staff for bringing Covid into the facility, and they had a really hard time getting it under control. I would guess some of it came from people gathering at Thanksgiving. But I'm sorry, you work in an assisted living facility with vulnerable, elderly people. And I think people should be more aware. They had a hard time quelling the infection in the staff, and then it started spreading to the residents. My loved one did get Covid. I don't think that was her primary cause of death - she had heart failure compounding the situation. One of the things that actually drew us to Orchard Valley was the fact that they had gone the whole year, all the way through to December, with absolutely no Covid in the facility. So I was impressed, and felt clearly they were doing something right. But maybe everybody got tired of all the precautions by Thanksgiving. Even so, overall it was a good place, they were just experiencing unprecedented challenges due to Covid. So there were definitely some things that were not okay, and definitely some things that were really great. They did a pretty good job keeping the place clean all the time. And it was a beautiful facility. They were offering activities, which was great. And my loved one particularly enjoyed the mindfulness and aerobics activities. The care was sometimes good and sometimes bad. She had OT and PT services there, which were really helpful to her, and those staff were very friendly. But Orchard Valley made a pretty serious supply mistake regarding our loved one's incontinence care. We had told them from the start that she was incontinent, and one day they called to tell us she was entirely out of pants and that they had absolutely nothing for her. I was completely appalled. How can that happen? I imagine these types of things were due to Covid and the fact that they were short staffed. The whole situation was really hard for me. I was immune-compromised, yet they would still ask me to come in and do things while there was active Covid in the facility. I did what I felt I had to do it to take care of my mother, but it made me very uncomfortable. She was there for such a short time, about six weeks. So perhaps this is not the best overview of what the facility is like. But it is what we experienced during a Covid outbreak in her time there. I will say that they were incredibly helpful at the end. They gave me good guidance and were very caring. They cared for her as best they could, but how do you properly care for people who are dying when you don't have enough staff? But they were very helpful to me and provided me with very good information, and I felt we ended up doing everything we could for my mother at the end. And part of that was on them, because they were so helpful.

The community is a small assisted living facility. They encourage activities and try to engage the residence. Communication could be better between the staff and me. My loved one is happy there. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

I think the community is comparable to others when it comes to pricing and amenities. Communication between the staff and our loved ones is good. They keep us up to date and well informed. I would recommend this community to others.

Things have been going great here it is not going to be a long term stay because she has been improving. The people are very friendly, there does seem to be a slight shortage of staff members right now. The management is very nice and trying their hardest. She has made some friends here and she has actually been asked to make wreaths around Christmas time for people who wanted them. They are also asking her to help with other activities since she is very creative. I would recommend them to others looking.

It's a very nice place. It's very clean, and the staff are cordial. They've been very good about keeping in contact and answering and returning calls. The seem very confident and caring, and responsive to requests. The rooms are very nice, and my loved one is very happy here. Really the only issue I've had is I don't like the way they charge you for services that you only need 1-2 days a week. You end up paying for those services for the whole week.

We chose The Village at Willow Crossings because it was recommended to us and they worked with me diligently the day that I went in there. They are able to provide the level of care that he was needing at this time in his life as well. The room size for him is adequate. They have been good with communication and overall we have been happy. I would recommend to other families that are looking.

I've had a problem with the nurses and they never return my call about concerns or questions over my loved one. This leaves me frustrated. This occurs once a week or once every other week. There was a medical concern that the community wouldn't get back to me about this concern. My loved one says they feel safe, peace of mind, and content. This makes me feel good. Kathy and Sandy have been wonderful. There are several staff members that have been awesome! They are more than hospitable. Priscilla was wonderful and helped me.

My loved one is in a studio which is adequate for her needs and her care. In addition, the one bedroom apartment is a very generous space if your loved one would like to spread out a bit more. The River Ridge staff is excellent at communicating and has gone above and beyond to assist to my loved one's needs. Happy Hour at the Bistro is so nice for them to get out and socialize and something my loved one looks forward to each day. Concerts and other activities such as magicians, comedians have been great! All the "themed" parties are very festive and fun. Even during this difficult time with the pandemic, they have tried to "get creative" with activities to keep residents engaged. The hair salon is a wonderful amenity that my loved one takes advantage of. Overall, a very caring and clean environment!

I would tell others that the community has great nursing care. They are able to have great activities during the pandemic. They are responsive to both the residents and families.

We chose Benchmark Senior Living because it was recommended and they had availability quickly when we needed it. They were also able to accept him during covid which a lot of places would not. The room sizes here are just right for him. From what I can see, they have activities and residents seem to be having a good time here. Overall, I am pleased with our experience.

It looks promising. Went fir a tour today but we need ti figure out the financial implications. [name removed] was wonderful and she is working with us on the costs.

Once COVID came we were not able to go in and visit our loved one, but beforehand we were able to go inside an the cleanliness of this community was immaculate, there was never any fowl smell. That is one reason we wanted our loved one to go there. The staff members were all great, the care services seemed excellent during the short time she was there. From what they told us, they seemed to offer a good amount of activities.

When we first came to visit Arbors of Bedford we really liked the friendliness of the staff. The rooms at this community are about average in size. We thought the food was pretty good. We would recommend this community to a family or friend.

The staff was very good at handling the residents. The community is new and beautiful. They are always hiring people. We ended up having an aid after the second night for our loved one. I feel that our loved one should have been in a different community due to his dementia. The food was even decent.

I would recommend it to my friends. The people who work there are friendly, cooperative. The individual experience was amazing and it felt like family. The room was nice, clean, and spacious. The food was good and better than expected.

We chose this community because of the rehab, but my mom did not get the rehab that I wanted. For what you are paying, the rooms are nothing spectacular, they are very old and need work. The food is alright, but they do not get to pick what they eat. I would recommend The Village at Willow Crossing, it is not a bad community it's just very expensive.

The food at The Village community is very good, they have really good room sizes as well. One thing that stood out to us was how clean this community was and the decor they had.

We chose Benchmark Senior Living because of the director and the people at the facility, they all seemed very happy. They also have a great reputation and the facility looks nice. The room sizes are adequate. My mother in law thinks that the food post COVID has been horrendous, prior to COVID, she thought it was just ok. The food isn't really fresh and there is not a lot of variety. My favorite part about this community would be how close it is to us and that she is happy and well cared for. I would recommend to a friend or family member.
