Nice facility - one we are considering

Good, but Mom doesn't want Oceanside.

Very nice place. Lovely apt available, but we are not ready to move.

Nice, clean, friendly. Maybe not able to provide enough care for Mother. Maybe easy to get "lost" on the other hand, Mother might be quite happy Meals not particular flexible. Very friendly. Not willing to accept Mother=too much care

Beautifully landscaped ~25-acre gated community for retirees thru skilled care, in separate buildings. Many activities and available care.

The Director was very nice and helpful. Lovely facility, but too expensive. The rooms were actually smaller than at Atria Rancho Park.

For the first few months communication was bad with the different department administrators. Lots of balls dropped or passing the buck between departments. The main person in charge of the care staff was particularly difficult to communicate with and we had many problems with her. We always had to follow up over and over to try to get answers and or things resolved. Things have improved, I’m not sure if it’s because we’ve settled in and sorted everything out or because they have improved in organization.

The people were incredibly friendly. My loved one had a negative experience with the rehab facility connected, so it was just not going to be the right fit. The location of the facility is lovely but the room sizes are on the smaller side.

I was not an appropriate candidate for that facility. I am much too active and much too little interested in people. I was there to recover from surgery before returning home. Friendly, good food, well run.

My mom lives there. Everything is kept spotlessly clean and she is well-cared for. I feel she is safe. She likes the food (I think it smells good when I am there and it is cooking) and the staff is friendly and responsive to my questions and concerns. True, the only activity they offer is Bingo but my mom also goes to an adult day care several times a week. The grounds are nicely maintained and gated for safety. You are getting a good value for the cost. If you want a lot of activities and other fancy amenities, you would have to pay a lot more. I did my research and feel this is the best place in her price range.

I toured this community with my mother, and it is quite a big, beautiful place. The people were great during our visit. There are lots of amenities here for the residents as well. However, my mother needs memory care, and she isn’t able to take advantage of all of the activities and amenities. I really wanted something smaller and more like home for my mother where she can easily get involved and make friends.

I toured Brookdale with my mother, and while it was a beautiful community, I felt it was too large. My mother needs memory care, and I worried that she might not get as much attention in such a large place. I wasn’t very keen on the memory care unit either. It was just a long hallway that the rooms were attached to. It felt too cold to me and not as cozy as I would have liked. I was also informed during the tour that there would be construction occurring in the memory unit, and that just didn’t sit very well with me. Overall, while this community was large and beautiful with lots of amenities for the residents, I wanted something smaller, cozier, and more like home for my mother.

We had a really rocky start for my father-in-law. He had only been there one week and he fell from the bed and broke his hip. They were going to put an alarm on his bed but for some reason, it did not happen right away. There is a problem when the residents push the alarm to go to the restroom it can take up to 25 to 30 minutes for them to respond. They have said they are understaffed. The staff on hand are very friendly. And the nurse always stops what she is doing and answers all of my questions and concerns. They have a lot of activities that my mother-in-law participates in, but not too many for father-in-law now that he is in a wheelchair.On the plus side, my in-laws get to stay together in the same room. Financially it is a good fit. The director was very accommodating. The maintenance is really great, recently their air conditioner broke down and they came to fix it immediately.
