It is the best place you can take your loved one. The room layout could be better, they are adequate. My mom is on a corner with nice views. They have a large outdoor patio, it is very nice with a canyon view. Staff are very nice people, they seem very concerned about the residents.

Vista Del Lago always smelled nice. There was always staff available to clean and it never looked messy or cluttered at all. The staff was always kind and thoughtful. They took the time to listen to me and they were always willing to problem solve. They always showed a great level of compassion to our family. Vista Del Lago is expensive, however it was worth every penny. The staff was in general, very happy, which was surprising given the amount of work that they all put in to the care of the residents. It really gave me peace of mind to know that my loved one was being taken care of so well when I couldn't physically be there. The reason we chose this location was because my loved one was very social. We were very pleased to know that the whole building was available to him to walk through. We also liked that the other residents were at the same level of care as him, which we felt meant he was not being judged and this was a huge comfort to me.

My mother has been a resident for about five years now. Her needs have increased over the years. Barton Creek staff have been excellent in adjusting to her level of care. It has been a very positive experience for her. As her family, we appreciate the communication extended to us concerning mother’s needs. The Inn at Barton Creek has given us much peace of mind. We highly recommend this friendly, clean and beautiful place.

After researching several skilled nursing facilities for my mom, we selected Brookdale in Carmel Valley based on online reviews and positive comments from a professional (broker) advocate specializing in finding assisting living and skilled nursing facilities. I reviewed the positives and the negatives. My husband and I toured Brookdale briefly, as the decision needed to be made quickly as the case manager at Scripps Memorial in La Jolla (very helpful in advocating placement for my mom) needed my selection. First impressions: clean hallways, eating areas, activity rooms, PT room and rooms; fresh and clean smell throughout the facility; and nice walking path around the facility with two fountain patio areas. Once my mom arrived, the staff was friendly and informative, and they settled my mom in quickly and responded quickly to all of her needs. Over the next three weeks, during my mom's stay, the entire staff from Chris (the person that cared for her daily room needs), to the PT and OT staff, to the assistant in the dining room, to the case manager were just amazing, friendly, attentive, gentle, patient and engaging with my mom. I was fearful the first impression was only for show on the first day, but the staff really cares for each patient. The staff interaction, when no one is looking, was friendly, professional and gave a sense of a genuine like of their job and working with each other. I think that speaks volumes and the care my mom received was reflective of their professional and caring environment. My mom suffers from new stages of dementia, but was in the skilled facility as a result from a fall. She had poor strength after being in the hospital for a week. After three weeks at Brookdale, my mom was able to return home...thank you PT, OT and the nursing team. Thank you for daily care and patience (on her difficult dementia days), the engaging daily activities, dining room entertainment, and caring staff. My mom enjoyed her stay and, while happy to return home, she was sad to leave the people she got to know and the staff that cared for her. I would highly recommend Brookdale in Carmel Valley.

My mom keeps telling me that she can't believe her good fortune to have landed at Brookdale. She says she feels like she's in a 5-star hotel on a luxury cruise everyday! The staff couldn't be nicer.

Sales Manager explained needs of dementia patients and requirements for interested parties,. She was very helpful . All staff are supportive and welcoming. Facility has a good layout and offers many activities for all.

I am so amazed with how much Vista Del Lago takes care of my mom. My mom was in a bad situation which caused a decrease in her level of life quickly and Vista Del Lago came to the rescue. A therapist came to visit my mom in her home and noticed that she was not being taken care of and that she could not take care of herself. They expedited a doctor to visit her in her home and he saw the situation that was at hand and saw she needed care. When she became a resident of Vista Del Lago, she was put on a good diet, her pills were monitored well, and activities were used to help promote her wellbeing while she was in serious need of care. As I visit Vista Del Lago, I have found that the nursing are well attentive to mom’s needs. When she is not doing well, they find the answer quickly and take steps immediately to help her be herself. The administration staff is all attentive to mom’s needs and care, the activities staff are also focused on her wellbeing. There have been some changes from the beginning of moms care to now and incorporated teams named, Guardian Angel and Otter Crew. I love that they assign someone in charge in each area for mom’s wellbeing. I email staff and receive emails. It doesn’t stop there. I text and call for ANYTHING and there is a response. And much to my surprise, I receive texts and phone calls when I don’t even check in. They are there for every aspect of moms needs and I so appreciate what Vista Del Lago has done to transform my mom back to who she is and make sure she is happy. There is also a protection aspect that is phenomenal for the care of mom. Who does that? Vista Del Lago does! Thank you Vista Del Lago for saving my mom’s life and enhancing her stay with you the best she could ever have.

Largest floorplan with u-shaped kitchen with full stove and frig, patio, second floor. Very very nice Great staff

This is the third move for my Mom. I was hoping to keep her closer to PL. I visited Cloisters of the Valley 2-3 times before taking my mom there. The care there is outstanding! Everyone who walks with a cane, walker, wheelchair has an assistant by their side when going to the dining room & back. They are happy to help. The nurses are happy to assist & extreamly helpful. The rooms are large and have 3 closets. Every room has a patio, with furniture and a beautifully landscaped garden, with seasonal flowers. There are fountains & lots of birds. The staff is receptive to my moms needs. This is leaps and bounds better than her last place. It was new and pretty, close to PL, but she wasn’t getting the care we contracted for.

All of the staff give excellent care to my mom. The activities are great and they keep her busy, and I’m glad she has the chance to interact with others, something she would get to do at her own home.

With much reluctance, almost a year ago, we had to place my mom in a memory care facility. With the help of A Place For Mom we found and decided on Heritage Hills in Oceanside. HH turned out to be a wonderful place with lovely people who took good care, not only of our mom, but our dad-who visited our mom 2x/day everyday-as well. Thank you Heritage Hills far making this most difficult decision and transition okay...better than okay.

Vista Gardens has been wonderful for my mom [name removed] who moved out here from Upstate New York, Jamestown. She had lived in her home for 74 years making the move a big one. I can not thank the Vista Gardens staff and her amazing room mate [name removed], for welcoming her with open loving arms. My mom is so happy and the adjustment was so smooth. The Manse is a lovely facility with a real feeling of "home" for its residents. The atmosphere is family-like and is evident in the relationship the staff develops with each resident. Most importantly, the residents of the Manse receive top quality personal care that is based on genuine concern for their comfort and welfare.
