food excellent - staff & residents were extremely friendly - the room laid outs for 1 bedrooms were strange - well staffed with assoicates that were available at all times.

I toured the Birches facility and grounds this past week in addition to two other residential facilities that say they can care for patients with dementia. No comparison! Everything about The Birches is designed to help patients with dementia live as fully as possible. It is quite a bit more expensive than the other places I looked at but you get much more for your money. When the time is right, I will definitely look to The Birches as a residence for my husband who has Lewy Body dementia

I met with [name removed] and we discussed my mother's needs and she explained the amenities of The Branches. During my tour, I noticed the entire downstairs living area was open and inviting. The dining room was spacious and the was a patio visible through the back windows. The private studio has a connecting living space with the next door neighbor which was something new to me. I can see that this might help residents venture out into the community, but not sure that this would work for mom. This is something to consider and I am hoping to bring her for a visit to see her reaction to this concept.

I loved this Home and the staff and will send my mom here when she is in need of this type of care.

New facility. Nice location with some outdoor green space. Units very smalll and pricey. Not yet opened so unable to get a feel for the community. Location closer to downtown Smithtown much nicer-not in a sea of strip malls and big box stores.

I was very impressed with my tour. Everything was there that you could want or need. It was clean, bright, spacious and had so many options for care, entertainment, food etc. Thank you.

Great staff. Everyone knew the residents names and really seemed to know and like people. The Director knew the residents. The place is clean and people looked well looked after with lots of activities. They also cater for multiple faiths. Only downside for us is location which is [removed]

[Removed] was very thorough and friendly. It is a beautiful facility and the staff is very invested. Both my husband and I felt that it was not stimulating enough for my mother is has mild dementia. This is not the one for her, but it is a lovely place for someone who is more involved

From the moment I entered the grounds I was impressed with Orchard Valley. The location and layout of the facility was inviting. Arrived early to evaluate spontaneous reactions and resident observations. The facility and staff interface with residents and my tour were most impressive. The cleanliness and brightness of the entire interior layout gave a warm friendly home-like feeling. Definitely comfortable with my first impression for a prospective resident.

I really liked this community when we toured it. The location is great. It is set back, so it appeared to be in a quiet, country setting, but it was still close to shopping and other conveniences. They had a lot of activities at this community, and the resident rooms were very spacious. The only issue was that they did not have a space available when we were looking.

We toured at Benchmark when we were looking for a place for my loved one. I absolutely loved this community, but the room that they had available at the time was too far down a long corridor for my loved one. He did not like the distance, so we continued looking for a more suitable community.

I am looking for a new place for my dad, who has dementia. I liked it here. The space is attractive and clean, I saw many positive interactions between the residents and staff and the residents appeared to be fully engaged.

We are very happy with our apt here, it;s not like living in our own home but the staff here have been outstanding in helping us settle in, attentive, friendly and great to work with. We enjoy going to the dining room, they have a nice menu to choose from and we enjoy visiting with the other residents during mealtime. There are a lot of different activities going on and the courtyard and walking paths are very nice.

After spending some time here we have decided to move back home due to the cost of living here we just can't afford it. Everything is fine here we are enjoying it. The community is very nice very clean housekeeping is doing a good job. The food is very good. We keep busy with some of the activities and outings they run. The staff is fine very friendly and nice.

I had recently taken a tour of this community for my loved one and I was very pleased with my experience. My first impression of this place was it felt like I was in walking into a four star hotel. It was a beautiful place and had a lot of luxury amenities for the residents. The assisted living side was very small and had about forty residents. My parents where more interested in the independent living side but my dad just did not meet the health requirements to live on that side.

I had recently taken a tour of this community for my loved one and I have no complaints of how things had went. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to answer any questions I had for them in detail. I thought they had a nice floor plan with lots of great amenities for the residents throughout the building. It was just not the right location for us in the end decision.

I toured this community for care. The staff was nice and able to answer my questions. The community seems a little older as far as being active. The community was clean but the environment was not what we were looking for. We would recommend this others tour this community for the care of a loved one.
