Benchmark Senior Living

I give each category a 5. I had a wonderful experience there. It was clean, nicely decorated, they had nice furnishings. The staff was always attentive. The doctor on call was excellent. In assisted living the quality of. Are was very good. Value was good. Mom moved there from Atria in NY. They forced her out saying she needed to be in memory care, but in actuality they wanted her one bedroom with a patio that we leased during COVID at a very good price. She tested for assisted living at Benchmark. So, she did NOT need memory care. Also I have learned (maybe they one if your agents) that CT has much better care because that state's law are patient friendly. NY laws are facility friendly (lobbying). So the agent said since I live on the CT border, I should check into CT facilities. I Am very grateful for that info. We lost Mom last year, but her end of life was significantly better since she was at Benchmark. She was 99 1/2!

Benchmark is a great facility although with my Aunt got to enjoy it longer. All the dealings I had with them were great.

The facility is modern, clean and has more of a home feeling than caring facility. The staff are great. They care about the folks they are caring for

It has been a great experience for us, and most importantly my mom. I would recommend them.

The place is gorgeous. My 95 yr old mother in law had a stroke and went from hospital to short term rehab. We were looking for a place for her and your organization suggested the village. We talked several times to [name removed] who shows you around and shows room and everything involved . Since we thought she would continue to improve we placed her there. Gave her a nice place to live . Shortly after she moved in she started having another medical issue. She started to deteriorate. We were going to move her because they don't do medical care except for medication. But [name removed], the executive director, talked to us and gave us a couple of options so we could stay. One suggestion that he and her doctor thought was the best for her was to call I. Hospice and they would work with hospice for her care. We were greatly relieved. Another person, [name removed], ( I don't know titles) but she helped us with move in process and was so wonderful! She assisted us and looked out for us throughout my mother in laws stay. Before mil got so ill all our encounters with everyone were so very pleasant... from housekeeping, dining room workers, maintenance and the residential aides. Mil was unable to speak so everyone was kind , gentle and caring. Initially cost was much less expensive than a nursing home which was a good thing. As mil needs grew so did cost but still no more than many quality nursing homes. Mom has passed now but we stink miss going there because the people were so very friendly and nice.

Good communication. Friendly and calm. Very welcoming. Excellent ability to redirect.

My father-in-law has a rapidly advancing case of dementia, both vascular, and that brought on by years of alcohol abuse, and deteriorating motor coordination. He requires more hands on care then a normal memory care unit can provide. Additionally, he was demonstrating some aggressive behaviors while his meds were being adjusted that the staff is better trained to handle. The client to staff ration is lower here than at a normal memory care unit and there is a nurse that is exclusively dedicated to the wing she is assign, so the care response time is better. Additionally, there is a nurse on call after 7pm. And senior memory care is all they do.

Everything is a 5! Benchmark exceeded all of our expectations. The staff is amazing! They had really compassion and empathy for those suffering from Alzheimers and their family. At the end of my mother's life, the staff, especially [name removed] and [name removed] were so kind and basically held our hands during this time.

I would rate all as a 5 with the exception of a 4 for Quality of care and a 4 for Administration. I definitely recommend this facility and am grateful to have found it through your organization.

Over all we are very happy with our choice. My mom attends all activities and is kept busy all day. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Everything is very clean. Mom is content. The rooms in memory care vary in size, moms is a smaller one but she doesn't spend much time in it anyway, it's more than adequate.

The facility has a great set up for memory care. With all the resident rooms attached to the large common area, I feel better knowing my mom's room is so close to the common area where all of the aides are. The staff is very attentive and caring. They do a great job of keeping the residents busy and entertained.

The staff, especially the memory care unit staff, treats the residents with a great deal of kindness, compassion, and patience. It's comforting to know that my mother is in such good hands.

What I like the most about The Atrium is the nice setting, friendly and accessible staff and the community is clean. Yes, I would recommend the community to other families based on the experience so far.

It is a very friendly, caring residence and the residents all get along with each other. The staff knows everyone by name even the family members. They make a point to remember people and guests. They have entertainment weekly (guitar players, singers, piano players, dancers, and memory games). There is always music playing in the common area and the residents love it. They have bus rides twice a week for those who want to go. They take short trips to the beach and other scenic places and stop at DD for refreshments. The residents can walk around the residence if able and go back and forth to their rooms if not interested in the activities. In warm months they sit out back in the patio area for fresh air, entertainment and snacks. I love the place for my mom and she said she's happy there.

They have treated my sister very well only problem is they don't accept Medicaid and my sister money is running out it's too bad the nice places won't accept people when they don't have any money left.

Mom is doing great at Benchmark! They are the absolute best. The facility is clean and comfortable. Just like home. The staff is wonderful, they are so kind.

Overall an excellent experience. Everyone is friendly, helpful and greets you with a smile. Room was clean and just the right size. Food was wonderful and being able to go when you want was great. Unfortunately my dad was only there 2 months before he passed away. They have been very helpful and understanding. They made this tough time a little easier and took wonderful care of him.

have found all staff from front desk, dining room, nurses, maintenance to be extremely courteous The pca's that help my mom and the activities director go above and beyond to ensure her well being.

Everything has been great. She's very happy there. Sometimes on weekends we have to wait long for someone to let us in to the Memory Care unit so if families could get some kind of passcode it would help. The staff is great. The place was recently redecorated and it looks great! They have a lot of activities too so we are happy.

It's an excellent place. What stood out the most is the care and compassion. The room is on the smaller size, it is a shared room.
