It's a great community, and it's all about your family's situation. We have two loved ones who have been at Brookdale Carlsbad. One of them has been there almost a decade and has lots of friends. The residents are very friendly, it's just up to you how much you get to know them. The staff is very helpful. They helped my other loved one set up a Facebook video machine because I couldn't go in during Covid. They have a podiatrist that helps clip toenails when they get too long. They help with other electronics he has trouble with. If anything happens, they call met that day to let me know what's going on. There haven't been activities for the last year or so due to Covid, but that's finally opening up some. Everyone has been vaccinated now, which is great.

Everyone is good but more especially [name removed](Activities), [name removed](Therapist) and [name removed] (CNA). It's been a privilege to be in this facility, the kindness and care that I received is second to none. I would recommend the services of this facility to everyone in need.

I would tell people looking into this facility that Heritage Hills Memory Care is an excellent, small, intimate setting. They only have 40 beds so it is very personable. I would absolutely recommend this facility to others.

I was extremely happy with the room he had and the food was outstanding. they had a great variety and they did take requests The staff went out of their way to take care of my dad and was really nice. Barton Creek has been a wonderful place to call home for a mom / grandma. They are kind, caring and treat their residents with great care and respect. We are very thankful to the wonderful staff at Barton Creek and would highly recommend them.

This place is the best! The administrators and staff are kind and caring people. They are competent and prompt in their assistance and evaluations and do all they can to accommodate the needs and wishes of the families and residents, helping the residents have an as high quality of life as possible.

They are very attentive to me and meet my needs well. The room layout is adequate and works for my situation. The food is good. My son has also enjoyed the food here. And it compared favorably to the other facility. The atrium and dining room are attractive, and all areas are maintained and, clean, and tidy. The staff works tirelessly to keep us Covid free.

My Uncle has no family in the area and I live in Canada, so it's great to know that he is well taken care of at Vista del Lago. Wonderful caring staff and fun activities. Being kept informed with pictures and videos is great, especially in these hard times. They are quick to ensure that everyone follows the strict protocols so that residents and staff are safe against the COVID19 virus. Best of all, keeping family members constantly updated even if there is no change means so much when we can't be there for them. Just hope things will improve soon, so I may finally have a chance to return to visit.

VDL has been fantastic with my Mom - excellent at communicating and providing very good care.

My sister has been at the Vista Del Lago for a few years now and I continue to be impressed with the quality of her care! I am relieved to know she is so well cared for. And I am so appreciative of the kindness of all the workers there, the respect afforded residents, the warmth of the care givers, the enthusiasm of staff and the reliable and regular communication provided to loved ones from not only the direct care providers but also from administrative staff and even the executive director. The workers at the Vista care deeply about the residents and it is obvious! I am so grateful to have found the Vista for my sister and believe it is a wonderful place for her to live.

I think Brookdale is the best place in Bakersfield. I visited every community here and I chose Brookdale because I had more room, they provided the meals in restaurant style with options and after I evaluated them all and Brookdale was better by far. Before COVID, activities here were very good and I like that they offer physical therapy on site. But right now the entire building is in quarantine.

Vista Del Lago is a wonderful facility to care for your loved one. I was unexpectedly in charge of my Aunt's care after she suffered a stroke then rapid memory loss. We tried a few places before God led us to this place. Without a doubt, I would pick this place again. Caregivers are very professional. The facility is cleaned multiple times a day. It always looks and smells fresh.

Fabulous care and staff

My mom required a memory care facility in a very short amount of time. I called and interviewed at least sixty in San Diego. This was the place for my mom. She loves it here. The staff are thoughtful and kind. The facility is clean and doesn’t smell. I didn’t see anyone unattended to. I love my mom and am thankful to have had the opportunity to make her a resident at Vista Del Lago.

Vista has done an amazing job keeping their residents safe. The facility is very clean and the staff very friendly. Even the executive director takes a personal interest in the residents. During these very difficult times with Covid-19 I’m sure it’s been very lonely for the residents there but vista does it’s best to keep them busy and less lonely.

It was such a difficult and depressing process for me to understand my eldest family member needed to be cared for in order that proper care could be administered. It’s still very difficult having this on my shoulders and worrying daily. However, I know my family member gets the gentle guidance and care needed! I can’t say enough about the staff and management. I thank them ALL and OFTEN! I have nothin but high praise for them all. Especially during this Covid outbreak! All residents are negative. They are outstanding!

My Father has been a long-term resident at this facility due to a car accident almost 15 years ago. They do a tremendous job of showing love and compassion to their residents. It starts at the top. The Facility Director is extraordinary, and treats the residents like family (although without the family yelling and bickering, kidding - mostly). A very clean and welcoming facility. Great staff, that is actively involved in the residents lives. From personal experience I can highly recommend this extraordinary facility.
