Nice but no gardens to walk in. Lots of convalescence and not enough care takers for the need.

It just hasn't been quite what we expected. The morning routine seems to be extremely rushed, which does not set well with my mom. It has not been a smooth transition. It has only been a month, so we are optimistic that things will get better. The place is very nice and clean, and the staff is friendly, however they need better orientation and care services. Any time I have voiced any concern though they have shown a willingness to listen and help out where they can.

They are okay. I think for most people they are fine. We are having a difficult time getting adjusted. It's clean and the staff is friendly. But the communication among the staff, and with the family is not that good. We don't hear about a lot of things, or we hear about them really late. I think my loved one's condition has declined since coming here. When we first came and toured they seemed to be much more organized, now it seems like no one has any answers. If we ask a question they take forever to get back to us, and they have to check with this person or that person. I am just not very impressed.

Nice looking facility but very pricey. Residents appeared to be bored and non-engaging.

The location, of course, is perfect. The building is impressive, and the staff are friendly but I had the distinct impression of them all trying much too hard to impress. We were invited to have lunch with the residents before we had 'the tour'. The food was exceptionally tasty. After lunch we were shown the residents common areas, theater and library. I then expressed interest in seeing the apartments, and strangely enough, this appeared to be a problem. We were told that a) there really was nothing available now, but if we wished to, we could be wait-listed b) the only accommodation that was available to see, was the very smallest of all the floor plans. Naturally we wanted to see it, and were taken upstairs in the elevator. I was shocked. You enter through a room that has linoleum on the one side of the floor, and a cheap and unattractive wall cabinet, and a sink and a stove and a fridge, the kind of look one would find in a low-income apartment building. (the assisted living apartments apparently have the same unit without a stove.The rest of the floor is carpeted in cheap, commercial grade carpeting. The living area is small. The bedroom is tiny, and is appointed with a tiny bare bones looking wooden closet. The bathroom is tiny and unattractive too. We were told the price was $9,100.00 per month. G-d alone knows what this cubby hole would cost with assisted living inclusive, or what the larger one bedroom apartments cost. We were told that the soonest an apartment would be available anyway, was about three months, although the larger units may free up sooner...?? I'm not sure why so little attention is given to the living arrangements, but I would have expected something a little classier with that price tag. On the way out we looked at the outdoor area next to a very old and poorly maintained swimming pool. Very uninviting.

So far things have gone fairly well at Belmont Village. It's a nice looking place, and the staff have been friendly. One area I'd like to see them improve would be the activities and interaction the residents have with the staff. My loved one has been having trouble getting involved.

Assisted Living start at $5,075 for a studio and include personal care. starting price a studio in memory care is $6,225. Brand new.

Nice property, close to TMC but not the best fit for my Mom ambience wise.

Amenities exceed Mom's needs at this time. Facility is also WAY over the budget.

Has a swimmingpool. But looks like an hotel so not very homy. Large 2 bedrooms and good interaction with UCLA for lecture speakers. Cost of 2 bedroom with independent living is $7275 + minimal care costs if needed.

I visited after a doctors appointment so I was not prepared and still recovering from surgery. Have a nurses station where you can go and have ur blood pressure taken and small things like that. Offer computer classes. Witnessed a seminar on sleep.

Review of BelMont Cardiff as a family member of a Long term resident in the Neighborhood. Multiple turnover in staff, and frequently shorthanded. The staff who are there frequently look over worked. The activities person is very good, but often the only care person available for the group. Get everything in writing, and I mean everything, signed and agreed to, and expect them to live up to every word. They charge you extra for every little thing. They can be very uppity, and the compassion and quality you pay for is absolutely going down !! The food is good, but it has also changed. The Menu has changed, plus it seems like the cook has also changed, because the food is not as consistently good, and upscale as it was in the past.

When you are looking around and trying to make a choice you're getting one set of information until your loved one is there. Then suddenly the care needs are more and there will be extra charges. I thought the staff provider was going to be there but they only check on residents once an hour. The staff to resident ratio is not good. They are clean and friendly but the response time can be slow when pressing a call button. The communication isn't as great as I would like. The food is excellent. There are activities going on, but really some of the things that need to be improved are important.

Belmont has quite the cuisine but they don't have the care that we needed. Their response time was horrible as far as responding to when we would pull the little pull chains to call a caregiver. We waited as long as 35 minutes one time and other times we waited 20 minutes when my father would be laying on the floor. So that response time was pretty bad and I think it had mostly to do with the lack of caregivers. They were understaffed.

The nice portion of Belmont Village is their view. They have a very nice view of the city but Belmont is kind of dark inside. It's kind of like a sad feeling. The lobby is very nice. They have a very beautiful reception area but the second floor is kind of dark. You know how you can tell you're in an old person's home? It's like that. My aunt is blind and deaf and very picky and that's the first thing she noticed that it's dark. So she didn't like that.

It was more expensive and it's on a busy street. The staff was not as friendly. It's a big place with a lot of residents. It felt like you wouldn't get that personal touch. It was nice inside but not as nice and plush as another place. It was a nice facility but my mom wouldn't feel at home there.
